Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 108 - 94: rewriting future
"Why the hell should I tell you anything?" the Pidi retorted, crossing her arms and puffing her cheeks defiantly.
Barbados, unfazed by her resistance, responded with authority. "Because a god is asking!" he declared, his voice filled with a mix of command and curiosity.
The Pidi’s mischievous grin widened as she considered Barbados’ request. "I won’t spill the beans on why I possess the essence of time, but if you both promise to keep your mouths shut, I’ll teach you more than you know how to control your time powers if you’d like, Barbados," she proposed, her tone laced with a tantalizing promise.
Barbados’ eyes widened in surprise at the unexpected offer. "Really? Are you the one who reversed the timeline? Can you teach us how to better control my time powers?" he exclaimed, his excitement evident in his voice. He released his grip on the Pidi, eager to delve deeper into this newfound opportunity.
The Pidi’s smile grew, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "Oh, much more than that," she teased, relishing in the anticipation she had stirred within Barbados. "But first, you’ll have to prove that you can keep your end of the bargain."
"Wait a minute, Barbados," Azarath interjected, her voice filled with caution. "We can’t just trust her so easily. Think about it. Why would a goddess hide from not only us, but even the High god himself?" Her eyes pierced through the Pidi, as if searching for any signs of deceit.
The Pidi’s lips curled into a cold smile as she acknowledged Azarath’s sharp perception. "Ah, the Goddess of Wisdom, you’re quite smart. Impressive, indeed. Able to know my identity as a goddess with a glance. Truly, the goddess of wisdom of this world didn’t disappoint me," she remarked, a hint of admiration in her tone. "As for your question, well, that’s a secret I intend to keep. On second thought, considering the lack of trust between us, perhaps erasing your memories is a more suitable option," she added, her words laced with an icy chill. A golden glow enveloped her entire being, signaling her intentions.
Azarath’s voice rang out in desperation, attempting to halt the Pidi’s actions. "Hey, wait! Don’t!" she pleaded, but her words fell on deaf ears. Before she could finish her sentence, the room was consumed by a blinding golden light. Azarath and Barbados felt their bodies grow heavy, their eyelids drooping as an overwhelming sleepiness washed over them.
"Wow, to think I’ll get all the world’s knowledge from this goddess. I expect no less from the goddess of wisdom," Eva’s voice rang out of the Pidi as she exclaimed with an excited grin, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. However, her expression quickly soured, and her grin turned into a frown, "A pity that I can’t enter some areas in the heavens. All my Pidis that arrived here have been eliminated. Seems like someone has probably discovered my presence."
"Now then, let’s rewrite those memories," Eva chuckled eerily, as she extended her tiny hand towards Azarath’s mind. With a swift motion, she pulled out a small white ball, absorbing it into herself. In an instant, a new ball materialized in her hand, glowing with an ethereal light. Without hesitation, she reinserted it back into Azarath’s consciousness.
"Memory rewrite complete, now to do the same for the other guy," Eva declared, her voice oddly adorable as she hopped towards Barbados. Using the same method, she repeated the process, retrieving and replacing memories with her mystical touch.
"Information collection and memory rewrite complete. Information has been successfully sent to the main host. This Pidis would now disappear," the Pidi stated as it quickly turned into a dazzling light and disappearing without a trace. As Eva had completed her task, a profound change settled upon Azarath and Barbados. Their memories, once clear and vivid, now carried subtle alterations, like a jigsaw puzzle rearranged. The intricate details of their shared experiences had been subtly rewritten, leaving behind a new narrative carefully crafted by Eva.
As the Pidi’s presence dissipated, Azarath and Barbados slowly emerged from their slumber. Their minds still groggy, Azarath blinked her eyes several times to clear her vision. "What just happened?" she asked, her voice laced with confusion, as she turned to Barbados, who was busy rubbing his temples. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Oh, right. We were attempting to peer into the future, and it seems our minds couldn’t handle the strain, and caused us to lose consciousness. That’s why it’s usually best not to tamper with future sight when in the company of others. My time-manipulating abilities can place a heavy burden on both the observer and I," Barbados explained, extending a helping hand to assist Azarath in getting up from the ground.
