Chapter 81: Chapter 68: Training Talks

"Well I’m sorry," Carol apologized with a light bow.

Aurianna’s voice was sharp with accusation. "That didn’t look sincere at all!!" she shouted.

Ignoring Aurianna’s previous words, Carol asked her, "Why not train with me now that you have extra time in the domain prison?"

"I refuse," Aurianna replied firmly, glaring at Carol.

"What kind of training? Is it going to be like the last one?" asked Leila, curiosity lacing her voice.

"Leila, she’s bad news," Aurianna warned as she continued to glare at Carol.

"I know, but her training is always effective."

"I guess you’re right on that one," Aurianna sighed. "Since you asked, I shall indulge you both in your training sessions," she stated proudly, and Leila rolled her eyes.

"Narcissist," Carol commented with a smile.

"Now then, what kind of training would we be doing?" Leila asked.

Carol smiled as she picked up a slightly large tablet from a black space behind her and immediately disappeared after. She looked inside studying it closely before speaking, "Well, running, push ups, jumping, martial art training, weight lifts, and more." she listed off with enthusiasm as her fingers were scrolling through the screen at a very fast rate. "So are you ready?"

Aurianna asked with a scrutinizing gaze, "I still don’t understand why you would want to train us?"

"I’m bored," Carol replied with a cackle. "I’m going to make you two into monsters hohoho."

"She’s creepy," Aurianna frowned.

"Affirmative," Leila agreed.

"Don’t talk behind your teacher’s back!" Carol reprimanded them and sighed. She looked at the technological tablet in her hands and smirked, remembering her encounter with Eva before their training started.

Amid a murky forest, Carol perched on a branch, gnawing on some strange gray fruits. She looked down below to see the beast in the area were going crazy, killing each other off whiles others tried to kill themselves.

"I wonder what brings the almighty tin-head Eva here?" Carol grinned as she looked beside her to see a screen of Eva staring at her.

"Carol, can you please train two girls named Aurianna and Leila seriously for me?" Eva requested, and Carol’s eyes widened in surprise.

"And why would I do that?" Carol asked with a smile.

Eva looked at her coldly for a while before replying, "I would reduce your sentence in the Domain prison if you help them." Hearing Eva’s words, Carol perked up, and her expression brightened up.

"So...," Carol’s face lit up, and she stood up excitedly, "The all mighty Eva is requesting such a measly task from me, why’s that?"

"You already know the laws of my domain don’t permit me to enter it, but I can place others inside. So, since you’re one of the strongest people here, I would like you to train them. I’ve already developed a training plan for them for the thirty-six years they are going to be here every time they come here," Eva explained.

"Still to think you of all people would actually care about two measly girls," Carol commented still eyeing Eva warily.

"I mean due to some circumstances I became their servant, but it doesn’t mean I would act like a servant. Plus they aren’t bad kids, life just wasn’t nice to them," Eva said with a shrug before slowly touching her left eye.

"Life is not always rainbow and sunshine, bad stuff would happen to some people that would corrupt them, while others don’t experience anything bad," Saying those words Eva observed, noticing Carol’s pained expression.

"I guess we can agree on some stuff, dumb harpy."

"I have a name!!" Carol exclaimed, perturbed.

"Yeah, Carol." Eva responded nonchalantly.

"I guess I’ll train those two brats effectively for you, but why can’t you train them in the outside world or tell them what to do?" Carol questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"Ummm..." Eva muttered, nervously scratching her cheeks.

Carol chuckled, "You’re just socially awkward with talking to people, huh?"

"Says who???" Eva questioned with a flushed face.

"Well me duh," Carol pointed to herself, "I have been with you the longest, and your personality is not very likable. Even though you want to praise someone, you just insult them."

Eva’s voice was laden with defeat as she asked, "Am I really that terrible?" Carol silently nodded, and the air hung heavy with tension.

"You’re not so bad, you just need to express yourself more freely," Carol offered, and a small smile crept onto Eva’s face.

