Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 159 - 145: War against the Infinite Nation 7
"Ah yes the Sandeph army people are still alive. They’ll do," Eva muttered as she looked at the people coldly.
"Ruigo turn them into a mana ball. In Aurianna’s state she can’t eat their souls easily. And I’m not sure she is willing to eat humans, even though she eats monsters," Eva blurted out with her hand on her chin.
"As you wish Jewel," Ruigo said as she pointed her staff at the army, confusing everyone.
"Why is she pointing her staff at us?" Melissa asked with a nervous expression.
"She’s going to kill us, everyone run!!" Antya warned, her eyes glowing as she pointed her staff at Ruigo, but it was too late. It was like an invisible giant hand had grabbed her body, restricting her movements and it squashed her into paste, transforming her into a rainbow-colored ball.
"Duke Antya is dead!!" a knight yelled, sending the army into chaos.
"Duke Antya!!" Duke Oswald yelled as he rushed forwards but was stopped by a barrier. He immediately began to punch at the barrier frantically before he picked up his swords and slashed at it but the barrier remained unaffected.
"What the hell is going on? Wasn’t it on our side? Why is it suddenly killing us?" Melissa wondered frantically.
"I have to protect my knights first!" Melissa said to herself before dashing towards the hooded golem. However, before she could attack Ruigo moved her mouth and Melissa’s body froze midair.
"Why can’t I move?!!" Melissa panicked inwardly, but before she could contemplate more her body exploded into pieces.
"Stop that thing at once!!" King Girsal yelled angrily and three men from the shadows tried to enter the battlefield attacking the barrier with all their strength. But the barrier that was there still remained the same.
"What the hell is going on? Isn’t the caster dead?" One of the men asked as he was clearly confused. His fist pounded on the barrier creating shock waves but the barrier didn’t flinch. But seemed to feel stronger with every punch he gave. "Unless..." he blurted out as he looked up at the sky.
"Stop it! The more you punch the stronger it gets!" One of the men warned his colleague, as he noticed the flow of magic through the barrier.
King Girsal walked up to the barrier and attempted using an electric current to pass through the barrier but the barrier didn’t budge.
King Girsal looked left, up and right and gritted his teeth as he had an angry expression on his face. He watched more and more of the knights being smashed into meat paste and turned into small mana balls.
"What is that child doing?" Lauren asked angrily, she looked up in the golem’s hand. "She has fainted!" She gasped in a painicked tone.
"Dammit! If she isn’t awake, those golems won’t stop killing our knights," Emirie said calmly but she looked uneasy.
"Bring the teleport scrolls!" Cecilia ordered but the knights beside her looked nervous.
"Grand Duke Cecilia, the teleport scrolls aren’t working," the knight said.
"Try flying over!" Cecilia suggested.
"No use trying, we are trapped in a box. The Highland is fine but the army here is trapped," King Girsal seethed as he looked at the golem with an angry expression and noticed a mocking smile on its face.
"What the hell is going on? And who casted the damn barrier!!" Amber questioned angrily.
Ruigo smiled at her work as the people struggled.
"Save us!" A knight screamed in pain as he banged on the barrier. His face full of terror but he soon exploded, blood staining the barrier before his flesh and flood turned into a small rainbow coloured ball. And everyone watching was horrified by what they were seeing. In the sky was a large ball of flesh and blood, the knights were quickly mashed and their entire body was turned into one large rainbow coloured ball.
Luta approached the ball and placed his hands on each side and the more he squeezed the smaller the ball got. After a few minutes the ball was as small as a human girl’s palm. He handed it to Ruigo and Ruigo made it float towards Eva.
"Aurianna, here," Eva said as she raised Aurianna’s head up and placed the rainbow coloured ball in her mouth.
Aurianna swallowed the ball and after a few minutes she opened her eyes.
"Ammm," she grunted and she slowly got up.
"So delicious!" Aurianna made an ecstatic face and she held her cheeks. Her face flushed red as she licked her lips.
"Ahh delicious, so delicious. Where can I get more of that candy! It’s so sweet!" Aurianna beamed as she looked at Eva and Ruigo expectantly, but they didn’t answer, "My body feels all better chi, chi, chi," Aurianna grinned and she did some stretches for her aching body.
