Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 84 - 71: Duel
Aurianna’s voice was a mere whisper, as she gnawed on the lifeless husks of the trees around her. Her eyes darted around, scanning the desolate landscape for any signs of life, but all that greeted her was death and destruction.
"Something doesn’t make sense," Aurianna murmured, her voice laced with disbelief as she gnawed on the dead bodies of the trees.
Her thoughts swirled like a vortex, each one more convoluted and confusing than the last. She tried to unravel the mystery that suddenly worried her mind and had befallen the land, but the answer eluded her grasp.
"If Sandeph is filled with strong knights, why would they lose to the demons?" She questioned herself as she pondered hard. "Perhaps there is more to this than meets the eye," she muttered, her voice tinged with a sense of hint of amusement. "Even if their attack was unexpected," she mused, her eyes narrowing, "with Sandeph Knight’s strength they should have been able to fully defend themselves. Something doesn’t add up. In the past, I wasn’t on the front lines when the demons first attacked. So only when I was a Saintess before I joined the war later."
As Aurianna’s gaze flickered with sudden realization, memories of her past life as a Saintess flooded her mind. A surge of excitement coursed through her veins as she recalled the aftermath of the demonic invasion, the despair etched onto the faces of the survivors. She wasn’t on the front lines then, but as a Saintess, she had seen the aftermath of their carnage. And the despair they had on their faces now excited her.
A twisted smile crept across Aurianna’s face, as she chuckled softly to herself. The notion of pity, once a fleeting thought, now seemed laughable.
"I can’t believe I felt sorry for such fools," she sneered, her voice thick with contempt. "They brought this upon themselves. The humans kidnapped and enslaved the demon’s young, killing them without a second thought."
Her eyes flickered with a dangerous glint as she spoke, the darkness within her eyes growing stronger with every word. "And yet, when the demons fought back for their freedom, they were labeled as monsters. Such hypocrisy."
Aurianna’s lips curled into a smirk as she savored the bitter taste of humanity’s arrogance. "The truth is, humanity despises anything that challenges their so-called superiority. They are blinded by their own ignorance and greed."
"I must find out what happened before the next demon attack," she murmured, her voice low and menacing. "It will be a delight to uncover the truth."
Her grin widened, revealing a row of sharp teeth that gleamed in the dim light. Aurianna relished the thought of the chaos and destruction that lay ahead.
"I guess I must finish eating all of them before my time here ends," Aurianna grinned as her eyes narrowed with glee as she surveyed the pile of dead trees, their twisted forms contorted in agony. Her teeth gnashed on the decaying corpses of the trees, the taste of their rotting flesh sending shivers of pleasure down her spine. The forest around her seemed to tremble at the sound of her savagery.

Aurianna’s smug expression betrayed her eagerness for the impending duel. She turned to Leila with a glint of anticipation in her eyes. "Leila it’s finally our fifth day here, so now should we have our duel which has been extended for so long?" she purred, the excitement in her eyes burning with a fierce intensity.
"During my fourth day here, Carol spent the whole time training me, I wish she died," Aurianna said with dead eyes. As she spoke, memories of her fourth training day with Carol came flooding back, a shudder of revulsion coursing through her body.
Leila shuddered at the thought, her memories of the vicious trainer still fresh in her mind. "Same," she muttered, her voice low with dread. "I can still feel her claws ripping into my flesh."
Aurianna’s brow furrowed at the thought, a deep anger bubbling within her. ’I could never land a single attack on her or dodge any of her blows, no matter how hard I tried. She was like a pro fighter, her movements precise and deadly.’ she seethed, her fists clenching in frustration. ’It was as if she was toying with me, relishing in my suffering.’ As she spoke, her mind conjured up gruesome images of Carol’s claws cleaving off her head and limbs with brutal efficiency. The memory sent a shiver down her spine, but also a sense of determination.
"But can we blame her? She is a Death Harpy after all," Aurianna said, and she and Leila both sighed.
Leila shook her head, her voice heavy with regret. "We were fools to underestimate Carol," she admitted, the memory of their battle still fresh in her mind. Carol’s mastery of weapons was unmatched; she could wield them with deadly precision, by just looking at how her enemy wielded those same weapons and could use them better than her opponents.
