Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!-Chapter 619: Half a Month in a Coma
The breathing was faint, but thankfully, there was still breath.
Summer Sutton let out a gentle sigh of relief.
Carefully lifting his clothes, Summer Sutton checked the wound on his back.
Three bullet wounds, just the number of times Summer Sutton had felt bullets flying toward her before.
Summer Sutton’s hand, resting on his wound, froze for a moment, as if she had realized something.
She stared at Manuel Ink’s injured back for quite a while, feeling complicated emotions.
Coming back to her senses, she tore off a piece of fabric from her dress and temporarily treated his wound.
The two were outside now, and conditions were not as good as in the estate. Although her dress was also wet, she managed to stop the bleeding for him temporarily.
After giving Manuel Ink a simple bandage, just as she finished, the bodyguards came over.
"What’s wrong with the boss? Is he injured?" A group ran over, quickly checked Manuel Ink’s condition, and carried him to a car parked by the roadside.
Summer Sutton followed and returned to Manuel Ink’s estate with a few others.
Manuel Ink’s injuries were quite serious. After returning, the family doctor arrived to treat his wounds, remove bullets, and apply bandages. Manuel Ink remained unconscious throughout the process and never woke up.
Summer Sutton initially thought that once he finished his business today, they could return to the country.
But unexpectedly, Manuel Ink was injured.
He was in such a bad state that it was uncertain when he would wake up, let alone talk about returning to the country.
Moreover, it was because of her that he was injured.
Summer Sutton had no choice but to keep waiting in the estate for him to wake up so they could go back together.
...
Manuel Ink’s estate was like a secluded paradise, covering a large area with a private stable, a golf course, and expanses of orchards and gardens.
Just the stable alone couldn’t be finished on a half-hour walk.
"Miss Little Sutton, if you have nothing to do, you can go for a horse ride in the stables to relax." Serena approached with fruit, placing the platter beside her.
Summer Sutton sat at a stone table in the garden, resting her chin and absent-mindedly replied, "Okay."
Her mind was occupied with thoughts of the situation back home.
It’s been many days since she woke up after being rescued at sea, and Adrian Walyon hasn’t heard a word from her this entire time, how anxious must he be now?
Summer Sutton didn’t call him, her heart remained in constant agitation.
"Serena!" She stopped the maid who was about to leave, grabbing her hand, "Can’t you give me a phone? I promise I won’t tell anyone anything about this place, you can trust me."
Serena looked at her in confusion, seemingly in a dilemma.
"Or perhaps, you could tell your boss about this and ask for his opinion? Maybe he would agree? This is really important to me; I must make a call back home. I’ve been away for so many days, and my family hasn’t heard from me, they’ll be worried sick." Summer Sutton was almost pleading with her.
This made Serena even more troubled, "The boss... isn’t he still lying in bed, unconscious and not awake?"
Her words reminded Summer Sutton.
Her hand that was holding Serena’s dropped limply, and Summer Sutton felt disappointed for a long while, giving up on the matter.
...
Manuel Ink was in a coma for fourteen days.
During that time, the doctor almost several times thought he might not wake up from his deep sleep.
After waking up, he spent some time recovering before planning to return to the country, which was already a month later.
