Chapter 169: Chapter 155: Boy or Girl?

"Are you content in your current role?" Aurianna inquired, a mischievous grin adorning her face as she took a casual sip of her drink.

"I am, though the old man isn’t exactly thrilled. Not that I’m losing sleep over it," Zorian replied with a nonchalant shrug.

"Chi, chi, chi, Zorian, what a crafty boy you are," Aurianna chuckled, fixing him with an amused gaze.

"I’d say the same, princess," Zorian responded, a smile playing on his lips.

"Can you update me on the situation with the nobles?" Aurianna asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Anyone tangled in corruption faced a public beheading, and we replaced those nobles. Plus, winning the war brought us more land, expanding my territory," Zorian explained with a pleased tone.

"I’m happy for you, Zorian."

"Since when did Zorian and the princess become so close?" a young boy wondered, observing the duo.

"Should we interrupt?" A boy, standing beside him, proposed.

"Best not. They’re deep in conversation," another declared, shaking his head.

"Princess, you should give managing a territory a shot. It’s quite the experience!" Zorian recommended.

"Thanks for the offer, but I’ll pass. Hard work isn’t my cup of tea," Aurianna declined, shaking her head.

"Says the battle maniac," Zorian chuckled.

"What’s wrong with enjoying a good fight?" Aurianna shot back, a hint of irritation in her expression.

"Well, with a rowdy girl like you, finding a fiancé might be a challenge," Zorian remarked, placing his hand on his chin.

"I’m not interested in one," Aurianna stated, turning her head away, her expression darkening.

"Why, though? With your looks, you could make anyone fall in love with you," Zorian teased, chuckling.

"I’m not interested in love or marriage," Aurianna declared coldly before finishing her cup of fruit juice.

"Why, though?" Zorian inquired, raising an eyebrow.

"None of your business!" Aurianna huffed.

"How cold, princess. I thought we were friends?" Zorian said, his expression slightly hurt.

"Friends?" Aurianna asked, confused.

"Yes!" Zorian chirped.

Aurianna looked at him in disbelief but couldn’t help but crack a smile. Her fair face slightly red, she arrogantly declared, "If you want to be my friend so bad, I shall allow that!"

"Hahaha, princess, you’re amusing!" Zorian laughed.

"I don’t see myself as the comedic type," Aurianna frowned, arms crossed.

"Yeah, you don’t. But you’re interesting!" Zorian stated with a captivating smile, prompting Aurianna to squeeze her face in a frown, making Zorian laugh harder.

"How old are you, Zorian?" Aurianna suddenly asked.

"18," he replied.

"Shouldn’t you be seeking a fiancée at this age?" Aurianna quipped, grabbing a pastry from the table and stuffing it in her mouth in a flash.

"I’m not interested in one, princess. Girls in this Kingdom are so dull, except for you, of course!" Zorian stated coldly.

"Ugh!" Aurianna frowned again, giving him an ugly look.

"Why the disgust? I’m just kidding! I’m not ready for marriage or a woman in my life yet," Zorian nervously explained, rubbing his hand.

"I see."

"Also, princess, did you know we’re expecting some important visitors for your birthday?" Zorian asked.

"Why?" Aurianna asked, surprised.

"Remember how attention-grabbing you were in the war? Countries are sending their princes to propose, and even churches want you. Assassination attempts will also skyrocket," Zorian explained, but Aurianna seemed unfazed.

"Well, that’s a drag. I’ll just reject them all," she said nonchalantly.

"Or you could get engaged to ten of them?" Zorian suggested, a mischievous grin on his face.

"Eww!" Aurianna dramatically cringed at his suggestion.

"Your disgusted face is unusual but cute indeed," Zorian complimented.

"I have no interest in getting engaged at all. If I’m forced into one, I’ll just kill off the brat!" Aurianna declared with an evil smile.

"I figured as much. But it could be trouble if he’s a prince from a very powerful country, ranking in Highland and the Promised Land," Zorian warned.

"That does pose a bit of an issue, huh? But I’m definitely not into little boys," Aurianna chuckled.

"Huh? What does that mean?" Zorian asked, a stupefied expression on his face.

"I prefer older men!" Aurianna declared, her eyes sparkling. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"Huh?" Zorian blurted out, his expression dumbfounded.

’Well, mentally, I’m 25, so I’m not attracted to kids, even if I went back in time. I can’t imagine myself marrying a kid—eww!’ Aurianna thought.

"Princess, you can’t marry... an adult!" Zorian stuttered, visibly shaking.

"Who says I can’t? I’ll do whatever I want!" Aurianna declared, flipping her hair.

"Princess Aurianna, that’s not how it works," Zorian nervously said, attempting to persuade her.

"My marriage, my rules!" Aurianna huffed, showing no intention of changing her mind.

"What’s with the bewildered face?" Aurianna asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Won’t it be a crime?" Zorian blurted out, wiping the sweat off his face with a handkerchief.

"No, it won’t. If my fiancé is between the ages of 30 to 20, it’s good!" Aurianna declared, and Zorian felt his soul die a little.