"Hmm, did we win the war?" Aurianna wondered as she surveyed the battlefield to only see the dead bodies of the Infinite Nation’s knights around.
"Yes you did," Eva confirmed with a smile.
"I’m so amazing, chi, chi, chi," Aurianna praised herself, striking a pose with her nose up high.
"So where’s the rest of the damn army. No dead bodies?" Aurianna wondered as she looked around with a confused face. ’Where am I supposed to get my soul supplements from. Did I revive them, but if I did, where are they?’ she thought as she looked around but she found nothing. She looked at the horrified faces coming from both sides of the armies who stared at her, which caused her to understand what happened to them.
Meanwhile, inside a bar in the Sandeph HighLand. Many people were gathered there, filling the place to the brim. A lot of people ordered food as they watched the screen without taking their eyes off it. Once Esmeralda was defeated the people cheered and the country erupted into cheers.
"We won the first part of the war!" Cheered a man.
"Benny you better pay up! You lost the bet. Didn’t I say Sandeph would win?" A woman chuckled as she opened her hands to her companion who reluctantly gave her money and she squealed happily.
"The princess is amazing!" Praised one woman.
"Yes she is___ hic___Even though she’s brutish she’s still so cute and even knows how to fight!! I don’t ___ hic____think this war could have been won if not for her!" a slightly tipsy guy raved, lifting his beer.
"She even sacrificed herself for the knights!" Exclaimed another with teary eyes.
"Maybe we misjudged the princess."
Praises were heard in the bar for Aurianna but suddenly a shrill scream coming from the screen before them interrupted the various conversations going on. Everyone watched in horror as the knights were slaughtered and screaming for their lives. The bar was so quiet that all that could be heard were screams. They watched with horrified expressions as the condensed rainbow coloured ball made of human flesh entered Aurianna’s mouth. Suddenly, Aurianna sprang up praising how delicious the ball tasted.
"Did the... princess j..just eat... them all?" a woman stammered, collapsing to the floor, her body trembling as she stared at the screen in horror.
"I find it hard to believe what we just watched. This must be fake right?" A man doubted as he sweated profusely.
"I said it, I always said it! That girl is a demon in human clothing. What part about her is human? Are you all out of your mind to cheer for her?!" A woman yelled, her face twisted in pain.
"She looks like a human," Another man said quietly. "I mean what part doesn’t look human?" The man asked himself.
"And it can’t be her fault. Look, she’s searching for the knights. It’s her summon’s fault!" a nervous woman claimed, pointing at the golems on the screen. "She’s clueless, right?"
"But golems listen to their masters, or was I mistaken," an old man blurted out.
"How could she have given orders when she had fainted?" Another man defended.
Chaos erupted in the bar. People cursed Aurianna, others cried for their family members among those knights, while others tried to defend her.
"How can anyone still defend that crazy child!" a teenage girl gritted her teeth, glaring at Aurianna on the screen.
"That girl’s heartless. She doesn’t feel remorseful one bit. I know that she knows what she did!" the girl yelled, noticing Aurianna’s cold stare. ’Those eyes!’ she thought, the same ones Aurianna had when she killed her father.
"What kind of human heals? Can you explain that? She’s clearly a demon!" The quarrel between the three opposing groups in the bar continued.
"A Saintess!" a man blurted out calmly.
"I’ve seen the Saintess of War and the Saintess of Light fight like that. You can check it out online," the man said casually, sipping his beer. "Their bodies heal abnormally. And they revive whenever they die. They can heal others and revive others. And if my eyes aren’t betraying me, the princess did all of this."
"No way, you’re saying...?"
"She might be a Saintess," the man stated.
"I can’t wrap my head around that. A Saintess is supposed to be a pure-hearted and kind person, not this ruthless monster. Remember, she’s just nine years old! And she’s already killing Arc Humans!" a woman at the table protested, glaring at the man.
"That is weird. Maybe she’s not really nine," the man shrugged.
"She is nine. Why would the King lie about her age?" someone asked.
"She’s genuinely nine. I was there when they announced her birth," an older woman chimed in.
"Even if she’s as brutal as you all claim, you can’t deny she’s a prodigy. And she’s set to be the crown princess at twelve," another woman stated, and everyone collectively held their breath, the atmosphere immediately got dark.
