Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 140 - 126: Aurianna’s Level
King Girsal reclined in his plush chair, a wistful grin playing on his lips as he ran his fingers through his hair, sweeping it backward. His gaze drifted beyond the sleek glass window, offering a breathtaking view of the city sprawled below.
"Hah," he mused, his tone casual but reflective, "back in the day, I was quite the cringe-worthy kid, a real embittered one too. But I can’t really blame my younger self, life was very depressing at that point in my life."
His fingers absentmindedly brushed against his beard as he continued, a sly grin dancing on his lips, "But at least I’m yet to fulfill my true goal, and next is for me to become fully perfect human and immortal."
As he stroked his beard thoughtfully, he couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. "And speaking of plans, it’s high time I reinforce the control seal on Aurianna. Every time she looks at me or her mother, it’s not just rebelliousness in those eyes; it’s pure, unadulterated hatred."
He paused, his brow furrowing as he recalled the icy glares she often shot his way. "I wonder what I did to earn that level of animosity."
A cold expression settled on his face as he spoke aloud, "Well, I need to fix things up, I can’t afford to have a valuable asset like her turn against me."
Rising from his chair, he headed over to his table and picked up a vial. His voice carried a hint of amusement as he added, "She might just hate me more when I send her onto the battlefield."
With a confident gulp, he downed the vial, and suddenly, his arms began to tremble. Mechanical components emerged from his arms before seamlessly regenerating. He flexed his hands, marveling at the change.
Taking a seat again, King Girsal let out a weary sigh. "Being a king and a father is very taxing."
His gaze shifted to the screens displaying knights in the underground city, engrossed in their training. "And speaking of wars, I should test the abilities of those enhanced humans in the upcoming war."
His thoughts took a darker turn as he muttered to himself, "I can’t forget about finding Chatel’s killer either. Those bastards are dead. They think they can provoke me like this and get away with it? I’ll make them regret daring to enter my territory."
Leaning back in his chair, he delved into deep contemplation. "The fact that they managed to bypass all my security measures suggests they’re not an ordinary person. Could be an Arc Human with exceptional stealth skills, because no Grand Human would be foolish enough to venture here and pull such a stunt, especially knowing this place falls under Paige’s Church jurisdiction. So it’s probably an ignorant Arc Human."
"They surely did a big blow against me. Now I have no way to strengthen the new batch of soldiers. How troublesome," King Girsal mumbled visible angry veins popped on his face and his cold smile turnwd into a frown.

Aurianna lounged in an opulent living room, surrounded by a dozen vigilant guards. She sat on a plush couch, empty plates bearing witness to her hearty appetite, while others still held a variety of meat dishes she had devoured happily.
"That woman, I can’t stand her," Aurianna muttered under her breath, sipping on her drink. I’m just hoping she won’t be here on the day of the war with the Infinite Nation. If not all of our plans would fail!"
Eva materialized beside her, echoing her concerns. "You’re right," she agreed, her voice calm. "A Grand Human like her wouldn’t just let all those slaves escape."
Aurianna’s fingers idly tapped on the edge of her empty plate as she contemplated further. "And even if she doesn’t appear, I’m sure she or her subordinates will come searching for them. Vatium better have an excellent hiding spot." Aurianna sighed, pushing her empty plate aside.
Aurianna turned her gaze to Eva, a quizzical eyebrow raised. "And Eva, how do you explain how that woman managed to detect my level?"
Eva scratched her head, looking perplexed. "I honestly don’t know. I concealed your level to the best of my abilities," she admitted, her brow furrowed with worry.
As Aurianna continued speculating, Eva was lost in thought. ’Could this be the consequences of the seal? But no matter how hard I try, I can’t remove it. It’s beyond my current capabilities. Plus, I need my wings and clock back.’
Aurianna, not getting a response from Eva, continued with her own line of thought. "She probably has some special eye or something," she concluded, but Eva remained preoccupied with her inner musings.
Eva’s mind was in turmoil. ’Could my powers be weaker than I thought? Being trapped in a cage for thousands of years must have drained me more than I realized. I need to find a way to quickly remove these seals,’ she resolved.
"Eva, are you even listening?" Aurianna’s impatient voice broke through, snapping Eva back to reality.
"Yeah, sorry, lost in thought," Eva replied, meeting Aurianna’s concerned gaze.
Aurianna changed the subject, her discontent evident. "That woman kept calling me a genius, and I honestly wish I were," she said, wiping away imaginary tears, which brought a small chuckle from Eva.
"Well, you’ve got me to thank for your progress," Eva declared with a hint of pride.
Aurianna couldn’t help but grumble. "Dying all the time during training wasn’t exactly a fun thing to do, though. It was torture!"
A perplexed knight nearby leaned over to his comrade and whispered, "Who is she talking to?"
One knight scratched his head in bewilderment. "She’s talking, but I can barely hear her. I just see her lips moving," he admitted with a shrug.
"Maybe she’s got an imaginary friend or a spirit," another knight ventured.
The knight next to him disagreed with a shake of his head. "Nah, there’s no spirit aura around. It’s probably not that."
"Considering she’s always on her own, perhaps she made up an imaginary friend," another knight chimed in.
They all exchanged sympathetic glances, feeling a twinge of pity for Aurianna. "Poor princess," they collectively thought, their hearts going out to her.
