Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 294 - 231: Nervon city
"Agreed. If you’re not strong enough, you can die," Ciel nodded, his tone serious.
"I thought we were immortal, though," LuXie questioned, her voice laced with confusion.
"Only if you reach level 5000," Gilgamesh clarified, a hint of amusement in his voice.
"Oh, I see," LuXie replied.
"I hope you all know that once you become World Eaters, you’ll become gods with certain responsibilities," Gilgamesh stated, his voice turning serious.
"I don’t want that," Aurianna whined, her face scrunched up in displeasure.
"But it’s our destiny as Gemaris," Gilgamesh countered, though his words seemed to fall on deaf ears.
"That’s such a pain," Huns scoffed, his disinterest evident.
"Then why grow stronger, then?" Gilgamesh challenged.
"So that no one would bully me," Yuli admitted, her voice soft.
"I just like killing," LuXie stated bluntly, an evil glint in her eyes.
"I want to protect someone," Adam confessed, her voice filled with sincerity.
"Same for me," Polyra echoed, her gaze distant.
"I don’t want others to suffer injustice," Kazuki declared, his voice resolute.
"That’s alright, then. No matter your reasons, as long as you don’t become enemies of each other," Gilgamesh concluded, his tone understanding.
"Ehh, why?" Aurianna questioned, her curiosity piqued.
"There’s no benefit in that. You literally can’t take another Gemaris’ gem," Gilgamesh explained.
"But Iris has two," Leila pointed out.
"That’s why I said she’s an anomaly. Countless children had to die for my mother to make her," Gilgamesh revealed.
"How many, to be exact?" LuXie asked curiously.
"Iris is the result of years of experimentation. Exactly one million children were sacrificed to create her. Not even a Gemaris could withstand the power of two gems, but she can. A few years after I was born, Iris was finally completed," Gilgamesh explained.
"Hmm, alright then. I guess we’ll all work together in the near future," Leila conceded, her tone thoughtful.
"Well, I’m off," Aurianna announced, rising from her seat.
"Bye," Leila replied.
"See you later, Leila," Aurianna said.
"Same for you, Aurianna," Leila returned.

Aurianna gasped, her eyes snapping open to a strange, watery environment. Her body was encased in a cocoon, which had just shattered, and now released her. After Eva brought a piece of her space to the real world she manages to speed up the process from 1 year to merely ten days. Peter, a familiar figure, stood nearby, his expression a mix of shock and concern.
"Aurianna, you’re awake!" he exclaimed.
"How long have I been asleep?" Aurianna asked, her voice cracking.
"Ten days," Peter replied, keeping his distance.
"Damn, I barely got any sleep, too," Aurianna sighed, her voice filled with frustration.
’I thought it would be one year though,’ Aurianna thought.
’I managed to speed up the process a bit faster. And I manged to learn a lot from it. However it took a lot of energy for me so I’ll be sleeping for a while,’ Eva explained to Aurianna.
’Thanks Eva and rest well.’
"Huh?" Peter questioned, confused.
"Never mind that, but where the hell are my clothes?!" Aurianna exclaimed, panic starting to set in. However, she quickly calmed down, realizing that her long hair covered most of her body.
"Here, take my coat," Peter offered, draping his coat over Aurianna’s shoulders.
"Please escort her to the bath and get her dressed," Peter instructed the maids who had appeared, signaling them to take Aurianna away.
The maids gently lifted Aurianna, who was still a bit weak, and carried her to a nearby room. After a refreshing bath and a change of clothes, plus a haircut, Aurianna felt much better.
Aurianna was then led to the dining room where Peter and the others were waiting for her. A sumptuous meal was laid out on the table.
"Haha, I feel so fresh and my hands and legs have healed too," Aurianna said happily as she ate her meal.
"What happened for you to end up like that? In that cocoon I mean." Batholem wondered, his gaze filled with concern.
"Evolution, I guess," Aurianna replied nonchalantly.
"I see, I see. I’m just glad you’re better now," Batholem said, relieved.
"Thanks," Aurianna replied, smiling.
"Hmm, want to explore the city today?" Peter suggested.
"Well, I guess I can before I leave," Aurianna said.
"Leave?" Peter asked, his voice filled with surprise and a hint of sadness.
"Yeah, I have some stuff to do back in my home country," Aurianna explained.
"Alright then. While we’re exploring the city, I can arrange for us to use the teleportation tower. It’s mainly used for long-distance travel, don’t worry, I’ll cover the cost," Batholem offered generously.
"You’d really do that, Batholem? You’re such a good friend!!!" Aurianna exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with gratitude.
"I’m glad," Batholem replied, his face flushed with a mix of embarrassment and happiness.
"What plans do you have? And also, Kielbasa said that you must be in your country before the month ends because they would be holding your Saintess coronation for you," Elena said excitedly.
