Chapter 422: Not the face

Bi Yu scoffed, her expression hardening. She hated Qie Xieling before for what he had done but now she hated him even more because he had dared to sully Luo Muchen.

Without warning, Bi Yu lunged forward, her sword gleaming in the moonlight. Before long they found themselves locked in a fierce battle. The air crackled with energy as plasma shots were exchanged, creating dazzling streaks of light amidst the chaos. In the opulent halls of the palace, the plasma guns gleamed in the dimly lit room.

The echoes of their weapons reverberated through the palace corridors. Each shot was met with a counterattack as if their very lives depended on it. The power of their weapons was matched only by their unwavering resolve.

"Give it up Qie Xieling. You won’t walk out of here alive," she yelled before a bullet whizzed past Qie Xieling’s ear. He really had no time to play these games with her hence with a swift motion, he pulled the pin from the smoke grenade and tossed it across the room. The small canister exploded, releasing a thick cloud of smoke that enveloped the area. Visibility dropped to almost zero but he was ready for it.

He activated the infrared vision on his mech, allowing him to see through the dense fog. He moved silently, his footsteps masked by the swirling mist.

"Shit... You really are a piece of work, you know that? Come out, you coward!"

Qie Xieling didn’t bother replying. He closed in on her his grip tightening on his plasma gun. Suddenly, a blur of movement emerged from the smoke, and Bi Yu launched a lightning-fast attack. Her plasma gun fired in rapid succession, the shots narrowly missing Qie Xieling as he evaded each one with a dancer’s grace. Qie Xieling retaliated, unleashing a barrage of plasma bolts in her direction, but Bi Yu was equally agile, dodging and weaving through the chaos.

Their guns crackled with energy, lighting up the room in sporadic bursts of blinding light. The clash of their weapons reverberated through the palace, a symphony of destruction and fury. He fought with every ounce of his strength, but Bi Yu proved to be quite relentless. She couldn’t have been appointed a general of the Zeden Coalition army if she wasn’t powerful.

He lunged forward, abandoning his plasma gun and engaging Bi Yu in hand-to-hand combat. Their fists clashed, blows raining down on each other with bone-shattering force. The sound of their grunts filled the air as they fought for dominance.

Qie Xieling’s mind raced, searching for an opportunity to gain the upper hand. He landed a solid punch to her jaw, momentarily stunning her. In her years in the army, none dared hit her face. Hit everywhere else just not the face.

"You bitch!" she yelled.

Qie Xieling, "..."

She looked like a beast staring at him with a murderous expression. She lunged at him in rage but he seized the opportunity and swiftly grabbed her by the arm and twisted it behind her back, forcing her to her knees.

Breathing heavily he pressed his plasma gun against her temple and demanded, "Where is the prince?"

Her eyes flickered with defiance, but the pain in her arm was evident. She glared at Qie Xieling and spat, "You’ll never find him. He is mine now."

Qie Xieling’s grip tightened on the gun seething in anger. "He is going to die. His father is going to snatch his body. Whoever you will be marrying will not be him," he growled, his voice laced with a mixture of rage and desperation.

A moment of silence hung in the air as Bi Yu digested his words. Looking at his expression he looked so serious like he was telling the truth but she couldn’t accept his words. He was a criminal. A traitor to Zeden and a heartless bastard who killed people. Suddenly there was a fleet of drones flying over them before a rain of bullets showered down on them.

Bi Yu was momentarily shocked. Qie Xieling noticed her absentmindedness thus he pulled her towards a nearby statue to hide from the endless onslaught. Bi Yu’s mind finally came back to herself and she frantically tried to assess the situation.

She reached for her communication device, attempting to disable the drones and regain control as the general in charge. But to her dismay, her commands fell on deaf ears. She had been locked out of the system.

Confusion and frustration washed over her as she called her loyal admiral. "What is happening? Why can’t I control the drones?"

The admiral’s face was etched with worry as he replied, "General, the King’s Guard is controlling the drones. They’ve cut off your access."

The realisation struck Bi Yu like a lightning bolt. Her eyes widened, and anger mingled with a newfound clarity. The King was willing to do anything to eliminate Qie Xieling, without a care for the lives caught in the crossfire.

At that moment, General Bi understood the depths of the king’s ruthlessness. She had been nothing more than collateral—a disposable tool.

As the drones continued their relentless assault, Bi Yu glanced at Qie Xieling who was trying to look for an opening.

"Give it up... it’s useless. These drones have no flaws," she said but Qie Xieling ignored her. Just when he was contemplating running out a thought suddenly flashed in his mind. He remembered the encrypted data this character had to disable the drones. For him to do the stuff he did without getting caught for so long he had to have an ace underneath his sleeve. It was a long shot, but he had no other choice. He had to try.

"Give me your plasma rifle," he said and Bi Yu looked at him like he was crazy. "Hurry the fuck up," he continued and she hesitantly handed it to him. He just needed to hit one. Just one of them would gain him access to all of them. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

He set up the rifle and pulled the trigger striking one of them. Bi Yu sneered. "And here I thought you were one of the best sharpshooters. How disappointing... Hey, wait... where are you going!"

Qie Xieling dashed towards the fallen drone and the rest of the drones swarmed around him, their metallic shells glinting ominously in the dim light. Laser beams whizzed past his ears, narrowly missing their target. He had to act fast.
