Chapter 287: Chapter 274: Knows too much

"And if my knowledge serves me correctly," he continued with a grin, "you’re 27 years old, right?"

Her frown deepened, her fists clenching at her sides. ’How long has this man been watching me?’ she thought, her mind racing. ’He knows way too much.’

"Yes, I reversed time. So what?" Aurianna snapped, her voice defiant and cutting through the oppressive atmosphere. "If I have that kind of power, why wouldn’t I use it? What fool would leave themselves to die if they had a choice?"

"Aurianna, you idiot! Do you want to get yourself killed?!" Eva’s voice screamed in her mind.

"He’s running his mouth way too much," Aurianna scoffed telepathically, her annoyance spilling into her thoughts. "And his cocky attitude is really pissing me off. I had to say something."

Eva’s panic shifted into alarm. "This is bad. He knows way too much—more than I ever thought possible. I was certain I concealed everything. What the hell is he? Should I reverse time again?"

Before Aurianna could respond, Azarath blurted out. "Wait a second," she said, her brow furrowed as her gaze lingered on Aurianna. "She’s 27? But her body is clearly that of a 13-year-old." She crossed her arms, her tone sharper as she continued. "And reversing the ’entire world’s’ time is nearly impossible... unless it was you."

The High god’s lips curled into a

smirk, "Well, it wouldn’t be impossible if her Jewel is extraordinarily strong," he said with a shrug. He tilted his head, eyes sparkling. "Still, I wonder... If ’I’ reversed time to save your life, would you be grateful? Or would you simply recover your memories and return to glaring at me?"

His cheeky tone earned him a sharp glare from Aurianna, but he seemed entirely unbothered.

Meanwhile, Barbados, mind raced. ’I knew it. I knew something was off with the world’s time flow. And now I know why.’ His gaze darted to the High god, his eyes narrowing. ’I just need to meet the one who was able to use such high level time magic!!’

"Don’t worry," the High god said, patting Aurianna on the head gently. "I won’t harm you. Stop shaking. Just don’t go messing with the world’s time again, alright? It muddles my memories a bit, and I ’do’ find that quite irritating."

"Okay," Aurianna replied cautiously.

Internally, however, her relief was palpable. ’Yes, thank you! I’m not going to die!’

"But..."

Before anyone could react, his hand shot forward, his finger stabbing cleanly through Aurianna’s forehead.

"I need to see what rank you’ll achieve in the future," the High god said, his eyes gleaming with curiosity. His finger twisted slightly in Aurianna’s forehead, and her eyes immediately lost their light. A glowing number appeared within her irises, slowly climbing.

At first, the High god chuckled, amused by the initial reading. But his amusement turned to surprise as the number continued to rise, climbing higher and higher until it finally landed at ’’1’’.

"Rank 1?" he muttered, his voice laced with disbelief. "That’s... impossible." His brows furrowed, but the frown was short-lived, quickly replaced by a wide grin of satisfaction. He removed his finger, and Aurianna slumped slightly before regaining consciousness, blinking as if waking from a dream.

"This is better than I thought," he mused, stroking his chin with a smug expression.

’What the hell did he do? My head feels like it’s splitting open,’ Aurianna thought, glaring at him as she massaged her temples.

"There’s no doubt about it," the High god said. "You’re truly a being of perfection. Hyahahahaha!" His laughter echoed around the room.

Before Aurianna could respond, he reached into his robe and pulled out a shimmering blue marble, holding it out to her. "Here, take this."

She eyed it warily, her irritation flaring. "A marble? For what?"

His grin widened. "Well, you destroyed a Ruin, after all, so consider this my ’gift’ to you! It’ll help you."

"Thanks, I guess..." Aurianna muttered, trying to muster a hint of gratitude despite her skepticism.

"Swallow it. Right now," the High god demanded, his voice suddenly sharp and authoritative.

"Ah, no thanks. I don’t want to take it now," she said, shaking her head with a nervous laugh.

"I said take it." His voice turned icy, his eyes narrowing.

"Yes, sir," Aurianna replied meekly, grabbing the marble and tossing it into her mouth. She swallowed with a grimace, fully expecting the worst.

To her surprise, her face lit up. "It’s... delicious!" she exclaimed, her tone genuine.

The High god smirked, satisfied. The other gods in the room, however, exchanged uneasy glances.

"You don’t feel hungry anymore, do you?" the High god asked, his tone almost casual.

Aurianna blinked, realizing he was right. "Yeah, I don’t!" she said, startled.

