Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 265 - 251: Loser of war
Demetrius took a deep breath, his tone calm as he spoke. "I know a lot about it. My former master was an assistant host in the Flokong Organization, so he took me with him everywhere. I have a very good memory, so I remember the entire layout." His hands balled into fists as he recalled his past. "That’s the very reason why he kept me around. I was to just to help him with his work." He finished grabbing his palms tightly. The thought of his former master was enough to repulse him.
Aurianna’s expression shifted, and she looked at him with interest. "You actually know the layout?"
Demetrius nodded, the grip on his hands tightening, but his voice steady. "Every room, every exit, and every security detail I could see. I remember it all."
"Aurianna, is he telling the truth?" Saem asked, eyes fixed on her as she silently watched Demetrius, her expression unreadable.
"Yes, he’s telling the truth," Aurianna confirmed, her tone.
Saem’s face broke into a grin. "Then I guess we’ve got ourselves a mini-map, huh?"
Aurianna exchanged a knowing look with Saem, a glint of satisfaction flickering in her eyes. "Well, Demetrius," she said, her smile laced with irony, "seems you’re about to be more useful than I originally expected."
Demetrius leaned forward, his gaze desperate. "I know it’s rude of me to ask, but... could you save my family too?" His voice cracked.
Aurianna rolled her eyes, her patience fraying. "I saved you, and now you want me to save your whole family? Do I look like a charity?"
Demetrius bowed his head, his voice trembling. "I know... it’s selfish of me. But you’re strong—and you’re the first person who’s even bothered to care when no one else did. Please, I’m begging you!" He slid off his chair, kneeling before her.
Aurianna shook her head, gesturing dismissively. "Get up. Don’t beg me; beg the Royal Humans over there." She pointed as two figures entered the hotel, catching the eyes of everyone around, but they maintained their distance.
Peter and Batholem, strolled toward them. Demetrius’s gaze turned icy. "Filthy scum," he muttered, his eyes narrowing with disdain.
Noticing the change in atmosphere, Batholem raised a brow. "Is there something we’ve done?"
Demetrius stood, his voice laced with bitterness. "I know of Royal Humans who visited the slave camps. They saw us, suffering, but did nothing. Justice—what is it? Does it only apply to humans?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Batholem stiffened, a flicker of anger in his eyes. "You can’t just paint us all with the same brush because of a few cowards."
"I’d be careful," Saem chimed in, grinning. "After all, this lady here is probably worse than those two combined."
Aurianna shot him a glare. "Annoying, Saem. Don’t push it."
Peter cleared his throat, glancing at the new faces around the table. "So... who are the newcomers?"
Aurianna gestured to Saem. "This is Saem, a sailor I traveled with. He’s got people he wants to rescue from that Flonkong organization. And yes, he’s part of my group."
"Saem, this is Peter Diondraff and Batholem Hupan," Aurianna introduced with a casual wave of her hand.
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Your Highnesses," Saem greeted them, bowing deeply, his posture marked with respect.
"Be at ease," Batholem said, lifting a hand to ease the formalities.
"If it doesn’t trouble you, then I shall," Saem replied, straightening. He gestured to the empty chairs. "And please, help yourselves to these seats."
"Of course," Peter replied, sitting down with a polite nod.
Saem’s face grew serious as he turned to Demetrius. "I have to ask—how did it even come to this? How could slavery exist on such a massive scale? From the information I gathered, they have more than two hundred thousand slaves. It’s... beyond disturbing."
Demetrius’s expression darkened, and his voice dropped, as though reliving a nightmare. "It all began with those wars," he murmured. "When a country falls, the soldiers don’t just stop at conquest. They attack the nearby towns and villages, taking everything. The women... they’re captured, violated in every way imaginable, just so those men can vent their damn sexual frustrations." His fists clenched, knuckles whitening. "Men were slaughtered and even the children weren’t spared from the abuse and slaughter. Some were even forced to witness what was happening. Parading with the heads of their family members on stakes, before they’re dragged away. And the ones who survive... are herded like cattle and they’re sold like animals, and traded as slaves."
’With such detail I’m sure this happened to him,’ Saem thought with a grim expression.
A tense silence settled over the table, and Demetrius turned to glare at Peter and Batholem, his voice filled with scorn. "I can’t stand how people like you preach about justice yet do nothing to uphold it. Royal Humans are nothing but liars, hiding behind titles while the innocent suffer."
Peter’s expression remained calm, though a slight frown crossed his face. "There are rules that must be followed, no matter how much we wish otherwise."
Aurianna snorted, a mocking smile tugging at her lips. "Then just break those damn rules."
"Rules are made by the strong to manage the weak," Saem added, leaning back with a smirk. "Those who make the rules can break them too. Seems to me like you two could do a little more than just follow along."
Peter’s gaze hardened. "Even we Royal Humans answer to those who hold power over us."
"Let me guess—the churches?" Aurianna scoffed, crossing her arms.
Batholem nodded, his face tense. "Yes... they wield alot of influence."
Aurianna’s laugh rang out, low and laced with venom. "Chi, chi, chi... lalalalalala!" Her eyes sparkled with a dangerous glint. "One day, every single one of those churches will fall. Mark my words."
"You can’t say things like that, Aurianna. What if someone hears you?" Batholem cautioned, his voice barely above a whisper.
Aurianna smirked. "Relax. I’ve got a barrier around me at all times. No one hears anything I don’t want them to."
Batholem let out a breath of relief, but Aurianna’s gaze shifted to Peter, a sly grin tugging at her lips. "So, Peter," she said smoothly, "what do you say? Are my words right? You’re the one who can see the future, after all."
Peter stiffened, his eyes narrowing. "I can’t reveal that. Sharing future knowledge... it could get me killed. And besides, the future isn’t set in stone. It shifts with every choice we make."
Aurianna chuckled. "Fair enough. Guess I’ll have to wait and see."
Batholem glanced at her, curiosity overcoming his caution. "But why say that, Aurianna? Why all this talk of bringing down the churches?"
She crossed her arms, a flicker of hatred crossing her face. "The Church of Beauty," she spat, her voice laced with contempt. "I hate them the most. That goddess they worship is nothing but a narcissistic bitch."
Batholem tilted his head thoughtfully. "That’s fair. If the Church of Beauty doesn’t suit you, perhaps the Church of Light or the Church of Peace would be more... aligned with your interests?"
Aurianna shook her head with a shrug. "Nope. I’m not interested in any of them. Not now, anyway."
"That’s all right," Batholem stated.
"But I don’t think I can save your family. That would be a lot of work," Aurianna said calmly staring at Demetrius.
’I wanted to eat the souls of the slaves there but at the same time I want them to join Vatium’s army. So frustrating to think about,’ Aurianna thought with a frown.
