Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 110 - 96: King Girsal’s Secret 2
"I need her blood," King Girsal declared, his voice filled with a sense of urgency, as he reached for an empty vial and placed it back down on his desk. With determined steps, he exited his lavishly adorned office, unaware of Eva quietly tailing him.
"Hmm let me follow him," Eva whispered to herself, seizing the opportunity to uncover more of Girsal’s secrets, her begun gliding effortlessly behind Girsal as he ventured out of the office. The dark and eerie corridors seemed to stretch endlessly before them.
Eva, trailed him through the labyrinthine corridors. The further they ventured, the darker and more foreboding the surroundings became. But suddenly the surrounding were lit up by floating ball of light which lit up the once dark corridors.
Eva’s eyes widened in astonishment. The halls revealed a multitude of screens by visual meimus, each displaying scenes unfolding in various rooms scattered throughout the underground labyrinth. Eva’s attention was immediately captivated by the scenes playing out before her and she watched all of the thousands of screens simultaneously.
"To think all of this is down here," she muttered to herself.
In one room, male and female soldiers underwent relentless training, training their skills for battle and assassination. Their bodies drenched in sweat, they pushed their limits. The determination in their eyes was palpable, as they strived to become the perfect instruments of battle.
Another room, reminiscent of a colossal arena, served as a stage for deadly battles. Male and female soldiers fought each other, locked in mortal combat. The echoes of clashing steel and the cries of pain reverberated through the chamber. The fallen warriors, those who succumbed to their wounds, were silently revived in a separate room, ready to be thrust back into the fray.
Eva’s mind raced, and she deduced the purpose behind these gruesome spectacles, her expression remaining stoic, "I guess this is one of Girsal’s ultimate goal. To create an unstoppable army." She said to herself as she followed King Girsal and her eyes darted to more screens. Each revealing a new layer of depravity.
In some of the rooms, the air heavy with the scent of iron and disinfectant and was being perpetually cleansed to erase the evidence of the grotesque works. Mechanical figures draped in white cloaks conducted their merciless experiments.
These white-cloaked figures moved up and down. The echoes of torment lingered, but they didn’t care.
These mechanical entities were conducting horrifying experiments on the soldiers. Eva observed a bit intrigued by what they did. She watched heartlessly, as these soulless beings dissected soldiers and violated the sanctity of other race slaves. They surgically extracted internal organs from the helpless slaves, their cries of agony piercing the air, and transplanted them into the bodies of the soldiers.
"Trying to enhance their bodies with the used of internal organs of other races you’re quite smart indeed Girsal, but disgusting as well," Eva said with a sly smirk as she continued to watched coldly.
The slaves of various races became unwilling donors, their internal body parts continually harvested and transplanted into the soldiers with cold precision.
In one chamber, a great cage loomed. Within its confines, were slaves. Tears mingled with blood as they clung to their tattered hopes, pleading for mercy that would never come.
Yet, the mechanical drones that carried out their dark bidding remained unmoved by the anguish before them. They showed no trace of empathy or compassion, their cold metallic hands snatching slaves one by one, discarding them like discarded husks once their purpose had been served.
Eva’s countenance remained unmoved by the scene before her. She observed it all with detachment, the suffering and terror merely pieces of knowledge she sought to unravel.
Amidst the torturous activities unofolfing, a scene in another screen revealed in another large chamber, where an abundance of fine delicacies and drinks adorned the tables. The soldiers enjoyed themselves in the dining hall, their laughter and chatter echoing through the air as they enjoyed each other’s company. Faces adorned with smiles, as they indulged in the fleeting respite this momentary reprieve offered. It was a sight that both perplexed and unnerved Eva, for such happiness seemed strange.
Yet, despite the soldier’s joviality, the same couldn’t be said for the wretched slaves who endured unimaginable suffering. Eva observed another screen, her expression unwavering, as a desperate slave attempted to flee, only to have their life extinguished by the explosive collar tightly clasped around their neck. It became apparent that all the slaves were adorned with identical collars, devices of control and despair. The slaves were mere pawns in these inhumane experiments, but Eva regarded them with an unfeeling gaze.
"King Girsal, how far will your thirst for power lead you? I understand now why this Kingdom will be despised by many races in the future. However, in this fractured world, I have witnessed humans suffer at the hands of other races as well. So, I find no pity within me for anyone," Eva mused coldly, her thoughts devoid of empathy.
"I must admit, I am taken aback. This is the very place where King Girsal has built is secret army. With their present might and future potential strength, there was no need for the Heroes to fight the demons at all. This army could effortlessly obliterate them. Now I understand how he managed to conquer this vast continent in the future. It is a pity, though, that fate has brought me to this world," Eva murmured, her countenance tinged with a sinister grin, as she continued to shadow King Girsal’s steps. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
As he strode out of the hall and slipped through a door on his left, Eva trailed behind, her eyes silently observing the room that unveiled itself. Before her eyes lay a smithy workshop teeming with mechanical androids and humans who toiled diligently, engaging in the art of smelting iron and crafting a myriad of weapons, "So this is where they also make their weapons. Weapons that can directly attack a person’s soul making them unable to be even revived by a Saintess."
___________
The smithy stretched out before Eva, a sprawling domain of metal and fire. The air reverberated with the symphony of clashing hammers and the hiss of molten metal meeting water. It was a place where artisans, both human and mechanical, toiled side by side in a symphonic collaboration.
In the center of the smithy, a towering furnace roared with infernal intensity. Flames danced and leapt, casting eerie shadows upon the walls adorned with intricate weapon designs. Sweat glistened on the brows of the human smiths as they skillfully manipulated tools, their muscular arms wielding hammers that pounded against red-hot steel.
Each strike resonated with purpose, shaping the raw material into its forms.
Interwoven amidst the human craftsmen were the mechanical beings, their cold metallic frames glinting under the flickering light. With mechanical precision, their jointed limbs moved in perfect synchrony as they worked and mixed different types of metals and operated the craftsmanship of the weapons.
With an unwavering determination, these individuals were committed tirelessly carrying out their assigned duties. Yet, whenever King Girsal strolled by, they would graciously flash a friendly smile and offer a respectful bow before resuming their tasks. In return, King Girsal reciprocated the gesture with a warm smile of his own, a sight that seemed to ease any worries or tensions that weighed upon their faces. This peculiar reaction intrigued Eva, leaving her slightly perplexed.
Large tables lined with rows of completed weapons stretched into the distance, gleaming ominously in the dimly lit smithy. Weapons of various shapes and sizes lay in neat arrangement, their sharp edges catching the light in a wicked gleam. Enigmatic symbols etched onto the blades hinted at their supernatural properties, amplifying the sense of danger they possessed.
A multitude of individuals proceeded to gather the assortment of weapons, transporting them in sizeable trolleys as they departed the premises, their destination shrouded in mystery.
As Eva continued to survey the scene, she witnessed the symbiotic collaboration between humans and androids, "They don’t look like they were forced, but more like they are enjoying themselves," Eva mumbled as she looked at the content smiles of the humans smiths. They and the mechanical beings communicated through a silent understanding. A human hand delicately shaped the detailed engravings, while a mechanical beings, with precision, honed the razor-sharp edge.
