Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 401: Dead men don’t speak...
Qie Xieling wasn’t the type to fight. Okay, that’s a lie. He had been in a couple of fights before but they weren’t unprovoked.
But right now, he really wanted to hit someone. The itch was deep in his soul and a storm was brewing but he restrained himself... well, sort of.
"Your Highness, we don’t want trouble... just come back with me," she said his voice getting softer and softer the more she spoke. It was dripping with honey making people’s ears itch.
Qie Xieling tightened his grip on Luo Muchen’s arm making him glance down. He saw that Qie Xieling’s knuckles had turned white from how tight his grip was. "General, you should come back in an hour. We are kind of busy here."
Bi Yu sneered as she drew her plasma sniper rifle and aimed it at him. "You actually have the fuckin audacity to speak," she said through gritted teeth. "Dead men don’t speak."
Qie Xieling, "..."
"So what am I? A fuckin ghost? I am obviously not dead," he said pointing at himself.
"I can make arrangements and finish off what I started," she said her finger on the trigger.
Qie Xieling wanted to use every disrespectful word he could think of but he restrained himself. If it weren’t for his upbringing and being taught to respect women he would have used the C word and the B word by now.
"Well General, your aim is shitty that’s why I survived the first time so go ahead... try it," he said further provoking her into a fight.
"You son of a bitch," she said as she took a step forward about to pull the trigger. Qie Xieling sneered showing his tiger tooth. He raised his plasma gun ready to shoot her foot. That should be enough to vent out his anger and revenge for her shooting him out of the sky but before his intrusive thought won, Luo Muchen grabbed his wrist stopping him.
Qie Xieling, "..."
This was the second time Luo Muchen had foiled his plan. The last time was when he wanted to attack the warship she was in and now this. He didn’t think he was extremely possessive until today.
His pupils trembling he said, "If you stop me now, I will leave," through gritted teeth. It felt like he had caught his man cheating only for his man to side with the other girl. Well, the situation wasn’t exactly like that but it sure as hell felt like that.
Luo Muchen froze and hesitated for a moment but he couldn’t let any harm come to General Bi.
"Your Highness step away from the pathetic excuse of a human being. He is trash that deserves to die," she said as she took a step forward.
Qie Xieling suddenly laughed sinisterly while he raised his hands in surrender. "You are right. I am a pathetic excuse of a human being," he said and Luo Muchen’s brows twitched and he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to go down. He had a very bad premonition.
Qie Xieling pressed the barrel of the gun against Luo Muchen’s temple. The weight of the situation hung heavily in the air, and he knew that his actions would have far-reaching consequences but he had no choice. If he wanted the both of them to get out of here fast this would be the only way. The soldiers surrounding them hesitated, unsure of how to respond to this unexpected turn of events.
With a steely determination in his eyes, he addressed the soldiers, his voice filled with controlled rage. "This pathetic excuse of a human has places to be. If you dare stop me his highness will pay the price." He tightened his grip on the chokehold, applying just enough pressure to remind everyone of the danger they were in.
"What are you doing? He won’t dare shoot his royal highness. Don’t let him escape," said Bi Yu seething in anger.
Qie Xieling smirked before he suddenly fired a shot at General Bi’s foot. The deafening sound echoed through the cave as the bullet pierced the air, finding its mark with terrifying accuracy. General Bi’s anguished scream filled the space, mingling with the shock and fear of the soldiers.
Qie Xieling’s voice cut through the chaos, his words laced with cold authority. "Like I said before, this pathetic excuse of a human will be leaving now. If you don’t want the prince dead, you will let us through." His gaze swept over the soldiers, daring them to defy him.
The soldiers, torn between their loyalty to General Bi and the potential consequences of harming the prince, hesitated for a moment. The king father had repeatedly emphasized the prince was to be unharmed.
The urgency in Qie Xieling’s actions was undeniable so they slowly began to part creating a path for Qie Xieling and Crown Prince Luo.
As they made their way through the ranks, a soldier instinctively moved to help General Bi, but Qie Xieling’s stern command stopped him in his tracks. "Uh-huh, don’t help her up. Leave her there to suffer," he sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. He wanted to ensure that she was in pain for as long as possible. He really held a big grudge against her.
With his plasma gun held high, Qie Xieling led Luo Muchen out of the cave, his grip firm and unyielding. Despite all of this Luo Muchen remained calm, his face reflecting a mix of emotions. He knew that this daring act was only to get them out of the situation but he had forgotten to tell Qie Xieling that they already had an exit strategy.
Together, they stepped out of the cave only for Bo Ailun and the others to appear with canisters filled with knock out gas.
"Ah captain," exclaimed Bo Ailun with a gas mask covering his face as he watched the two of them. It seemed the happy times didn’t last long because they were already holding each other hostage when a few hours ago they were kissing and blinding the entire populus with their romance. Maybe this was some sort of kinky role play.
Bo Ailun’s brow arched with a look of confusion. Qie Xieling shoved Luo Muchen away and stormed off.
Luo Muchen said, "Proceed with the plan... And let them all know that Rion burns tonight."
Bo Ailun, "..."