Azarath’s smile widened as she commented, "You know, the future we caught a glimpse of was surprisingly tranquil."
Barbados nodded, sharing her sentiment. "Absolutely," he agreed, his expression reflecting a sense of relief.
"It’s better they don’t look into the future again because the real future would cause quite an uproar," Eva stated with an evil grin as she watched the conversation of Barbados and Azarath. She then swiped her hand over the screen, causing it to disappear.
I can’t stop them from attempting to peek into the future, but it’s definitely in everyone’s best interest if they hold off for now. Aurianna already has her hands full, and we don’t need any unnecessary complications. It would be quite a hassle if Aurianna would have to deal with all those consequences," Eva mused as she effortlessly glided through the majestic halls of the palace, effortlessly evading the guards who remained blissfully unaware of her ethereal presence.
Eva beamed as she floated through the opulent halls of the palace, her ethereal form slipping past the oblivious guards who remained blissfully unaware of her presence. "With the Pidi taking care of the trouble, it seems I’m free to pursue my exploration of the castle," she exclaimed, excitement bubbling within her.

As the moon cast an ethereal glow upon the towering turrets of the main castle, Eva passed through the walls of the castle as she explored all the halls and rooms. Moving forward, Eva ventured into a vast courtyard, where meticulously manicured gardens stretched as far as the eye could see. Fragrant roses bloomed in abundance, their sweet scent mingling with the refreshing aroma of jasmine and lavender. Sparkling fountains gushed crystal-clear water, sending playful sprays into the air, adding a touch of whimsy to the surroundings. Statues of marble and bronze stood sentinel, their imposing presence accentuating the grandeur of the castle grounds.
Eva then transported herself to the grand ballroom, gleaming chandeliers hung from the vaulted ceiling, illuminating the room with a soft, radiant glow. Mirrored emerald walls reflected the magnificence, creating an illusion of infinite space and lending an air of splendor to the already extravagant setting.
As she slipped through hidden passageways and was unnoticed by the occasional patrolling guard, Eva found herself in a grand library bathed in soft moonlight. Towering bookshelves lined the walls, housing countless volumes that seemed to hold the weight of centuries. Her fingertips gently brushed along the spines as she searched for concealed compartments or hidden switches. Each book she inspected revealed nothing more than knowledge and literature, yet she remained undeterred, her quest for hidden secrets undiminished.
As Eva traversed the palace’s labyrinthine corridors, they encountered lavishly furnished chambers. Luxurious bedrooms adorned with sumptuous draperies and adorned with plush velvet furniture exuded an air of tranquility and restfulness. In the dining hall, a grand table was set with fine china and shimmering silverware.
Eva let out an exasperated sigh, her face adorned with a bored and unimpressed expression as she floated out of the room, determined to continue her search. With each step, she ventured into hidden alcoves, ventured through secret chambers, and even delved into forgotten catacombs, driven by her unwavering curiosity and a resolve to uncover the castle’s secrets.
The more she explored, the more her discontent grew. Despite her thorough examination of every nook and cranny, all she seemed to find were mundane and uninspiring artifacts. It was as if the castle was playing a game with her, teasing her with its lifeless corridors and lackluster treasures. Yet, deep within her gut, a nagging feeling persisted, whispering that there was something significant that eluded her grasp.
Perplexed, Eva plopped herself down on the grand throne, her hand resting on her chin as she contemplated her next move. Frustration etched across her face as she pondered the mysteries of the castle. "There’s got to be something more to this place," she grumbled, her voice tinged with irritation. "I’ve searched high and low, turning over every stone, yet I haven’t stumbled upon anything remotely intriguing. But I can’t shake this feeling that there’s an important secret just waiting to be discovered."
"Hmm, I haven’t checked underground and lately, I’ve been sensing some strange energies coming from down there," Eva remarked, her gaze fixed on the ground as she floated towards it. Curiosity tingled in her veins as she reached out and touched the surface, closing her eyes in concentration. In an instant, a vivid light blue image materialized before her, revealing a bustling scene of people going about their business. A cunning grin spread across Eva’s face. "Looks like there’s something interesting going on down there. Time for me to investigate!"
