Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 136: Chap 122: Eating a Saintess
"It’s just the last room now!" Aurianna let out a relieved sigh as she gazed up at the towering purple door, flanked by 50 knights on guard duty. "Honestly, I thought dealing with the inmates in the fire prison would be a real challenge, but it turns out they were so desperate to get out that convincing them was easier than I thought," she muttered to herself, nodding with a satisfied smirk.
"We’ve been pretty lucky, haven’t we? This whole operation has gone surprisingly smoothly. Seems like everyone’s just itching to get out, and have their freedom," Ostusi remarked.
Aurianna looked at him for a moment before returning her focus to the massive door. Noticing where her gaze was fixed, Ostusi couldn’t help but blurt out, "They did mention the Saintess is in there. Do we really need to go inside?"
"Absolutely! I’m eager to meet the Saintess Chatel. There’s something I need from her," Aurianna declared with a twinkle in her eye.
"Alright," Ostusi conceded, reluctantly agreeing to follow her lead. He snapped his fingers, and in an instant, they found themselves on the other side of the door.
Inside the room, Aurianna surveyed her surroundings. It was larger than she had anticipated but not as vast as the previous hall. Magic circles adorned every corner, casting an eerie glow that filled the chamber. Natural light couldn’t penetrate the space, leaving only the cold, floating lights on the walls to provide illumination, and they cast unsettling shadows.
After a brief walk, Aurianna’s eyes locked onto a captivating sight. A striking woman with rich brown skin and striking purple eyes, each adorned with a pink cross within the pupil, was at the center of the room, confined on a raised stone dais. The dais emitted a faint, eerie pink glow, creating a stark contrast with the surrounding darkness. Intricate magical chains connected the Saintess to the dais and the walls, tightly binding her wrists and ankles. These weren’t ordinary chains; they were inscribed with powerful spells made to nullify her abilities.
"Eva, use your magic to conceal us and the Saintess," Aurianna instructed as she approached the imprisoned figure.
Eva raised an eyebrow and questioned, "What exactly are you planning to do?"
"Oh, nothing too crazy," Aurianna replied with an unsettling smile. "I’m just curious to see what happens if I were to, you know, eat a Saintess."
Eva crossed her arms, her skepticism evident. "And how do you intend to do that?"
"How else does one eat something? We chew it, of course!" Aurianna smirked wickedly, revealing a row of menacingly sharp teeth. Meanwhile, Ostusi observed her and couldn’t help but wonder, ’Is she having some sort of mental breakdown? Why else would she act so bizarre and talk to herself incessantly, even when no one else is around?’
"Who’s there?" Chatel asked anxiously, her gaze darting around the dimly lit cell.
"Hello, dear Saintess Chatel," Aurianna greeted calmly, her hands casually tucked behind her back.
"How did you get here? Are you here to rescue me? Wait, why is a demon here? Is he your servant? I bet he is. If you managed to reach here, it means you’re incredibly powerful! Finally, someone’s come to save me. I’m going to make that bastard Girsal regret everything he’s done!" Chatel growled with determination, clenching her teeth.
"Shut the hell up!" Aurianna snapped coldly, her dull blue eyes locked on Chatel.
"You talk way too much, making random assumptions like you’re some sort of know-it-all. You look so foolish it’s almost laughable," Aurianna added, her tone tinged with cockiness.
"What?" Chatel gasped in disbelief. "Hahaha, if you didn’t come here to rescue me, why are you here? Unless you want me dead?" she asked, fear creeping into her expression.
Sensing danger, Chatel began to panic. Realizing that Aurianna was dead serious, she cried out frantically, "Somebody help! Help!"
"No one is going to hear you, so you might as well stop with the unnecessary wailing," Aurianna stated coldly.
"Aurianna, are we really going to kill her?" Ostusi asked with a hint of doubt in his voice.
"Of course. So, please do the honors for me," Aurianna requested, her smile oddly innocent.
