Chapter 85: Oye, Come Back for More, Yea?

She landed with a heavy thud, right beside Koga. The ground cracked underneath her feet as it always did whenever she landed, or launched off. Her jagged, short cherry hair alongside her enormous wings peeled back off her figure. Crimson armor still intact, and even...still dented from our battle.

It’s her again.

She steps ahead, her wings still scarred, black searing into most of the think and heavy scales, but her face, she wasn’t angry nor even pissed off.

Cloudjumper...looked...

Confident.

She threw out her hand, "Ryuuzen!"

With that same free hand, she picked up Sultan with such strength, and with that he was able to get back onto his feet. Not that he couldn’t in the first place, probably just lost the effort too, but her eyes focused on mine even more.

Way more than before...what’s going on?

Her mana signature, it feels...rejuvenated. Off—but it’s there. Present. She can’t hide this determined look no matter how hard she tries. So much, that even her tail has stopped wrapping itself around her waist.

Currently sweeping the grass from...side to side. Common trait of a dragon excited, I suppose. I would know, doesn’t happen often to me because...well, still human I guess. Getting used to a tail is still another thing to keep track of.

Cloudjumper looks at Vaniti for a second, not that my Consort know that she did in the first place. Blindfold still off. She scowls, for a quick second, and hides it for the next. Looking right back at me, smacking her fists together.

Before she even gets a chance to speak again, I hold out my hand in a disarming manner.

"I’ll deal with you later," I begin. Then, upon hearing my words. Her tail slowly stops beating side to side...and she looks more confused?

I point directly at Sultan. "You’re Chancellor will be dealt with tonight. No interruptions. And if you do not want to suffer the same fate he will, I suggest that the both of you back off."

My eyes then narrow down, "Now."

Koga hesitates, but Cloudjumper steps forward, inviting the challenge. Not what I needed, or wanted right now. I’m not here to get into another fight with Cloudjumper. Because then if I wanted to end it fast, there’s no telling what she would do next right after she gets up.

"I could care less about Sultan, right now." She says, her voice brimming with a newfound energy. Her eyes widening, beady, as if seeing something she thought she was never supposed to.

"All I care about, is a rematch. Me, and you. I don’t care if Sultan gets in the way, or the people, or the entire nation," She reaffirms. Finally standing before me directly. I look down at her as she looks up to me.

"This type of power...I can’t keep it all to myself, you know?" She says...but the more she speaks, the more confused I become. She speaks as if she gained some crazy power in a experience like that.

I would know, most likely not. No [Dragon’s Authority] nor any type of magic skill could give that gimmick. So the fact that Cloudjumper is able to walk, shit, much less talk while being significantly weaker than me is...something.

And also concerning.

"You had your chance, Cloudjumper. Blew it. Now get lost," I briefly mention. Brushing past her, not giving her any lick of attention any further. Job here is simple, get Sultan, expose him while I expose myself too, and get this entire situation over with.

My right hand reached to grab onto the rich robes Sultan had on, and before my fingers could even touch the cloth, I was held back. Another hand struck out and latched onto mine. Red fingers covered straight in crimson coloring. Armoured. None other than Cloudjumper of course.

How many more hoops do I have to go through? Why couldn’t she just stay down? This egotistical, arrogant, and cocky attitude of her’s is pissing me off more than I would like to even admit.

"Cloudjumper, last warning, get out of the way or I’ll—" I tried to free my hand from her grip, but any strength I exerted came back void.

She smiled, cockily. Feeling my struggle within her grip. This power to restrain my strength even now...where did it come from? It wasn’t there earlier.

Before I could say something else, Vaniti noticed the slight interaction of course. And it looked like she did not take it lightly when someone touches the Sovereign in any context. With a sleight of hand, she put her blindfold back on and raised her arm.

"Unhand him, at this moment," She spoke, her words clear, crystal, defining. Not necessarily threatening as to what those three are used to, but it seemed like Cloudjumper ran with it, and took it.

She scoffed, before using her free left hand and pointed it right at her. Palm directly facing her.

"Oh...how I waited for this one. Defend this for me, will ya?"

At that moment, it happened so fast I barely noticed it. No sigil, no chant, no kick-up or anything. A fire blast pointed at point blank range towards Vaniti.

I almost screamed, and before it died down, I turned around entirely to see Vaniti skidding back on her feet across the grass, just a few meters behind us.

Luckily, in that moment, she used her wits. Not fast enough to cast faster than Cloudjumper, so she braced it with her armour. Prismatic coloring bounced off the greathes as a gave out a breath of relief.

Turning back to Cloudjumper, I used even more strength to unhand myself from her clutches that she didn’t quite expect. If she’s asking for a fight, then it looks like—

No, actually.

Fuck that.

I’m tired of it.

I’m tired of everyone’s bullshit here.

Since the day started, I’ve had to tackle shit like this and it’s been non-stop.

I used to think of myself as a patient person, extremely patient.

But they’ve ran my patience ultimately thin.

I’m done playing the nice guy.

I spared Cloudjumper, and whatever comes next, I won’t even bother to.

With that being said, I decided to unhook an entire new move.

She looks at me still cocky, a smirk to even accompany it. But all I do is close my eyes, breath in just once and exhale.

Before flashing my eyes greatly at not just her, but something further past that. A level beyond what a Pre-Alpha dragon like her could barely grasp.

That the power of an Alpha Dragon like me does not just rely on pure strength, or my magic, my True Name, or my [Dragon Authorities], but the pure essence of what I truly am.

And if I wanted to so much as kill all three of them, I wouldn’t have to even so much as lift my finger. My presence is more than enough, and sometimes, it seems like a brush with death is what you need to start acting with some sense.

That’s exactly what I’m here to do.
