Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 38 - 37: The Prisoner’s Release
"Are you dumb or perhaps have you lost your memory? The head maid takes care of this place, personally." He replies, snatching away the torch from Eleanore’s hand, regretting that he ever even gave it in her hand.
He started ahead and was almost so far that the light could barely reach Eleanore, yet she didn’t move. Eleanore was completely stunned by this. Was that a betrayal of the eye? But how? She remembered speaking to that man, then how come Caelestis doesn’t know about him.
"Lady Eleanore!" Caelestis shouted out her name. "If you do not follow me quickly, I’ll leave you there." He warned.
The terror that had somehow found place in her nerves, escaped when the light started to turn dimmer. She almost sprinted her way to Caelestes and when she reached close enough, she caught a piece of his thin, white tshirt.
"Walk slow." Eleanore demanded.
"Take off the damn heel, then." Caelestis countered.
Eleanore glared at him and he glared back. "Heels are the only shoes available because of all you damn, demanding men."
"We didn’t set those beauty standards." He argued.
"They were set to impress you men."
"Well, then change them."
"Change yourselves." She shot back.
By the time she got back her breath and strength, they were already standing in front of the old side house. Eleanore let go his t-shirt and then arranged her nightgown properly. Her sleeveless hands were freezing now, from the cold breeze passing in the air.
"My lord!" The knight stationed at the entrance saluted. His eyes shifted to trembling Eleanore and it didn’t take him long to recognize her as the maid who had been coming here constantly.
His eyes widened on finally receiving an answer to the question that had been hanging in his mind since last night.
"Knight?" Caelestis called, bringing back his attention to his lord.
"Yes, my lord?" He asked.
Caelestis stretched out his hand, merely speaking with his eyes. The knight didn’t catch it at first, but when Caelestis gestured for the court, the knight was wearing. He quickly took it off and handed it over to his lord.
"Here!" Caelestis said, passing the coat to Eleanore, his eyes fixed on the knight, who was now feeling awkward by the constant stare.
Eleanore wore the coat, as they walked to the dark room, where Stella was locked. When the knight who was slapped by Caelestis last night opened the door, Eleanore stopped Caelestis from going inside, by grabbing his arm.
"Let me bring her." She said,
"No!" He shoved Eleanore’s hand that was stopping him, away and walked in.
Stella was still wide awake, worried for her new friend, who had been wildly dragged out of here by her once best friend. She didn’t touch her food again today and only continued to stare at the door.
She wished that nothing happens to Eleanore because if anything were to happen to her, she would blame herself all her life. After all, it was all her fault.
Just minutes ago, she heard a few footsteps from outside the small door. Wishing that it would belong to Eleanore, she didn’t move her eyes from the door.
The door swung open, and a silhouette of a huge man appeared. It wasn’t difficult for her to recognise this silhouette. She knew it. It belonged to Caelestis.
Stella tried to get out of the bed but her chains restricted her. The sound of those harsh chains filled the room with its awful noise.
On hearing the clanking of the chains, Caelestis rushed in with the torch. He held Stella by her arms, to stop her from hurting herself anymore, but instead a slap landed across his face.
"You brainless, selfish monster!" Stella yelled. "What did you do to Lady Eleanore? Where is she?" She questioned.
Her hand clenched on his collar, as her bright ocean blue eyes met his dul scarlet ones, almost burning his eyes by the brightness it held. "Where is she?" She asked again.
Eleanore revealed herself and jumped in between them to stop Stella from further angering Caelestis. "I’m fine, Stella!" She assured her.
Caelestis was thrown down on the ground, by Stella’s strong push. Surprised, he couldn’t believe what had just happened. Before anger could boil in him. Eleanore clenched his face in her two palms, trying to calm the situation down.
If Caelestis gets angry now, all her efforts would go in vain. By the fire of his anger, not just Stella but even she will burn to death.
"Calm down. You are here to release her. She is the woman you love, remember?" She reminded him.
Caelestis’ wandering eyes came under the warmth of her gaze. As if it was a tranquilizer, his anger subdued, calming him down.
"The key?" She asked.
As if charmed, Caelestis simply pulled the key out of his pant’s pocket and handed it over to Eleanore.
"Everything is fine.Stay here." saying that, she moved to Stella and quickly started to open up her chains, before Caelestis changed his mind again.
As soon as she freed Stella, out of nowhere, She hugged Eleanore tightly and started bowling. Tears welling out of her eyes like a stream.
"I thought he killed you!" She cried. "I was so scared. Hic- Thank you for being safe." She hugged her tighter.
Eleanore was completely caught by surprise. She had no idea what was going on, how did Stella become so attached to her in just these few days?
Stella soon moved back and almost stumbled onto Eleanore, but she caught her at the right time.
"Stella can stay with you tonight." Caelestis said, before leaving the room, with the lit out torch.
A knight quickly passed another torch to Caelestis, while Eleanore followed him outside the side house.
Stella almost couldn’t feel her legs for the first few minutes, since she had been lying in the bed for days. As if she had forgotten how to walk, until she could eventually.
She let go of Eleanore’s hand when they were already upstairs and waiting
for Eleanore’s door to open.
Caelestis opened the door for the ladies. "I will send a maid." He said, before closing the door and leaving the room, sadness was pretty evident in his tone.
