Chapter 28: Don’t you want to know?

Luo Tian, as a past-life ancestor of humanity, knew exactly how to utilize every ounce of his Golden Core realm Qi. He focused it using the sword, his new plan was to obliterate the Golden Halo bell talisman that was protecting Ximen.

"Damn! You—how dare you? Do you even know who I am?"

Ximen yelled, he was a bit nervous because he is in the Peak Stage Foundation Building realm, whereas this retard was a golden core realm cultivator. He was outmatched.

Luo Tian raised his sword, Golden Core Qi roaring like a storm. The blade pulsed with light as he gathered every shred of power into one ruthless swing.

*BOOM!*

The golden bell-shaped halo shattered, its fragments scattering like molten stars before fading into dust. The force sent shockwaves through the pavilion.

Ximen stumbled backward, blood gushing from his mouth. His Qi veins trembled violently, his aura collapsing as he barely stayed standing.

"You—! "You dare?!" he screamed, voice cracking between rage and fear. "Do you even know who I am?! I’m the True Disciple of the Sword Mountain Sect! The young master of the Wang family! You’re finished—your whole clan is finished!"

Luo Tian didn’t flinch. His sword leveled at Ximen’s throat, his voice cold and calm.

"You talk too much."

Luo Tian lifted his sword once more, Golden Core Qi spiraling around him like a storm ready to devour everything. The shattered remains of the talisman still glimmered faintly beneath his feet as he swung down, aiming to end Ximen’s life.

A streak of blue light flashed—

*CLANG!*

The collision shook the entire pavilion. Sparks flew as Luo Tian’s titanium-grade sword met another blade—the strike was caught just inches from Ximen’s neck.

An old man stood between them, his blue robe fluttering from the shockwave, his expression grim. A long sword gleamed in his hands, its surface engraved with ancient marks of the Sword Mountain Sect.

It was Elder Chen Tao, a Peak Nascent Soul Realm cultivator.

The ground cracked under his feet as he absorbed the impact, but even then, he staggered back three full steps, his arms trembling from the sheer force.

Cold sweat ran down his back. Against an ordinary Golden Core, he could crush with a flick of his wrist—yet this strike from Luo Tian carried something deeper, something far beyond a normal cultivator’s control.

"You—a mere ant—dare to strike a true disciple in front of this elder?!" Chen Tao shouted, his voice echoing through the hall, though the faint shake in his sword betrayed how close he’d been to being split in half.

Luo Tian’s eyes glowed faintly gold. His sword was still steady in his hands.

Luo Tian, after the clash, understood one thing: this elder, a Peak Nascent Soul, was quite serious about protecting this brat. If so, it will be hard for him to kill him today, and he noticed a crack on his titanium-grade sword from the impact.

Damn it, I should not have listened to the Child Prince, attacking him now was stupid, damn it. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Luo Tian was planning on attacking when he was ready, not when he was ordered. He acted because Prince Liyun was not someone he could afford to offend right now, he was powerful, like they were in the same realm, but Liyun had ten times more Qi than him. Then there’s also that Human Emperor seal that was bugging him.

Liyun, who was hovering above the ceiling and watching the whole time, smiled. Ergou stood beside him like a mountain.

"Hehe, as rash as ever, this is amusing. Let’s go, we can’t let that villain brat get killed. Slap Luo Tian so hard that he gets out of the mansion by sheer force, don’t hold back, he won’t die."

Liyun instructed Ergou, who nodded his head in response.

Liyun slowly descended in the middle of Luo Tian and Elder Chen. He was smiling, but the guests could clearly see the sharp pink wound on his cheek.

Luo Tian, seeing the prince appear, smiled too. He thought he was saved—Prince Liyun could explain everything, and he could still be recognized as the Luo Clan’s young master.

*DHWOOOOOOP*

As Luo Tian smiled, his face shifted from his jaw to the side of his head. It was a slap—Ergou’s slap—a Mid Stage Soul Transformation Realm cultivator’s slap.

Before Luo Tian could even process what happened, his vision went dark. His body flew toward the door, breaking it in half, then blasted through the mansion walls one after another.

He didn’t stop there.

He tore through the capital like a shooting star, crashing through hundreds of buildings, rolling, smashing, and carving a path of destruction until the city skyline itself seemed to tilt from the impact.

A single Soul Transformation Realm cultivator could level a mountain, and as instructed, Ergou didn’t hold back. The entire pavilion cracked under the backlash, its pillars groaning, on the verge of breaking.

The guests stood pale and trembling, their faces twisted between pity and horror.

"Alright, that’s enough punishment, Ergou."

Liyun said softly, noticing Ergou was about to chase after Luo Tian. The giant froze mid-step and bowed slightly before withdrawing.

"Luo Tian, that foul wretched retard, dared to attack me. If I hadn’t come in time, he would have killed the True Disciple Ximen of the Sword Mountain Sect. "

Liyun’s tone was calm but heavy, carrying a quiet authority that silenced the courtyard. He reached out and helped Ximen up from the ground. The man’s face was pale, but his eyes were filled with gratitude toward the tiny prince who’d "saved" him.

The guests looked at Liyun and saw the swollen pink mark still on his cheek. They began whispering among themselves, agreeing that Luo Tian must have gone mad—attacking without reason, striking an honored guest of the empire.

"He wanted to turn the Tang Empire and the Sword Mountain Sect into enemies by doing this. I’ll report this to my father personally."

Liyun said, nodding at Ergou before floating upward and out of the courtyard with a composed grace.

Ergou and the guards followed behind him.

Li Mei rushed forward, her eyes wet as she saw the little prince. Tears fell silently to the ground—just looking at his small swollen face made her heart ache.

"PRINCE TANG ZHEN LIYUN WILL COMPENSATE EVERY HOUSEHOLD WITH ONE THOUSAND GOLD TO REPAIR THEMSELVES!"

As the entourage left, the final white-armored Nascent Soul Realm guard raised his voice, his Qi echoing across the city so everyone could hear.

The entire capital trembled with respect, the little prince was always so considerate for the common people.

Liyun sat comfortably in Li Mei’s lap inside the moving carriage, her soft hands glowing with gentle green healing Qi as she caressed his cheek. The swollen mark slowly faded, the pinkness replaced by his usual pale tone.

Liyun’s eyes, however, looked bored. Through the open window, he watched Ergou walking beside the carriage, his golden armor gleaming under the moonlight.

"Do you know why I did it?"

Liyun asked lazily, his voice almost playful.

"No, Master."

Ergou shook his head, his face calm and eyes steady. His duty was simple—obey orders, not question them.

"Don’t you want to know?"

Liyun tilted his head, smiling faintly as Li Mei’s healing Qi pulsed again, the last trace of the wound disappearing.

"I don’t dare, Master... but—"

"If you want, you can tell me."

Ergou said finally, a bit of curiosity slipping through his calm expression. The way his master acted today—that sudden slap, that staged chaos—he couldn’t help but wonder what was truly going on inside that small, brilliant head.