Aurianna’s smug expression made Leila’s face twitch. "Don’t get too cocky," she growled, her eyes flashing with a bit of anger. "You couldn’t even lay a scratch on her, let alone dodge her attacks."
Despite the pain and fear that Carol’s training had inflicted upon them, Leila couldn’t deny that it had been a valuable experience. "I suppose it wasn’t all bad," she said with a weak smile, her voice barely concealing the trauma she had endured.
Leila offered Aurianna a congratulatory nod. "You’ve reached level 320, that’s quite impressive," she said.
Aurianna’s response was less enthusiastic, her arms crossed in front of her with a scowl. "Says the one who reached level 612," she snapped, her hint of jealousy towards her sister’s achievement apparent. "I’m sure the other Diamonds are quite surprised by our growth," she added, a prideful chuckle escaping her lips.
Despite her success, Leila couldn’t help but feel a tinge of disappointment. "I’m sad though because my growth has been much slower compared to yours," she lamented, dabbing at her eyes with fake tears, oblivious to Aurianna’s angry glare.
"Don’t be ungrateful," Aurianna growled, grabbing hold of Leila’s clothing tightly, her expression fierce as veins bulged on her forehead. "You fucking levelled up, so should be grateful!!"
"Aurianna," she said softly, shaking her head in disbelief. "You would grow quite ugly if you keep frowning like that."
"Do you want an early grave? Huh, miss smiley face," Aurianna growled and with a flick of her wrist, Aurianna summoned a weapon from the future - a sleek, deadly rifle that hummed with power. Pointing it at Leila’s head, Aurianna glared at her with a face that burned with a passive-aggressive smile.
"If you have the strength to do that, try in another ten years dear sister," Leila also gave a passive-aggressive smirk which pissed Aurianna off.
With a sudden movement, Aurianna pulled the trigger of her weapon, the sound of the shot echoing through the empty landscape around them. But it was all for naught, as Leila easily dodged the shot with the grace of a seasoned warrior.
Leila’s eyes glinted with a smug satisfaction as she gracefully sidestepped Aurianna’s clumsy attempt at violence. "You’re losing your touch, sister," she taunted, her voice laced with a hint of danger. "Perhaps you should spend less time obsessing over your appearance and more time honing your skills."
"Shall we continue with our duel, dear sister?" Leila summoned two light swords into her hands, the twin swords shining with an otherworldly white light. With a quicksilver grace, she dashed towards Aurianna, the swords whirling around her in a deadly dance.
Aurianna, unfazed by her sister’s display of power, smirked in response. "Of course, I would love to blow up that shitty mouth of yours," she growled, her voice thick with malice. With a flick of her wrist, a group of guns appeared around her, each one bristling with deadly intent.
"Hahaha try it," Leila’s laughter echoed through the barren wasteland as her sword sliced through the air, cleaving the ground beneath them in two. Aurianna, her senses honed by years of battle, managed to dodge most of Leila’s attacks, her guns blocking any blows that came too close.
"If you’re easily angered by such acts of provocation, you’ll be emotionally weak," Leila told Aurianna with a serious look.
"So should I be a smiley face like you?" Aurianna asked with a smile as she pointed her guns at Leila.
"To be honest, I love how expressive you are!" Leila slashed at Aurianna again, but she was able to once again dodge most of her attacks.
"You may be fast, sister, but speed alone will not win you this fight," Leila remarked with a cold, calculated stare. "Your emotions are your weakness, and I intend to exploit them to the fullest."
Aurianna merely smiled, her lips curling into a sinister smirk as she pointed her guns at Leila. "Oh, don’t worry, dear sister," she replied, her voice dripping with malice. "I’m not as easily provoked as you seem to think."
With a sudden flick of her wrist, Aurianna unleashed a barrage of gunfire at Leila, each shot crackling with a deadly energy. Leila, ever the skilled warrior, managed to dodge most of the shots, her movements graceful and fluid like that of a dancer.