’This is strange...’ she thought. ’I’ve always felt this gnawing hunger, but now... I feel fine?’

"You’ve always had an insatiable hunger, haven’t you? A need to devour other beings, and no matter how much you eat you never felt satisfied," the High god continued, his eyes boring into hers. "Isn’t that right?"

"I... I don’t know," Aurianna stammered.

’What the hell was that thing?’ she wondered. ’To think his marble actually stopped my hunger!’

Azarath, watching, clenched her fists as unease filled her chest. ’How is she able to eat the High god’s marble and survive?’ she wondered, her gaze fixed on Aurianna. ’Even I wouldn’t dare touch one of those things, let alone swallow it. And yet he just handed it to her like it was nothing.’

[ Too many souls being consumed! Your body cannot handle this influx. ]

The notification blared in Aurianna’s mind, and she collapsed to the ground, her body trembling violently as a wave of overwhelming pain wracked her.

[ ’System will now distribute some of these souls to your sister.’ ]

Her eyes widened in shock. ’Souls? That marble was filled with souls?! Just how many souls did he give me?’ The questions swirled in her mind, but the agony was too consuming to focus.

"Oh, seems like that was a bit much for you," the High god said with a mocking grin, crouching beside her. "But hey, you’re not dying, so it’s all good, right?"

Before Aurianna could retort, black chains erupted from her body. They coiled around her like serpents, tightening with every moment, forcing her to the brink of unconsciousness.

The High god’s eyes gleamed with interest. Without hesitation, he grabbed the chains, his hand glowing faintly. With a single squeeze, several of them shattered.

The entire space around them trembled and warped, shifting into a dark, desolate landscape. Enormous black chains swirled in the sky, intertwining with jagged rocks and crimson mist that reeked of death.

"Ohhh, the Executioner’s graveyard," the High god mused. "Looks like your dear mother wasn’t too fond of you, huh? Went as far as creating this to kill you." He chuckled, completely unfazed.

"Where are we?" Phil stammered, his voice filled with dread as he was still seated on his chair.

Before the High god could answer, a voice boomed coldly. "Do not interfere."

The speaker revealed herself—a towering figure draped in pure darkness, wielding a massive axe. Her presence was suffocating. Her eyes glared down at them with murderous intent.

The High god smirked, unperturbed by her. "Sorry, I’m going to have to step in. Can’t have her dying just yet, you see."

The shadow woman roared, her voice filled with fury, "Then I shall take your head!" With a deafening war cry, she swung her massive axe down, aiming to cleave him in two.

The High god merely raised a hand, and the axe stopped mid-swing, frozen in place as though caught by an invisible force. He chuckled lightly. "Oh, you’re stronger than I expected—for a mere seal, that is....Impressive."

Before he could retaliate, another person appeared. Out of the void, purple chains shot forward, coiling around the shadow woman’s massive body and halting her movements. A new figure appeared—a young woman cloaked in darkness, wielding a scythe.

The shadow woman’s furious gaze snapped to the young woman. "You..." she growled, her voice trembling with hatred.

"Mother," the scythe-wielder said, her voice devoid of emotion, "be gone." With a single, precise slash, the shadow woman was cut into nothingness, her presence vanishing entirely. The chains around Aurianna released her, and she collapsed, gasping for air.

Aurianna’s blurred vision locked onto the cloaked figure. Her aura was familiar, unmistakable. ’Is that... Iris?’ she wondered, her mind racing as her body slowly got better. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Iris’s eyes briefly met the High god’s. His playful demeanor faded, replaced by a rare and unsettling scowl. Before he could say a word, Iris disappeared into the shadows as swiftly as she had come. And the graveyard disappeared as well. Everything around them returning back to normal.

"As I thought—you’re related to that annoying brat," the High god blurted out. He scooped up Aurianna effortlessly, ignoring her protests as she struggled to catch her breath. Blood streamed from her eyes, staining her cheeks. His body was larger now, though still small compared to his real size.

"You’re her sister, aren’t you?" he asked, his eyes narrowing as he stared at her.

"I have no idea what you’re talking about," Aurianna snapped, her voice hoarse as she forced herself to meet his gaze.

"Don’t play coy," he said with a dry chuckle. "Now that I’m looking properly, you bear a striking resemblance to her. So... there are three of you, hmm?" He tilted his head. "Tell me, how many of your kind are still alive?"

"I don’t know," Aurianna muttered, turning her face away.

’She’s a terrible liar,’ Azarath thought nervously, beads of sweat forming on her brow. She didn’t dare speak, but the High god’s probing questions were starting to unsettle her.