"Hmph. Fine, I’ll heed your advice on this one, Carol," Eva huffed, crossing her arms.

’Reminds me of someone,’ Carol thought as a blurry image of Aurianna popped up inside her head.

"Since we have a mutual agreement, why not shorten my sentence by 300 million years?" Carol proposed with a broad grin.

Eva pondered the proposal for a moment before adding, "Deal, but you still have to serve 900 million years."

"This is one of the reasons I hate you. Do you want me to grow old and die?!" Carol retorted.

"You should have thought about that before you slaughtered so many people," Eva said coldly.

"But it was exhilarating," Carol protested, pouting.

"You see, you don’t even feel remorse for your actions," Eva sneered.

"But you of all people should understand why. With people like Regals still out there, the universe is just hell. I actually don’t hate being here since I don’t have to deal with Regals all the time," Carol explained, leaning back on the tree. "I still hate the fact you became those bastards’ dog, but seeing you turn against them and cause disorder was fun to watch."

Eva’s expression darkened as she spoke with a sense of deep-seated anger. "Those bastards had it coming."

"So why do you want Aurianna and Leila to level up so fast?" Carol, curious about Eva’s intentions, asked.

Eva’s frown deepened as she responded, "Because I have a bad feeling about the worlds they inhabit."

Carol raised her voice and emphasized her words, "You better protect those two annoying brats, don’t coddle them too much. They need to learn on their own in order to increase their growth!"

Eva nodded in agreement, "Of course, they must grow on their own, I’ll just provide them aid when they truly need it. Oh, by the way, here’s the customized training plan I made for them. I had to let Leila and Aurianna fight on their own to determine their fighting style. Now I’ve made the best training course for them," Eva beamed as a tablet floated through the screen onto Carol’s hand, and she turned it on.

"It’s been a long time since I held a tablet," Carol mumbled as she turned it on. A cute version of Eva guided her on how to open the tablet and access the files on it. Carol then tapped two files that looked like Aurianna and Leila and quickly scrolled through them. After a few minutes, she nodded thoughtfully before turning the tablet off and looked up at Eva.

"Yo this is great, do you got some for me?!" Carol asked excitedly.

Eva shook her head, "No you have no need for one."

"Eva you’re so cruel, all the years we’ve been together," Carol cried dramatically and Eva rolled her eyes at Carol’s crocodile tears.

"I don’t care!" Eva retorted.

"Eva cares about some brats she met a few years ago, but she does care about me, a friend who has been with her for over 200 thousand years," Carol cried once more.

"Stop whining, I have to do something important, so take care of the girls for me."

"Sure I’ll make them become monsters haha haha," Carol assured her with a thumbs up.

"Well it doesn’t matter as long as they become strong enough to fight gods, so do what you must!" Eva instructed before the screen disappeared.

"Hah, Eva, sometimes you forget being a god slayer isn’t easy," Carol sighed as her wings sprouted, and she flew into the air.

*Sniff* *sniff* Carol took in deep breaths as she smelled the air from different directions and stopped at one.

"I guess that’s the direction those girls are at," Carol grinned and soared towards them with a sense of determination.

"Behold, our new sanctuary for sharpening our blades and honing our skills, aka our training equipment ground," Carol announced, her eyes glowing with pride as she gestured towards the barren expanse before them. The space was desolate, save for the neatly arranged dumbbells that lay scattered around the area.

Aurianna and Leila gazed in awe, their eyes wide with wonder as they surveyed the training ground. They were speechless, their minds reeling with the possibilities that lay before them.

"Well the whole space is our training ground, but this is where your equipment is. So then, should we start our training with Aurianna and Leila?"Carol continued, her voice heavy with emotion. "This is where you will find your weapons, your tools, and your training equipment. This is where I would help you hone your skills and body, to become strong."

Apart from seeing nothing but dumbbells and weapons, Aurianna and Leila stared blankly at Carol with an unimpressed look, but Carol still looked proud of herself.

