Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 468: "I deserve to be punished,"
Thirty minutes passed, and the tea sat untouched on the tray. Feeling thirsty, Luo Muchen decided to take a sip assuming the tea had grown cold after sitting for so long. As the liquid touched his lips, a strange sensation washed over him. The taste was off, oddly bitter, unlike the familiar flavour. He ignored it as a result of the tea’s age, dismissing any further concern.
But as time ticked by, an uncomfortable heat began to spread through his body. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead, dampening his collar. His mind, once sharp and focused, began to blur, the numbers in the account book swimming before his eyes. Realization dawned on him—something was terribly wrong.
At that moment, the study door swung open once again, and Xiao Fen rushed into the room, her outer robe billowing in the breeze. Luo Muchen’s brows creased as he struggled to make sense of the situation. " Xiao Fen, what is the meaning of this? Leave at once!" he demanded, his voice trembling with anger.
Ignoring his command, Xiao Fen swiftly removed her outer robe, revealing a thin, ethereal garment that flowed gracefully with the air currents. From the thin sheer material, he could see her nipples and vagina. She was baring it all for him to see. Her eyes gleamed with an unsettling allure as she advanced towards him, her intentions clear. Sensing danger, Luo Muchen recoiled, shoving her away with all his might, his heart pounding in his chest.
With a desperate escape in mind, Luo Muchen bolted out of the study, his mind fixated on getting away from this situation. Xiao Fen tried to grab his arm but she was violently shaken away and she fell on her butt.
She ran after him her vision blurred by her tears. She couldn’t fathom why it didn’t work. Why didn’t her allure work on Luo Muchen? She had done everything she had been asked to do. She had drugged his tea and even sprayed her body with a scent that could make any rational man feral yet Luo Muchen had run away from her like running away from the plague.
Meanwhile, Luo Muchen raced through the corridors, his steps echoing off the walls until he reached the tranquil part of the courtyard. He pushed his bedroom doors open and when he realised that he hadn’t slept in his bedroom ever since his wedding night he turned to leave. He had been sleeping in the other bedroom on the opposite side all this time.
But when he saw that the bedroom was empty his chest tightened. His body trembled in anger. Hadn’t he told Qie Xieling that he couldn’t step foot out of this courtyard yet he had gone against his orders? Luo Muchen closed the door and sat on the chaise his eyes as red as that of a malicious beast on the prowl.
Qie Xieling had indeed disobeyed Luo Muchen’s orders but that was because he had to see if he could sell some of his dowry so he could get himself some presentable male clothes. Turns out that all of his previous jewellery was fake and couldn’t be sold.
After drinking with Jolie drowning his sorrows he came back to the courtyard. Jolie was too wasted so he left her in her room and snuck back to his bedroom.
He tiptoed through the silent courtyard, his footsteps muffled by the cool night air. The moon’s soft glow filtered through the swaying branches, casting eerie shadows that danced along the corridor.
The candles that usually adorned his living quarters were extinguished, shrouding the space in an impenetrable darkness. He had to get inside and light the candles one by one. He lit a small torch from outside and with a deep breath, he steeled himself and stepped forward, navigating the familiar furniture with cautious movements.
But it seemed like the corners of the tables and chairs seemed to conspire against him, scraping against his shins and causing him to wince in pain but Qie Xieling pressed on.
Finally, his fingertips brushed against the cold metal of the first candleholder. He fumbled for a moment before successfully igniting the flame, and the room flickered to life in a warm, golden glow. It was then that he saw Luo Muchen seated in a chair with an intensity that sent shivers down his spine.
Luo Muchen beckoned him over with a subtle motion of his hand, his dark eyes fixated on him as if he were his prey. Qie Xieling’s heart quivered in his chest, the conflicting emotions of curiosity and apprehension battling within him. He approached him obediently, his steps measured and controlled.
As Qie Xieling knelt before him, his gaze lifted to meet Luo Muchen’s penetrating stare. His eyes, like pools of darkness, held him captive, their magnetic pull reaching deep into his soul. His heart pounded fiercely, a mixture of fear and an inexplicable attraction coursing through his veins.
Luo Muchen leaned forward, his voice a low and dangerous whisper. "Where have you been?" he asked, his words laced with a potent blend of curiosity and possessiveness.
Qie Xieling’s lips trembled as he struggled to find his voice. His usually talkative self was clouded by the intensity of the moment, his thoughts entangled in a web of conflicting desires. With every beat of his heart, he felt himself drawn further into the enigmatic web that Luo Muchen had woven around him.
In that fleeting moment, as the candlelight danced upon their faces, Qie Xieling’s world narrowed down to the space between him and Luo Muchen. The weight of his offence hung heavy in the air, but his captivation with him overpowered his caution. He found himself lost in those mesmerizing dark eyes, his own heart pounding in tandem with Luo Muchen’s.
"Chen-ge," he called out softly but Luo Muchen curled his fingers gripping Qie Xieling’s chin tightly.
"Didn’t I tell you not to leave this courtyard?" said Luo Muchen his aura terrifying and overbearing but it was making Qie Xieling extremely horny that his hardness was pressing hard against the fabric of his undergarments.
He wanted to tell the truth of where he was but instead, he pulled Luo Muchen’s hand and placed it on his lips before whispering, "I am sorry young master... I deserve to be punished."