"This is bound to provoke someone’s anger..." Ostusi began, eyeing her skeptically.
"That’s precisely the point!"
"Fine," Ostusi reluctantly agreed.
Seeing their discussion come to a close, nervous sweat dripped down Chatel’s face. "Hey, let’s talk things out. I’m a Saintess, you know? I’m extremely useful," she pleaded. "I can bring the dead back to life, heal the wounded. So please, spare me. I’m incredibly valuable. Why on earth would you want to kill someone like me?" she implored.
’I may have wanted to die at first, but there’s a chance to get back at that bastard Girsal! There’s no way I’ll let it slip bye like this and just die,’ Chatel thought as she slightly glared at Aurianna.
"Because I want your abilities," Aurianna declared coldly as she approached Chatel and firmly gripped her face.
"All my skills might reach new heights if I were to devour a Saintess like you. I’ve consumed monsters before, but not humans. This could be a new experience," Aurianna mused with a grin.
"Ack," Chatel gasped as she felt a sword pierce through her chest, gritting her teeth in pain. ’Shit, shit, shit! I can’t die now!’
"Do you really think it’ll be that easy to kill me? I’m a Saintess, with healing abilities! I won’t go down from just a blade cut!" Chatel declared, her smile bordering on madness.
"Then I’ll just remove your head," Ostusi stated, and in an instant, he held Chatel’s severed head in his hands, passing it to Aurianna. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
’What happened? Why is my body all the way there?’ Chatel wondered as she watched blood spew from her neck and her body slumped unto the ground. ’Life is such a bitch.’
"Are you seriously planning to eat her?" He asked, his skepticism evident.
"Absolutely!" Aurianna chirped, her hands morphing into a slimy form reminiscent of Zagan’s. She dropped Chatel’s head into it, watching as it sank and disappeared.
"When an Arc Human is alive, their body is tough to damage, but once they’re dead, most of those protective skills fade away," Aurianna explained as the slimy form devoured Chatel’s entire body, leaving only a solitary finger of Chatel’s.
"Thought I’d leave a little token for King Girsal when he shows up," she remarked with a smile as she strolled around.
"Wait, are you a... cannibal?" Ostusi asked, his curiosity tinged with a touch of disgust upon discovering this unexpected side of Aurianna.
"This is my first time eating a human. I’ve mostly consumed monsters," Aurianna confessed.
"Are you even human yourself? Because in that form, you looked like a slime," Ostusi said, still trying to make sense of it all.
"It’s the result of my blood getting mixed up in some experiment by some crazy Thinker Class," Aurianna revealed as she made her hand briefly take on a gooey form before returning to normal.
’I feel no pain in my body at all. Maybe it’s because of those high-level monster hearts Carol fed me,’ Aurianna mused, touching her chest thoughtfully.
"Hmm, what’s that pink floating ball?" Aurianna asked, her gaze fixating on a spherical, pink thing with a small, seemingly slumbering face.
"What pink floating ball?" Ostusi asked, once again bewildered.
"Over there, can’t you see it?" Aurianna pointed towards the pink ball, but it appeared that Ostusi couldn’t see it.
"I’m confused here; I really can’t see anything," Ostusi admitted with a perplexed frown.
"Forget it then," Aurianna sighed, rolling her eyes. She approached the pink, glowing ball and tried to grasp it. After successfully holding it, a sweet scent wafted into her nose, prompting her to place the pink ball in her mouth and swallow it.
[ You’ve devoured a soul ]
"So, that’s a soul, huh? It was surprisingly delicious," Aurianna mumbled, her face reflecting pure ecstasy.
"All done! Let’s get out of here!" Aurianna beamed as she started to walk away.
’Master Vatium, your sister is a real oddball. She’s a cannibal, totally crazy, and chats with herself. Plus, that creepy satisfied look on her face makes her more scary. Demons might just be next on her menu,’ Ostusi cried silently as he trailed behind her.
