School Transmigration: I, Chosen as the Saint by Dragons at the Start-Chapter 110 --Sea Serpent Melodic
Emerging from his contemplation, Quincy realized it was a point of no return.
His pupils transformed, revealing serpent-like slits, his eyes narrow and emanating a cold, sinister aura.
Despite the absence of water, ripples began to spread around him like waves.
"Sea Serpent Melodic—Ripple," Owen muttered, a shiver running down his spine as his pupils contracted.
The sea serpent race possesses a unique arcana known as the Sea Serpent Melodic, a secret chronicled in the library of the Grand Magus Academy.
The human race’s great magi, in their relentless effort to equip future generations against numerous races, had compiled a comprehensive tome titled "Preliminary Discussion on the Arcana of All Races," which documents the more renowned arcanas of various races.
Naturally, the arcana of the sea serpent race was included.
Sea Serpent Melodic has three stages: Ripple, Vortex, and Tide.
Ripple primarily serves as a radar, controlling information and proving extremely useful against adversaries.
After all, any action by a living being causes a disturbance in the surrounding air.
The Sea Serpent Melodic, utilizing Ripple, can control these fluctuations.
At its advanced stages, it can even predict an enemy’s movements.
Now, with Ripple activated, all of Owen’s movements were effectively locked down.
He frowned, his dragon claw swiping fiercely towards Quincy.
Predictably, Quincy, as if anticipating the attack, sidestepped smoothly, evading the claw.
Subsequent attacks by Owen were similarly preempted and dodged by Quincy, making the situation increasingly frustrating for Owen.
He was tormented by the sea serpents in Quincy’s Domain, which kept biting and injecting their toxins.
Externally, Quincy’s constant harassment was unrelenting, and Owen couldn’t lay a finger on him.
"What to do?" Owen pondered internally, experiencing for the first time the true essence of helplessness.
Fortunately, his deep reserves allowed him to keep struggling even if trapped for an hour.
But now, he urgently needed to devise a solution.
Quincy couldn’t wait any longer, aware that time was not on his side.
"Vortex," he uttered, as arcanergy swirled within him.
The ripples around Owen converged, forming a funnel-shaped vortex that abruptly rose around him.
Caught in its center, Owen’s body was incessantly scraped and buffeted.
The water summoned by Quincy was as sharp as swords, striking Owen with such force that he spat out blood instantly.
"The ocean has always been a blend of rage and gentleness," Quincy spoke with a flat gaze, his words sounding like an incantation, "In its fury, it conjures storms and swallows travelers with its waves. In its gentleness, it nurtures life like a spring rain."
"Now, you shall experience the ocean’s fury," he declared.
"Tide!" The sea manifested once again in the void above Heartstealer Island, an ocean appearing miraculously over land, a sight akin to a divine phenomenon.
Standing on the tumultuous shoreline, Quincy took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and murmured an ancient spell.
As Quincy’s incantation intensified, the vortex grew larger, the seawater churning as if something was awakening from its depths. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, and with a forceful push of his hands, a powerful surge of energy burst forth from his body, piercing the sky.
The clouds above were torn apart by this energy, revealing a starry expanse.
Quincy’s power was immense, capable of piercing through thousands of meters of deep sea, reaching the sky.
The starlight shining down on the depths of the ocean was a spectacular sight.
The inhabitants of Heartstealer Island, witnessing a beam of light piercing the center of the city, were mesmerized.
Bessie, gazing upward, murmured to herself, "Sea Serpent Melodic—Tide, Quincy... Quincy?"
Under the driving force of Quincy’s power, the sea began to churn wildly, forming massive tidal waves.
These waves, like monstrous beasts, rolled towards Owen.
Towering waves, as if connecting the entire sky, resembled a giant beast opening its mouth, ready to swallow Owen whole.
In Owen’s eyes, golden light materialized into substance, his entire dragon form radiating a brilliant, golden glow.
A beam of light shot straight from his body into the sky, the Golden Core of Sun Blessing within his dantian spinning wildly, releasing several times more power under immense pressure.
"Hold on!" Owen exclaimed.
The temperature around him soared as the fire of the sun, capable of melting everything in the world, began its work.
The mere sea was no match for it.
As the tidal waves reached Owen, they couldn’t even make contact before vaporizing into mist.
The mist spread, turning the center of the city into a white expanse, resembling a celestial realm.
The battle had reached its climax.
Owen was fully channeling the power of the sun, while Quincy utilized the force of the Tide, creating a standoff between water and fire.
