Chapter 173: Chapter 159: Hunting

The corridor echoed with a guttural roar as the colossal boar crawled on the walls with menacing intent. It then launched itself, its wide maw poised to bite at Aurianna. Yet, before its fangs could reach her, Zagan transformed into a large spike, impaling the creature through its gut. The ensuing roar of pain reverberated through the surroundings, causing the entire place to tremble.

Aurianna swiftly seized the opportunity, her gun barking a resounding "Bang!" The bullet shattered a tusk, sending the boar crashing to the ground beside her. Zagan, having reverted to his cat form, agilely climbed the walls.

Struggling to rise, the boar attempted to employ its leg as a weapon against Aurianna, slashing at her. However, she discerned its intentions promptly. "Cube of light!" she commanded, summoning twenty luminous cubes that shot light and pierced the creature’s body, creating a dazzling display of lights in the darkness. Red blood splattered on the ground, and the wounded monster glared at Aurianna before its mouth emitted a bright glow. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Aurianna, anticipating the impending danger, jumped to a higher vantage point just as the boar exhaled a torrent of flames, engulfing the entire area. Observing the creature’s resilience, Aurianna remarked, "It’s quite sturdy," while perched atop a floating bazooka.

Executing a mid-air spin kick, she delivered a powerful blow to the boar’s head, causing the ground to tremble and the creature to collapse, motionless. Its head crushed, only a heap of pulped meat remained.

"Finally, it’s dead, and now we have some meat!" Aurianna exclaimed, seemingly unfazed by her bloodied legs.

"Master, we can’t eat yet," Zagan cautioned from Aurianna’s shoulder.

"Oh yes, I have to bring the game back to camp to prove that I hunted it," Aurianna grumbled. "What a pain, and I feel so hungry too," she added with a whine.

"Then let’s hunt for more, so we can eat all when we return!" Zagan suggested, eliciting a beaming response from Aurianna.

"Then let’s go!" she declared.

"Master, wait," Zagan interjected, drawing attention to a silver treasure chest nearby.

"Ohh a treasure chest!" Aurianna beamed and she immediately rushed to it and opened it but when seeing the contents her face turned to one of disappointment. Inside the chest were a few silver coins, some weapons and some potions.

"What do I need this trash for?" Aurianna grunted with frown.

’Trash? Master humans would kill each other for this trash.’ Zagan face palmed.

"I’ll just keep it in case," She blurted out before placing it in her inventory. "The monster would probably respawn again, but I don’t have time to wait. Let’s leave." but after a while of standing there Aurianna was starting to see circles seeing so many holes and staircase spiraling above.

As they stood amidst the labyrinthine surroundings, Aurianna, feeling a bit lost, called out to Zagan. "Please escort me out. Not that I have directional problems or anything, just that I’m too lazy to find my own way!"

"Okay, master," Zagan agreed, transforming into a monster as Aurianna rode on his back.

During this time Aurianna and Zagan hunted many monsters together causing Zagan to feel more happy than usual due to the time he was spending with his master.

"Ah, we’ve hunted so many monsters," Aurianna sighed triumphantly after slaying the room’s boss. She stored the corpse in her inventory and mounted Zagan as they ascended to the first floor.

"Now, let’s move on to the next one," she declared. However, her plans were interrupted when she encountered a familiar, unwelcome face.

"Princess Aurianna, is that you? What are you doing here?" Dwane inquired, surprised.

"Well, isn’t it a pleasure to see Prince Dwane here," Aurianna retorted sarcastically, her gaze cold and unyielding.

Dwane’s attempt to assert himself only met with Aurianna’s dismissive disdain, "Do I look like I need your protection? Scram, kid."

Dwane gritted his teeth and gripped his fist causing him to tell. "How dare you disrespect me? Don’t you know your status?"

Aurianna’s tone was frigid as she confronted Dwane, drawing closer to him with a palpable air of disdain. "My status? What do you mean by that?" she inquired.

Dwane, attempting to assert himself, brushed off the fear that had initially gripped him. His voice carried an angry edge as he proclaimed, "You’re a princess of the new HighLand, while the Shinia Highland has stood for generations and is soon to evolve into an empire!"

Unfazed, Aurianna replied coldly, "Guess what, I don’t give a shit," causing Dwane’s countenance to contort further.

With a measured stride, she positioned herself at his side, adopting a disdainful tone. "You’re nothing more than a mere brat. Why, then, would you seek to be engaged with me? Is it my face? Do you have any understanding of my personality? You don’t. You merely covet an increase in power to secure the position of crown prince, am I correct?" she challenged.

"How dare you speak to our prince like that?" One of the guards erupted furiously, unwilling to tolerate Aurianna’s provocations any longer.

"Eva, please deal with the vision security Meimus," Aurianna said telepathically to Eva, observing a black mechanical bat floating above her.