"Don’t let the lack of decor fool you, I’ve got more installed for you both in the other areas," Carol stated with a sly smile, "Just look at your training programs here," Carol handed them a tablet. As they scrolled through the programs, Aurianna and Leila’s expressions shifted from impressed to approving nods.

"My, my," Aurianna said, her voice tinged with intrigue. "This time your training seems well thought out. I’m quite impressed."

"Like hell, I could come up with ideas like her," Carol revealed, her voice low and cryptic. "It’s all that metal for brains idea, and she improvised all the training set."

"Eva?" Aurianna blurted out and Carol nodded.

"Who else?" Carol stated with crossed arms.

Hearing that Eva was the one who had designed their training, Aurianna smiled a bit. She knew that Eva was brilliant, even if she was a bit odd and a narcissist.

"Now then you guys should wear these," Carol immediately placed ten round bracelets on them. Two on each of their arms, legs, and neck.

"They are so heavy!! What the hell are they? I feel like I’m carrying thirty droles, I can barely move!!" Aurianna exclaimed, struggling to lift her arms.

"Indeed, how are we supposed to train with these on?" Leila asked with a worried tone, the weight of the bracelets making her feel heavy.

Carol’s response was chillingly enthusiastic. "These bracelets are one of your training tools," she declared, a hint of excitement in her voice. "Since you’ll spend four days here in your real-world time. Thirty-six times four would be one hundred and forty-four years. So, we would spend these number of years training here and also that’s how long you’ll be training with these weights on.." Carol declared excitedly.

Aurianna couldn’t contain her annoyance. "So we won’t be fighting monsters or going on quests? Just training with these damn weights?" she grumbled. "Then how would we level up?" She asked in annoyance of not doing any battle but just training.

"Don’t worry," Carol reassured her, her voice echoing with a dark tone. "You’ll level up through your training. So now our first goal is for you two to train your bodies to withstand your quick growth, and for you girls to walk normally with those weights on. Remember, only I can remove those weights," she warned, her voice sending shivers down Aurianna’s spine.

’I really hate that Death Harpy,’ Aurianna thought angrily. However, as she recalled the memory of Carol effortlessly destroying the Void Reaver Queen, the embers of her frustration began to dim. Aurianna couldn’t help but feel a deep yearning for such immense power, and the idea of achieving it overshadowed her mild hatred for the Death Harpy.

"Why can’t we just kill monsters to grow stronger? These stupid weights won’t be of help!" Aurianna glared at her, frustrated with the situation.

"It doesn’t work like that," Carol shook her head, her smile turning sinister, "If you rely solely on battles to level up without training your body, your growth will falter. Your body won’t be able to keep pace with your level, so your body would deteriorate when you unleash large amounts of your magic."

Leila nodded in agreement and muttered, "Mages are known to die young, despite their incredible magic power and levels, but their bodies simply can’t handle the magic they wield."

Carol’s smile widened as she continued her explanation. "Warriors, on the other hand, train their bodies to perfection. They are the ones who can wield immense power without fear of their bodies giving out."

"That’s why mages tend to die earlier than warriors, despite some of them being extremely powerful." Aurianna continued.

"Such is the fate of mages," Carol replied with a hint of melancholy in her voice. "Their magical abilities may be awe-inspiring, but their bodies are fragile vessels, unable to withstand the immense power they wield. Warriors, on the other hand, have honed their bodies to perfection, making them able to harness their full potential without fear of deterioration."

"It’s kind of freaky that Carol is suddenly talking like a scholar," Aurianna said as she eyed Carol nervously, and Leila nodded in agreement.

"What did you guys take me for? A mere battle brute?" Carol asked and Aurianna and Leila nodded, causing her to cry inwardly. ’They are so cruel.’

Aurianna nodded, her face now serious. "I see now. We must train our bodies as well as our skills to become stronger."

"So how would the training be like for each of us, you know we don’t have the same class," Leila asked curiously and Carol smirked.