"Well, at least our country won’t have to worry about losing in a war," a man nonchalantly remarked.
"Are you nuts? Have you seen what she does to regular people? Imagine her ruling the country? King Girsal wouldn’t let someone like her be the crown princess!" the teenager from earlier shot back.
"Keep living in delusion, kid," the man retorted.
_____
"Aurianna, I’ll make you pay!!" Queen Shiba yelled angrily, the ground trembling beneath her.
Aurianna grinned, "Queen Shiba, before the next battle starts, maybe you should tidy up the corpses of your knights and place them in a space ring, so they can have a burial. I might be a brat, but I believe it’s courtesy to respect the dead."
"That’s rich, coming from you," Shiba chuckled.
"I have no idea what you mean," Aurianna said innocently, locking eyes with Queen Shiba, who glared at her.
With a wave of her hand, the dead bodies vanished, and Queen Shiba clutched her ring tightly.
Aurianna strolled away, but just before the barrier lifted, she heard a voice.
[Wait!!] the angel of war yelled as she looked at Aurianna.
"Yes, lady angel," Aurianna responded politely.
[The goddess of war has a deal for you.] She said with a devilish smile.
"What deal?" Aurianna asked, raising an eyebrow.
[Fight in the second round.] She said with a smile.
"And why the hell would I do that?" Aurianna asked, annoyance evident.
"Why would you speak to an angel like that?!!" Queen Amber yelled, gripping her hair.
[The goddess said she would offer you more than 2,000 magic coins if you do so.] The angel said.
"Peh," Aurianna scoffed, scratching her ear.
[5,000?] The angel of war offered calmly.
"I’m not interested," Aurianna shook her head, her expression growing more displeased.
[10,000!] The angel of war changed her offer, becoming visibly nervous.
"Why would I risk my life again for 10,000 magic coins? Nah, I’m good," Aurianna shook her head.
[50,000! She said 50,000!] The angel of war made one last offer, and Aurianna beamed. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"My, my, the Goddess of War sure is generous. This mortal would happily accept the money!" Aurianna said with a joyful smile as she rubbed her hands sheepishly.
[Only if you fight in the second part of the war.]
"I don’t mind," Aurianna shrugged.
[Alone.] The angel emphasized.
"Why alone?!" Aurianna yelled. "Can’t you see all those Arc Humans there? I almost died in the first round. What more of the second? There are four Arc Humans there, and you want me to fight them? Alone!! No, no, I would only fight with an army," she shook her head.
[Are you sure they would like to join you?] the Angel smirked, and Aurianna looked at the army behind who all had nervous expressions.
’Well, those gazes are reasonable due to Ruigo killing all those knights,’ she thought.
"I could really die, you know?" Aurianna stated as she looked up at the angel.
[Then just try not to die.] The angel said nonchalantly.
"This is so unfair!!" Aurianna cried.
[You already agreed.]
"Not to those conditions!" Aurianna yelled.
’But if I manage to get closer to Queen Shiba, then I can convince her,’ Aurianna pondered as she eyed Queen Shiba.
"Aurianna," Ruigo called out to her, and Aurianna turned to face her.
"Yes, Ruigo?" Aurianna said, but suddenly Ruigo flicked her finger at Aurianna’s face, destroying her head.
Aurianna’s head regenerated back, but she glared at Ruigo, "Why did you hit me?"
"I’ll hit you again if you don’t reject that offer," Ruigo said with a calm but cold tone.
"But the money...." Aurianna pouted.
"The money and your life, which one is important?" Ruigo asked.
"Money!" Aurianna answered with shining eyes.
"Say that again," Ruigo said coldly, and Aurianna felt herself shrink.
"I mean my life," she pouted again.
"Good, now reject the offer."
"I’m sorry, Angel of War, but I have to reject that; my life is more important than money," Aurianna reluctantly said as she felt an ache in her heart and could see magic coins fly away.
[Ohh. But you can’t reject a goddess.] The angel of war said with a cold smile.
"Then let’s change it!" Aurianna declared.
"I would fight in the third round against Queen Shiba!"
"If I can survive thirty attacks from her. You give me the money!" Aurianna declared.
[Pfft, hahahahaha.] The Angel of War laughed as she looked at Aurianna.
[The goddess agrees.] She said as she tried to stop herself from laughing.