"Sure!" Eva agreed, and the vision of the Meimu changed to display Aurianna passing by Dwane and leaving the dungeon.

"Also, shut your mouth when I speak, commoner," Aurianna declared coldly, leaving the knight momentarily dazed. Swiftly, a floating gun aimed at his back fired, the shot finding its mark in his heart, causing him to crumple lifeless to the ground.

Dwane, opening his eyes in surprise, turned his head to see the lifeless body of his knight on the ground, the large hole on his back, blood, and guts staining the ground. The other five knights pointed their weapons at Aurianna in response.

"He’s dead, but he’s a High Human," Dwane muttered fearfully. "That footage wasn’t fabricated?" he queried nervously.

"You mean the stream? Seriously, use your damn brain. Do you think humanity possesses the technology to forge imagery?" Aurianna responded with evident annoyance.

"Master, what should we do? If we report her, she could face punishment," a knight advised.

"Don’t presume to instruct me!" Dwane snapped, glaring at Aurianna.

With a menacing smile, Dwane resorted to threats, revealing his true colors. "Seems with that pretty face, you’re just a wench inside. When I return to my country, I’ll ensure you’re sold to some repulsive old pervert. Your father would likely sacrifice a daughter for peace between powerful nations," he declared with a deranged smile.

Aurianna’s gaze turned colder, and she ordered, "Zagan, kill those knights." Instantly, Zagan’s spikes pierced the knights’ throats, their bodies convulsing for a few seconds before ceasing movement.

Dwane, bewildered, stammered, "How? They’re among the best knights in my country," Dwane muttered, his eyes trembling.

"Chi, chi, chi," Aurianna giggled with a smile that sent chills down Dwane’s spine. "The human body is fascinating. No matter how strong or high level their defense is, caught off guard, even a child’s stab to a vital area can be fatal," she explained, walking nonchalantly over the fallen knights and stumping on their bodies before shaking her leg.

"Back to the previous conversation, Prince Dwane. Am I not correct, Prince Dwane, about your ambitions for the crown prince title? As the fourth prince, what right do you have to inherit the throne? You’ll likely perish in the power struggle unless you marry a princess from an equally powerful country to support you," she stated, leaving Dwane trembling. ’How did she know?’

"You..." Dwane seethed, glaring at her.

"Why did you kill my knights?" he demanded angrily.

"Merely disposing of witnesses," Aurianna replied with an evil grin before delivering a forceful kick to Dwane’s gut, surprising him. He soared several meters, crashing into the wall and vomiting blood as he looked up at Aurianna with fear.

"Prince Dwane met a strong monster while on a hunt and was tragically ambushed and killed," Aurianna scripted a scenario.

"I’ll inform my father!" Dwane yelled defiantly through bloody teeth. "You’ll regret this dearly! I haven’t done anything to deserve this hostility from you," he questioned curiously, his demeanor revealing a mix of confusion and defiance.

"Oh, your crime? Daring to be engaged to me after being betrothed to ten other girls. Ridiculous!" Aurianna retorted coldly, tilting her head with disdain.

"But polygamy is allowed in my country!" Dwane declared, evidently not comprehending Aurianna’s stance.

"It is, but you probably would have lied to me, claiming I’d be your one and only fiancée, right?" Aurianna inquired, looking down at him with a cold gaze.

’How did she know?’ Dwane wondered as he glared at her. ’It’s like she can read me like an open book!’

"If you kill me, my father will immediately know about this!" Dwane threatened, attempting to use his familial connection as leverage.

"Your daddy this, your daddy that, can’t you do anything without him? You’re sixteen, for heaven’s sake!" Aurianna snapped, her annoyance evident.

"Now, let’s get rid of this pesky tongue. We can’t have you ratting me out if you survive. Who am I kidding? You’ll still be able to write with your hand, so I’ll have to cut that off too," Aurianna stated with an ecstatic smile, sending shivers down Dwane’s spine.

’She really plans to kill me!’ Dwane panicked internally before making a desperate plea.

"I’m sorry, okay! I was just a bit arrogant. Why? Why are you doing this? What did I ever do to you that deserves death? We just met," Dwane pleaded, desperation evident in his voice.

"Oh, you would do something horrible to me in the future. That’s why I must get rid of you," Aurianna stated matter-of-factly, leaving Dwane bewildered.

"I would do something in the future what do you mean by that? I would never do anything to hurt a beautiful girl like yourself, so please have mercy. If you spare my life, I promise I won’t speak to anyone about this!" Dwane begged, attempting to appeal to her sense of mercy.

"Did you just forget about the part where you threatened to sell me off to some perverted old man? Huh?" Aurianna pointed out, leaving Dwane in his seat, regretting his previous words.