Where the tidal waves collided with the power of the sun, steam continuously erupted.
In just two minutes, Heartstealer Island was shrouded in a thick fog.
Finn, sensing his vision narrowing, furrowed his brows, "Could this commotion be Mr. Owen’s doing?"
"It seems so," Berkeley replied gravely, "I sense a divine essence in this fog."
Finn sniffed, raising an eyebrow, "You can smell that?"
Morton, too, sniffed frantically, his face a picture of confusion, "Do you have a dog’s nose or what?"
Berkeley, looking slightly embarrassed, scratched his head, "I was just saying it to sound professional."
"..."
The trio made their way towards the city center, eager to witness firsthand what was unfolding there.
As they arrived, they were utterly astounded by the scene before them.
The situation was dire.
Quincy, with his hands raised, was continuously channeling arcanergy, sending relentless waves crashing towards Owen.
Owen, in his dragon form, stood firm, firing a column of solar fire into the sky.
The ocean vaporized upon contact with the pillar of solar fire.
Shrouded in a white fog, the scene resembled a beautifully rendered oil painting.
"Heartstealer Island engulfed in fog, all because of these two’s magical duel," Morton mused, his voice laden with shock.
"But that’s not the point. What should we do now?" Finn asked, noting Owen’s worrying state.
Parts of his once brilliant golden scales were now ominously blackened.
Berkeley, frowning deeply, spoke urgently, "We might not be of any help. Even getting close to them is a formidable task."
"Is this really just master-tier magic?" Finn asked in a daze, his mouth agape.
Berkeley swallowed hard, correcting solemnly, "I must clarify one thing – Mr. Owen is now at the diamond-tier."
The three fell into silence, contemplating their own levels of power.
They realized they probably wouldn’t last even a second against Owen.
...
The battle between Owen and Quincy had evolved into a sheer display of arcanergy firepower.
It had become a test of endurance to see who would falter first.
Although Stellar Blessing primarily focuses on soul enhancement, it also augments arcanergy.
Sun Blessing, needless to say, is known for fortifying the body, and a stronger physique naturally accelerates training.
Most crucially, Owen’s body still harbors traces of Lunar Blessing, known for increasing the thickness and depth of arcanergy.
The convergence of these three primal forces within Owen’s body makes him extraordinarily potent.
His arcanergy capacity far exceeds that of a typical master and is even more formidable than some grandmasters who have achieved their status through shortcuts.
Thus, in the standoff with Quincy, Owen doesn’t find himself at a disadvantage.
The two maintain a bizarre equilibrium, an intricate balance between water and fire.
Five minutes passed...
Then ten...
Finn, observing their clash of arcanergy, yawned and remarked, "They’ve been in this pose for over ten minutes. Don’t they get tired?"
"Hmph, it might look like a standoff, but in reality, they have already clashed hundreds of times. The slightest weakness shown by either would lead to a devastating, possibly fatal, strike. Right now, neither dares to make a move," Berkeley explained seriously.
"Is that another one of your fabrications?" Morton raised an eyebrow, skeptical.
Berkeley pursed his lips, "It’s true. Once you reach the master-tier and can project your mind power externally, you’ll understand."
As a level 5 arraymancer, equivalent to a master-tier, he perceives the battlefield between Owen and Quincy differently.
In his eyes, the confrontation is not just physical.
A sea serpent and a dragon are constantly engaged in a mind power battle, their auras clashing numerous times.
While they seem to be merely continuously outputting arcanergy, the situation is fraught with peril.
A single misstep could mean total defeat and obliteration.
"Are we just going to stand here and watch?" Finn’s brow remained furrowed, his concern for Owen evident.
Owen was his cornerstone to becoming a king.
"There’s nothing we can do. If you intervene, you’ll likely end up shattered," Berkeley shrugged, sitting casually on the ground, propping his head with his hand.
The others twitched their mouths in frustration but had no alternative.
...
Quincy, unable to overcome Owen, was not the most anxious.
That title belonged to Stanbeck, who was utterly exhausted.
"I really..." Stanbeck’s face was expressionless, staring at the gaping maw of the black protodragon without any will to fight.
The last bit of spirit in his body had been drained.
He could no longer muster the strength to throw a punch.
With a loud crunch, the black protodragon swallowed Stanbeck whole, crunching contentedly.
Its pupils glinted with satisfaction and pride.
"In my world, even dragons must bend to my will," it seemed to gloat.
Suddenly, the black protodragon’s gaze shifted towards the city center.