"I see," Aurianna replied, her tone turning cold.
"Also, can I ask what the High God was talking about with you? You seemed so uncomfortable when speaking with him and that marble he gave you," Zeche asked curiously.
"Hmm, you all couldn’t understand what he said?" Aurianna asked.
"No, not at all. But with what Azarath was saying, I was able to understand bits and pieces," Zeche replied.
"Also, I have a question. Do you have time magic?" Peter asked, his curiosity piqued.
"Yes, I do. Satisfied?" Aurianna replied, a playful smirk on her lips.
"I didn’t think you’d tell me the truth," Peter said, his eyes widening in surprise.
"Do I seem like someone who lies? I’m always honest about my intentions," Aurianna retorted, her tone sharp.
"And your age?" Juvin asked, his voice filled with curiosity.
"Well, my mind is 27 years old," Aurianna replied, a mischievous grin on her lips.
"Still so young," Peter sighed, ruffling Aurianna’s hair.
"What! You’re just too old!!" Aurianna protested, playfully swatting his hand away.
"I’m not!" Peter retorted.
"Heh," Aurianna chuckled.
"Wait, how’s she 27 years old?" Elena exclaimed, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Were you even listening to what they were saying at the World Summit?" Shuwi sighed, shaking her head.
"Nah, I was too focused on how scary the High God looked," Elena admitted sheepishly.
"So, what did you reverse time for?" Christopher asked, curious.
"I’d rather not say," Aurianna replied, her voice evasive.
"She seems very hostile regarding that topic," Peter muttered, his brow furrowed.
"So, Aurianna, Azarath also talked about you being the High God’s niece, and that space, and the monster that tried to chop off your head, and the girl who stopped it. Everything is very confusing to understand," Juvin stated, his voice overwhelmed.
"And the races stronger than the High god," Peter added with a nod.
"Yeah, I’m not so sure about that," Aurianna replied, her gaze drifting away.
’She’s a horrible liar,’ they all thought, their suspicions growing.
"I’ll wait for the time you’re ready to tell me," Peter said, his voice gentle.
"Thanks. But even I’m actually confused about what race the High god is. But I hope he’s not the one I think he is," Aurianna confessed, her voice and face fooled with nervousness.
’They are coming,’ Iris’s words echoed in Aurianna’s mind, causing her to frown.
"Well, he didn’t seem hostile," Christopher blurted out.
’I wish I could join in, but I wasn’t at the World Summit,’ Batholem thought, his eyes welling up with tears from being left out of the conversation.
"Yeah, but that man is crazy," Aurianna muttered, her voice barely audible.
"Well, that’s a fact," Juvin agreed, a wry smile playing on his lips.
_____
A few hours after their meal, Peter, Aurianna, Batholem, Shuwi, Juvin, Zeche, Christopher, Elena, Hadina, Jade, Jugi, Avriel, and Zagan stepped out from the carriage into the vibrant streets of Nervon City. The city was just beautiful and filled with unique Elven architecture. Towering, ancient trees filled the place but there was enough space to walk and carriages to pass. The trunks of some trees were beautifully sculptured elf statues.
Lush, emerald coloured canopies were all over the streets and filtered sunlight, casting dappled shadows on the cobblestone paths
The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers.
The buildings themselves were very different compared to the ones normally seen in human dominated countries.
Some were shaped like flowers, others were shaped as mini castles.
"Wahhh, Nervon City is totes beautiful!" Avriel beamed, her eyes wide with wonder as she gazed around.
"For an Elven country, it’s surely advanced," Aurianna commented, her gaze drawn to the floating carriages gliding effortlessly through the air.
"Ahh, I totes wanna check that clothing store. I need more clothes!" Avriel squealed, pointing excitedly at a boutique with a stunning display of garments.
"It’s not necessary," Aurianna dismissed, her tone flat.
"You’re totes mean! You got a bunch of clothes when I barely have anything but old clothes!" Avriel pouted, her lower lip jutting out.
"Fine, get what you want," Aurianna relented, rolling her eyes.
"I’m going with her," Jugi declared, eager to join the shopping spree.
"Me too," Jade chimed in.
"Just make sure you three meet me back at the tower," Aurianna instructed, a sigh escaping her lips.
"You should go with them too, Hadina," Aurianna suggested.
"What? Why, Master?!" Hadina exclaimed, surprised. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"You need some new clothes as well. Take this money to spend on yourself," Aurianna said, handing Hadina a small pouch filled with gold coins.
"Ahhhh, thank you!" Hadina beamed, her eyes lighting up with gratitude before she dashed off to join the others.
"Where’s that boy, Demetrius, anyway?" Aurianna wondered, suddenly remembering the young demon boy she saved.