With a sudden burst of energy, Leila vanished into thin air, only to reappear behind Aurianna in a flash of light. Catching her sister off guard, Leila delivered a swift and powerful kick to Aurianna’s back, sending her hurtling through the air, her body crashing into a nearby mountain with a sickening thud.
Aurianna’s body slammed into the hard rock with a sickening crunch, blood spewing from her lips as she gasped for air. The pain was excruciating, a searing agony that threatened to overwhelm her senses. But even as she lay broken and battered, a white glow covered her body and her body began to knit itself back together, her wounds healing at an almost supernatural speed. As the glow faded, Aurianna rose to her feet, her body fully restored to its former form. Her eyes blazed with a fierce determination, her willpower unbroken by the brutal assault.
Leila chuckled, her eyes gleaming with a sinister look. "Is that all you’ve got, dear sister?" she taunted Aurianna with a sinister edge to her voice. "Your aim is as pathetic as your face," she sneered, her words laced with venom. Aurianna’s eyes narrowed, her jaw clenching in anger as she felt the sting of Leila’s words. The air around them crackled with energy as the tension between the sisters grew thicker, their powers pulsing with an intense, light magic.
"I’m not done yet!!" With a fierce cry of rage, Aurianna a white space opened up in the sky and out emerged thirty huge crystal hands, each clutching a deadly weapon. The white hands hung ominously in the air, poised to strike at her sister with deadly precision.
Leila remained calm, her eyes focused on the incoming attack as she erected a shimmering shield of pure energy around herself. The barrage of gunfire struck the shield with a deafening roar, each shot ricocheting harmlessly off its impenetrable surface, but caused massive destruction to the surroundings.
Once the attack was over, Leila removed her shield and spotted a large blast heading her way and she smirked. Leila was not content to simply defend herself - with a fierce determination, she raised her two swords, their blades blazing with an intense white light. The swords hummed with a bright glow as Leila unleashed a devastating counter-attack, the blades slicing through the air with incredible speed and precision. As Aurianna’s blast hurtled towards her, Leila met it head-on, the swords crashing against the energy with an ear-splitting explosion of sound.
"Damn what skill was that?" Aurianna hissed through gritted teeth , her voice laced with both awe and terror as she watched her cleaved off left hand and her shoulder was bruning. In her right hand, the bazooka she wielded moments ago now glimmered with ethereal light and dissipated into the air.. Her hand immediately regenerated back normally.
But Leila, her opponent, showed no signs of slowing down. She charged forward with a spear, her eyes glinting with a savage determination.
Aurianna immediately summoned her sabers and blocked Leila’s attack, their weapons clashing and making sparks. With each passing moment, their strikes grew more deadly, the intensity of their combat only fueling their bloodlust.
Undeterred, Aurianna spun on her heel, her foot connecting with Leila’s gut in a ferocious kick. The force was enough to knock the wind out of her adversary, but she regained her footing and smirked with a wicked glint in her eyes. Aurianna aimed another kick at Laila’s head but Leila easily caught and smirked, "I win." She said as her spear glowed with a bright white light and she lifted Aurianna’s body into the air.
Aurianna struggled to break free from Leila’s iron grip, but it was all for naught; Leila’s grip was unbreakable, an unyielding vice that held her in place.
With a voice as cold as ice and as hard as steel, Leila spoke a single word. "Thousand cuts." And in an instant, Aurianna’s body was torn into a thousand pieces, each one a reminder of her defeat.
Aurianna’s eyes fluttered open, and she drew in a ragged breath as she rose from the ground. Her body ached, every muscle and bone protesting the ordeal she had just endured.
A rueful smile played at the edges of her lips as she surveyed the damage, the scars and bruises that marked her once-flawless skin had all disappeared, "I guess I lost this one," she murmured, her face red and her arms crossed as she pouted.
Leila couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of Aurianna. She was a seething mass of fury, her face flushed and her eyes narrowed to tiny slits. ’She really looked like an angry tomato cat,’ Leila mused, a grin spreading across her face. The way her sister’s face contorted with rage, her cheeks turning a vibrant shade of red - it was like watching an angry tomato come to life and sprout cat ears.
Aurianna shot her a withering glare, clearly unamused by Leila’s silent mockery. But Leila simply shrugged it off with a laugh.