______
"We’re finally done!" Aurianna let out a sigh of relief as she and Ostusi reappeared in her room. She stretched her muscles and promptly flopped onto her bed, letting the plush futon work its magic on her tired body.
’Eva’s teleportation sure comes in handy,’ she thought, a faint smile gracing her lips as she hugged her pillow.
"Aurianna, can you spare some more Suckers for the cells in Sandeph’s slave markets?" Ostusi asked.
Hearing his request, Aurianna shot him a dumbfounded look and furrowed her brow ever so slightly.
’Great, just what I needed – more expenses. I already spent a pretty penny on those things, and now he wants more? My quest point savings can’t handle all these requests!’ she grumbled inwardly before sitting up on her bed.
Suddenly a brilliant idea popped into her head. "Just gather the ones from the underground city once they’ve teleported the slaves out if there," she suggested, waving her hand dismissively.
"And how exactly am I supposed to gather them all quickly?" Ostusi inquired.
"Take this one," Aurianna instructed as a larger Sucker materialized in her hand. She tossed it over to Ostusi. "This one should let you command all the Suckers."
’At least that’s what Eva said. I wonder where she’s vanished to this time,’ Aurianna pondered before turning her attention back to Ostusi, who was now wearing a satisfied smile.
’All this while, I’ve felt utterly useless,’ Ostusi thought, clenching his fists. ’I’ve just been taking orders from a little girl. Where’s my pride as a 300-year-old demon? I need to do more to help out,’
"I’ll be on my way, then. Thanks for the help," Ostusi waved at her before vanishing.
"No problem," Aurianna replied with a nonchalant grin. "Now, I can finally get some shut-eye," she mumbled as she cocooned herself in her blanket.
"I should probably block that door to no one disturbs my beauty sleep. And, also make it clear to the guards that they better not bother me. I seriously need some rest," Aurianna muttered to herself as she got up from her bed.
____________
Two days later...
"Princess," a woman’s voice gently stirred Aurianna from her slumber.
"Yeah?" Aurianna grumbled, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She squinted at the figure of a woman dressed in a black ninja outfit standing by her window, her brown eyes fixed on Aurianna.
"Your father has requested your presence. He refrained from disturbing you for the past two days as per your request for rest. But now, he wishes to see you," the woman informed Aurianna as she entered the room.
"Oh, I see. But what does he want?" Aurianna inquired with curiosity.
"All will be revealed when you arrive at the throne room. May I unlock your door so your maids can assist you?" the woman asked gently.
"Sure, go ahead," Aurianna agreed, sitting up and stretching.
Within moments, a bustling group of maids streamed into Aurianna’s room, each with a specific task. Some gathered clothes, while others brought hairbrushes, creams, and makeup kits.
"Princess, I missed you so much!" Yui exclaimed, rushing toward Aurianna with teary eyes, but Aurianna deftly dodged her hug.
"It’s only been two days," Aurianna rolled her eyes.
"Those two days felt like an eternity, Princess!" Yui cried, feigning a sob while wiping away imaginary tears.
"Don’t sugarcoat it, you were probably thrilled," Aurianna retorted, observing Yui who couldn’t meet her gaze.
’She caught on,’ Yui thought, ’But it was a nice break from her for a little while, though...’
"I still felt the ache of being separated from my beautiful princess. I couldn’t assist you with your outfits, or help you try on cute dresses," Yui dramatically lamented, causing Aurianna to roll her eyes again.
"Please, enough of the theatrics. Princess, would you like to have a bath?" one of the maids approached Aurianna and asked.
"Afterward, we’ll make sure you look absolutely elegant today!" Yui chirped enthusiastically, and the other maids nodded in agreement, their eyes shining with passion.
"Why do they look so fired up?" Aurianna mumbled to herself, feeling a little uneasy as she glanced at her group of overenthusiastic maids