"Princess, that’s ten to twenty years apart. Do you want people to go to jail?" Zorian asked, shaking nervously.

"They shouldn’t look old too," Aurianna added, ignoring his words.

"Hmm, then what if I were a candidate?" Zorian suggested, his expression brightening up.

Aurianna placed her hand on her chin and sized him up and down, inspecting him closely. ’Well, he’s a very handsome young man. No wonder he was a lady’s man in my past life. Pity he died then. But, slim stature? Ralph—slim stature, dumb fiancé—slim stature, Kent—slim stature," Aurianna thought, her expression becoming ugly.

"I’m not interested in slim guys! Or young guys!!" Aurianna declared fiercely, and Zorian froze on the spot.

’Eighteen is too young. Your Majesty, please, your daughter would take someone’s son to jail!’ Zorian cried inwardly.

’Hmm, 25-18 is seven years apart. Too young, and he’s not my type. Romance at this time is a waste of time,’ Aurianna thought.

"Ah, princess, it’s not good to judge others based on physique," Zorian cried.

"True. I still wouldn’t consider an engagement since I like my peaceful life!" Aurianna said.

"Well, that’s okay then. I can understand you on that one," Zorian said, gathering himself.

"And how can I make a decision when I haven’t seen men of all races? I heard Starlights and Floops have sexy men!" Aurianna exclaimed with bright eyes.

’How is a child so perverted at such a young age? Sometimes I forget she’s a kid with the way she speaks,’ Zorian thought inwardly, placing his hand on his chest, feeling a painful ache.

"This party is so boring. I want to do something fun!" Aurianna sighed.

"But this is your party," Zorian said.

"Does it look like I want to greet people?" Aurianna asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Nope," Zorian shook his head.

"Then that’s the answer. Let’s leave and play some board games. It would be better than talking to these people," Aurianna scoffed.

"Princess, why does it seem like no one can see us?" Zorian asked, just realizing that everyone was passing beside them without looking their way.

"I just bent the light around a little, making us invisible to them. Twenty guys came forward to me in an hour before you came. I can’t stand it. And talking with you is also fun," Aurianna grinned.

"I’m flattered," Zorian said with a polite bow.

"No need to be so formal with me. You can be casual," Aurianna said.

"Thanks!" Zorian beamed, his expression lightening up.

"So can we go?" Aurianna asked.

"Lead the way, then, princess!"

"Let’s go to the garden, but first..." Aurianna immediately started taking numerous foods from the table at a quick pace and placing them in her ring.

"Princess, why are you stuffing so much food in your ring?" Zorian asked, puzzled by her behavior.

"If I leave and order food to the garden, my father would call me back, and I don’t want to deal with him. I would be forced to greet little boys. Ugh," Aurianna frowned.

"Princess, you’re ten!! You are little," Zorian cried.

"Well, then I just have preferences!" Aurianna huffed.

"Also, do you like children?" Aurianna asked, eyeing him.

"What made you come to such a conclusion!!!" Zorian shrieked, his face turning pale.

"If not, why would you suggest yourself?" Aurianna asked suspiciously.

"It was a joke," Zorian weakly said.

"Alright then!"

______________

In the garden, Aurianna shot an irritated glare at Zorian. Before them sprawled a board with mini-figures, moving at the whim of Aurianna and Zorian. Aurianna’s pieces were white, while Zorian’s were blue. "Damn you," she seethed, slamming the table as she watched the mini doll cut through her pieces.

"I win again!" Zorian declared proudly.

"How do I keep losing at this castle game?!" Aurianna yelled in frustration.

’Eva, when we get back to the training ground, teach me board games. I refuse to lose anymore!’ Aurianna conveyed to Eva.

’Alright then,’ Eva agreed.

"Aurianna, no need to grind your teeth so much just because of a game," Zorian chuckled with a smug smile, and Aurianna scowled even more.

"You don’t understand my pain because you keep winning!! This is so unfair. Let’s play something else!" Aurianna cried.

"What do you suggest?" Zorian asked.

"What about a video game?" a young boy suggested as he sat between them on the other side of the round table.

’A video game. Where have I heard that? Oh yes, Eva!’ Aurianna thought, ’But I’ve heard it from someone else too, but I don’t seem to remember.’

"What do you mean, little girl?" Aurianna asked curiously. In front of her stood a girl in a luxurious blue suit, with lovely brown skin, short curly silver hair, and closed eyes and she was absolutely adorable.

’Why is Aurianna saying girl? That’s clearly a boy. But who’s this boy? I barely noticed his presence when he came here?’ Zorian thought nervously.

"Don’t you have the latest communication cube? Well, it’s not a cube anymore but a flat screen!" the boy declared, flexing his device that was as big as his hand and had a screen.

"So cool!" Aurianna exclaimed as she admired the device.

"Eh, princess, you don’t have one?" Zorian asked in surprise, pulling out his own to also show off.

"What, you have one too?!!" Aurianna yelled.

"Not to brag, but yes!" Zorian grinned, rubbing his nose.

"I refuse not to have one!" Aurianna yelled.
