Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 498: "... Was it a fight fight? "
As Luo Muchen pulled away, his lips glistening with saliva and matching Qie Xieling’s own exhilarated glance, he couldn’t help but reach out for another taste. The hair on the back of his neck stood as the sensations from their passionate embrace still lingered, each touch a mere memory that spun him deeper into his desire for more but he knew he had to leave.
His breath came in ragged gasps as he pressed his forehead against Qie Xieling’s, his eyes closed. He could feel the heat emanating from Qie Xieling’s body and it only made his desire grow stronger.
As he caught his breath, Luo Muchen brought both his hands up to rest on the sides of Qie Xieling’s neck, his thumbs caressing Qie Xieling’s cheeks with gentle strokes. The feeling of his skin beneath his fingertips was almost too much to bear and Luo Muchen couldn’t stop himself. He was lost in the moment, overwhelmed by his emotions.
Qie Xieling’s eyes were closed and he was panting softly as Luo Muchen continued to hold him close. The world around them seemed to melt away as they stood there, basking in the afterglow of their passionate kiss. At that moment, nothing else mattered but the person right in front of him.
"Stay... stay here... don’t leave," said Luo Muchen afraid that while he was gone someone would swoop in and take him away. Just knowing his half sister and Bi Yize, both with more backing than he did, wanted his wife made him ill at ease.
Qie Xieling didn’t want to add to his stress so he nodded his head and Luo Muchen kissed his lips lightly before turning to leave. Qie Xieling placed the tips of his fingers on his lips savouring the linger taste of the kiss the smile on his lips growing wider.
With a soft click, he heard the sound of the door getting locked trapping him in here until Luo Muchen came back.
With a sigh, Qie Xieling lay down on the bed his feet dangling over the edge of the bed. He looked up to the ceiling seeming lost in thought. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Jolie suddenly interrupted him. ’Hey psst... open the window,’ she said in his mind and Qie Xieling glanced at the closed carved wooden windows.
’Can’t you use the door?’ he asked and Jolie replied,
’No... your man is jealous. He left two men guarding the door.’
Qie Xieling’s brows arched in surprise. He didn’t think Luo Muchen would go that far. He sat up and walked over to push the window open. Soon a leg appeared through the window followed by the rest of Jolie’s body. She was clutching the package tightly with a piece of osmanthus cake in her mouth.
"Help me," she said after removing the half eaten cake from her mouth. Qie Xieling sighed before getting up and pulling her up.
"Just let go of the package," he said seeing that she was struggling.
"No," do you know how good these are?
Qie Xieling almost rolled his eyes. "Then give it to me so you can climb in well," he suggested and she reached out to give him the package but on second thought she didn’t trust him. She retracted her hands immediately.
"Uh-uh pull me up," she said and Qie Xieling pulled harder. Because he pulled too hard Jolie fell hard her face on the floor.
"I am okay, I am okay," she said the package in her hand held up carefully. It seemed she would rather risk injury than ruin her osmanthus cakes.
Jolie got up and spotted the bruise on Qie Xieling’s lip. "Whoa, what happened to your lips? Was it a fight fight or a real fight?" she asked while pointing at it.
Qie Xieling licked his lip and hissed in pain. Luo Muchen really was jealous this time. This was a good thing. At least it meant that he was slowly falling for him.
"And what is a fight fight?" he asked and Jolie sat down before saying,
"You know... making out type of fight."
Qie Xieling let out a soft, "Oh... then it was a fight fight." Jolie seemed quite impressed. Qie Xieling was able to sweep his man off his feet with little effort now.
"Hey, you do know that your character knows how to ride a horse, right? Or were you just pretending so your sweetheart could help you? Taking a page out of that Zi woman’s book, right? That is smart."
Qie Xieling, "..."
"I didn’t know, I swear," he said but Jolie had already found him guilty and sentenced him.
"No shame in your game. I used the same trick on Mittens so I get it. Whatever you did worked because now you are locked in here in a little black room."
Qie Xieling couldn’t even defend himself. He lay down with a sigh while Jolie ate piece by piece stuffing her face.
Meanwhile, Luo Muchen had found a private place to read the letter while Bo Ailun guarded the door outside.
His heart raced as he unfolded it. The delicate strokes of his father’s calligraphy revealed a sinister truth that shattered his world. As expected his father had nothing good to say. He had written to inform him of a chilling decision he had made.
In a desperate attempt to ensure Luo Muchen’s marriage to Master Zi’s daughter, Master Lee had dispatched an assassin to eliminate Qie Xieling. That’s because Master Zi wouldn’t let his precious daughter marry a man married to a ger from a brothel.
They would make it like his death was accidental so their family wouldn’t be blamed. As for Master Bi, he won’t be able to retaliate because he was the one who started this mess.
As he read the words, a mix of anger, fear, and despair swelled within him. The weight of his father’s expectations bore down heavily upon him, but he couldn’t bear the thought of harm coming to Qie Xieling. Qie Xieling had come to be someone he cared for greatly.
Without hesitation, Luo Muchen made a difficult choice. He tore the letter into shreds, determined to protect Qie Xieling at any cost. He couldn’t let his life be snuffed out like a candle in the wind. The flames of the hearth beckoned to him, and with a heavy heart, he held the torn pieces over the fire.
