Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Wren Sutton Agrees to Meet Ms. Dawson

The Postpartum Center.

Ms. Dawson strode into the lobby, her face an icy mask. The sharp, crisp CLACK of her high heels on the marble floor echoed like the beating of a war drum.

The mirror-like floor reflected her slightly distorted image. The air was a mixture of disinfectant and a faint, fragrant aroma.

"I’m looking for Wren Sutton." Ms. Dawson’s voice was as cold as ice, a torrent of rage churning beneath her forced composure.

The receptionist was a young nurse, not the same one from yesterday, and she wore a professional smile.

"Hello, ma’am. Do you have an appointment? Visits are by appointment only, and we also require the client’s consent."

"An appointment?" Ms. Dawson sounded as if she’d just heard the world’s biggest joke. Her voice suddenly shot up, drawing the gazes of the few people milling about the lobby.

"I need an appointment to see *her*? Do you have any idea what Wren Sutton has done?! She seduced another woman’s husband and destroyed her family! And your center is protecting a shameless woman like that as if she’s some kind of treasure?"

The nurse’s expression immediately soured, but she maintained her professional demeanor.

"Ma’am, please watch your language and refrain from shouting. We have new mothers and newborns here who need a quiet environment. If you don’t have an appointment, I can’t let you in."

Ms. Dawson’s anger boiled over. Unable to control her fury, she slammed her hand on the front desk.

"Cut the crap! I’m seeing Wren Sutton today, one way or another. Get her out here, now! Immediately! Otherwise, I’ll sue your postpartum center and let the whole world see what kind of trash you’re housing."

"Ma’am, please calm down. If you continue to cause a scene, I’ll have to call security." The nurse was getting angry too, but she was still trying to maintain order.

Ms. Dawson was unfazed, her attitude growing even more aggressive.

"Go on, call them! And while you’re at it, get your manager out here too. I’d love to ask just how you people do business, openly protecting a homewrecker. Have you no conscience?"

Ms. Dawson grew more agitated as she spoke, her words becoming increasingly sharp and vicious.

"As long as the price is right, you’ll take in any piece of filth, is that it? How much did that Wren Sutton pay you?"

The commotion in the lobby alerted the manager. A middle-aged woman in a skirt suit hurried over, a name tag pinned to her chest reading "Manager."

"Ma’am, please calm down. I’m the manager here. Whatever the issue is, we can discuss it in my office. Please don’t disturb our other guests."

Ms. Dawson sneered. "I have nothing to talk about with you. I’m here today to make that little bitch Wren Sutton answer to me, face-to-face. If she has the nerve to be a homewrecker and destroy someone’s family, she shouldn’t be afraid of the humiliation!"

The manager’s expression remained neutral. Her professionalism kept her from stooping to the other woman’s level.

Besides, how could Mrs. Lancaster possibly be a homewrecker? The entire Lancaster family doted on her so much that they’d rewarded her with one billion yuan after she gave birth.

"Ms. Sutton is one of our VIP guests, and she cannot accept any unannounced visitors. If you continue like this, we’ll have to ask security to escort you out." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"A VIP?" The word seemed to strike a nerve with Ms. Dawson, and her voice rose another notch.

"What kind of VIP is she? A woman who sleeps her way to the top by seducing other women’s husbands has the right to be called a VIP? I’m not leaving today. Let’s see what you can do about it."

The manager was speechless.

The scene reached a stalemate.

「Upstairs.」

In the VIP suite, Wren Sutton had just lulled her two babies to sleep. She gently stroked their small faces, her eyes filled with a blissful contentment that gave her a gentle, almost holy aura.

A soft knock sounded, and a nurse entered carrying a bowl of postpartum nutritional soup.

"Mrs. Lancaster, there’s a lady downstairs in the lobby causing a huge scene at the front desk. She says she’s here to see you."

The nurse placed the soup bowl on the bedside table.