Eva leaned in with a warm smile, ruffling Aurianna’s hair affectionately. "Well, at least your talent has risen up from D class to C class," she remarked.
Aurianna looked up at Eva, considering the achievement. "Should I be proud of that?"
Eva nodded with a grin. "Actually, it’s quite the feat, especially considering your race."
"Then I guess it’s an achievement!" Aurianna declared proudly.
Eva couldn’t help but think to herself, ’She’s so easily pleased.’
Aurianna’s expression shifted to a more sinister one as she clutched her hands with determination. "But I’ve really grown. If I keep this up, I’ll be able to take down the hero all by myself!" Her eyes gleamed with a wicked grin.

Eva arched an eyebrow and folded her arms. "You do realize that as you get stronger, leveling up will get tougher, right?" she pointed out.
Aurianna shot back with a raised eyebrow of her own, "Why are you being such a killjoy?"
Eva simply shrugged. "Just stating the facts, dear."
Aurianna let out an audible grumble. "How long does it take for Shialor to fetch a change of clothes? I’ve been waiting here for a long time."
"Princess, I’m here!" Shialor’s voice rang out as she entered the room, clutching a plain, bright yellow dress. Aurianna’s expression soured. "Why is this dress so plain? What happened to all the fancy flowers and jewelry?" she exclaimed, marching over to Shialor and jabbing a finger at the offending garment.
Shialor rushed to explain, her voice frantic, "It was the only dress I could find nearby on such short notice!"
"I should’ve kept spare clothes in my space ring," Aurianna grumbled with an exasperated sigh. She turned and headed for the door, Shialor trailing behind.
"You can’t just stroll around in broad daylight like this, Princess!" Shialor cautioned.
Aurianna turned back, puzzled. "What’s the issue?"
Shialor blushed, gesturing at Aurianna’s outfit. "Your thighs are on display!"
Aurianna shrugged nonchalantly. "I don’t see it as a problem. Not much of them are showing anyway."
"Princess, you’re a lady!" Shialor protested.
Aurianna remained firm. "I’m still going back to my mansion."
"Please, Princess, just listen for once!" Shialor implored desperately.
Suddenly, Aurianna felt her head spin, her vision blurring as her surroundings danced before her eyes. Her heart seemed to skip a beat, and she crumpled to the floor in pain, clutching her chest.
Shialor rushed to her side, concern etched on her face. "Princess, what’s happening?"
A system notification echoed in Aurianna’s thoughts: [The Soul has been fully digested.]
Aurianna’s thoughts raced as she heard the system’s notification. "Soul? The pink soul I ate?" she wondered, her body wracked with unbearable pain.
"Why does it hurt so much?" Aurianna thought, feeling as though she was being torn apart from the inside.
"Is the princess all right?" a duty-bound knight inquired, noticing the panicked commotion.
Shialor snapped back, her voice frantic, "Does she look all right to you?"
"Arghhhhhh!!!!" Aurianna screamed in agony, black streaks forming across her body like veins, pressing against her skin.
"We need to get her to a doctor immediately and inform her mother!" Shialor ordered, hoisting Aurianna into her arms as the knights rushed to assist.
______
Aurianna’s thoughts swirled in confusion as she found herself lying on what appeared to be a bed. Her surroundings remained hazy and indistinct, making it impossible to get a clear sense of where she was.
"Please, Princess, be okay," Shialor’s worried murmur reached Aurianna’s ears as she sat beside her. Others had gathered around, their faces a blur in Aurianna’s disoriented state. But before she could even begin to piece together who they were, her eyelids drooped, and darkness enveloped her once more.
The next moment, Aurianna found herself in an unfamiliar, shadowy void. She cast her gaze about, but there was nothing to see in the darkness.
Suddenly, the void burst into brilliant white light, revealing a room where the same half-white statue from her previous rebirth stood. She regarded the statue with a puzzled expression.
"Why am I back here?" Aurianna voiced her uncertainty, lifting her eyes to meet the statue’s gaze.
She made a decision, muttering to herself, "Well, I’d rather not get pummeled again. Let’s see what happens if I approach it." Aurianna took a tentative step forward, and to her surprise, the half statue knelt and extended its hand toward her.
Aurianna cautiously reached out, her hand making contact with the statue’s massive finger. In response, the statue seemed to wear a contented smile.
With a blink, Aurianna found herself in an entirely new setting—a vast blue lamd with a massive white sphere hovering in the midst of it. This white sphere was bound by numerous menacing black chains.
Frowning, Aurianna’s attention was then drawn to another colossal white sphere. This one had streaks of red and black etched across its surface and bore enormous teeth, which it sank into the smaller, chained sphere. As the larger sphere’s teeth gnashed into the smaller one, Aurianna felt her heart wrench in pain, causing her to collapse to the ground, crying out in agony.
When the torment finally ceased, Aurianna struggled to her feet, her gaze locked on the monstrous white sphere and glared at it. An image of the woman who had attacked her during the Drumel Kingdom war flashed in her mind. Aurianna couldn’t help but bite her nails in frustration as she finally realised what was going on.
"That woman is devouring me," she uttered coldly, her voice tinged with grim understanding. "And if I’m right, this is my soul!"