"She’s saying some very nasty things, just cursing nonstop. The manager even came out but couldn’t calm her down. She’s refusing to leave and making a complete mess of things."

Wren Sutton’s heart sank. "Do you know her name?"

"No." The nurse shook her head. "She looks to be in her forties or fifties, well-dressed, carrying a designer bag, and she’s taken good care of herself. She has the air of a wealthy socialite, but she’s extremely agitated. When she starts yelling, she’s like a madwoman."

Wren was silent.

Based on what Spencer Sawyer and Isla Griffith had said yesterday, she had a pretty good idea who it was.

"Charlie, could you do me a favor? Go down to the lobby, listen carefully to what she’s saying, and then come back and tell me everything, word for word."

The nurse nodded and quietly left the room.

Wren Sutton finished her nutritional soup, then rose and walked to the window. She gazed down at the meticulously manicured trees and flowers in the garden below, a storm of emotions churning within her.

She had no desire to get involved in someone else’s relationship, nor did she have the energy to pursue one of her own. Because of Spencer Sawyer, Stella Sinclair and her mother had completely misunderstood her.

’It looks like I can’t wait until my confinement is over. I have to deal with this now, or it will cause endless trouble later on.’

A few minutes later, the nurse knocked and came back in, an indignant expression on her face.

"Mrs. Lancaster, that woman’s last name is Dawson. She’s been slandering you, saying you seduced her son-in-law, and she’s threatening to sue our center."

Wren Sutton’s fists clenched slightly.

’So it really is Stella Sinclair’s mother.’

She walked over to her vanity, gently combed her hair, and her eyes grew uncharacteristically firm.

"Charlie, please do me another favor. Tell the manager I’ve agreed to see Ms. Dawson. Have them arrange for her to be in the second-floor reception room. I’ll be down in ten minutes."

The nurse’s eyes widened in surprise.

"Mrs. Lancaster, your body isn’t ready for a confrontation like this. What if she gets violent and tries to hit you?"

But Wren Sutton had made her decision and wouldn’t be swayed.

"Some things are better faced head-on than avoided. The innocent have nothing to fear. I’m not afraid."

The nurse sighed helplessly. "Alright, I’ll go tell the manager."

「Ten minutes later.」

The door to the reception room was gently pushed open, and Wren Sutton walked in slowly, supported by the nurse.

She was wearing a simple postpartum outfit with a light pink cardigan draped over it. Her face was bare of makeup, yet she possessed a fresh and refined beauty.

"Ms. Dawson, hello. I’m Wren Sutton."

Ms. Dawson snorted, her sharp, knife-like gaze raking over Wren Sutton from head to toe.

"You certainly are a pretty face. And with such a healthy glow during your confinement, it’s no wonder you were able to capture Spencer Sawyer’s heart."

Wren Sutton sat on the sofa and gestured for the nurse to leave.

The nurse hesitated, clearly worried.

"Don’t worry," Wren said. "The reception room has security cameras; I’ll be safe. Ms. Dawson and I have private matters to discuss, and I don’t want a third person to know."

Hearing this, the nurse finally left.

Ms. Dawson watched Wren’s every move and sneered contemptuously, "You’re putting on a good act of being calm."

Wren calmly met the other woman’s gaze, her expression composed. "I have no reason to pretend."

Ms. Dawson rolled her eyes, in no mood to beat around the bush.

"I came here today to ask you one thing: why did you destroy my daughter’s family and seduce Spencer Sawyer?"

"I hear the people here call you Mrs. Lancaster. That means you’re a married woman, too. Does your husband know you’re out here sleeping around with other men?"

"And another thing, whose children are those, really? Are they your husband’s, or are they Spencer Sawyer’s?!"

That last sentence enraged Wren Sutton.

Her eyes instantly filled with an icy chill, and she seemed like a completely different person.

"Ms. Dawson, I suggest you show some self-respect and stop making these baseless accusations. Otherwise, I will be the one taking you to court."
