Chapter 370: Chapter 368: Surveillance (Part 2)

"You! Come out!"

Without acknowledging Hu Xiaodong’s murderous glare, Wei Dazhuang grabbed the dazed Wei Yang.

For the past two days, whenever he wanted to solve a personal problem, he would run to tent "38" and take Wei Yang away.

Initially, Lin Junfu and Hu Xiaodong would try to stop him, but later on, who knows what methods Wei Dazhuang employed.

In any case, when he appeared again in "38" to continue his "atrocities," Lin and Hu only showed protest on their faces but had no intention of stopping him physically.

Throwing a look at Zhao Huilong guarding the door, the latter quickly scurried in, then with his pitiful right hand, pulled out two steamed buns and tossed them into Lin Junfu’s arms:

"Here, catch them, this damn stuff was traded with that bitch’s body, so don’t waste it!"

With a slightly mocking tone, Zhao Huilong’s nostrils flared high with a snide enhancement like a king:

"Usually seeing you all being buddy-buddy, brothers this and brothers that, ha, in the end aren’t you all just living off a woman!?"

"What did you say!?" Already simmering with anger, Hu Xiaodong had held back because Wei Yang was present, but now...

"Hey hey hey!" Stepping back several paces in jitters, the sudden rise of Hu Xiaodong startled Zhao Huilong, who was enjoying his scolding, immediately adopting a defensive posture while shakily warning, "You, you, you better not cause trouble! Last time you got lucky because that bitch knew her place and pleased Wei Dazhuang, or the base would have held you responsible. If you dare act up again, ha, no one can protect you!"

Clearly, this was a bluff from Zhao Huilong, even he couldn’t understand why the base didn’t punish the "remnants" of the third squad for the last fight incident.

But the unaware third squad couldn’t judge Zhao Huilong’s words’ authenticity, so for the bigger picture, Lin Junfu stood up, called off Hu Xiaodong’s "threat," and ironically hinted:

"Enough! Little Hu! When a dog bites a person, we don’t necessarily bite back. Let’s just ignore those who like being dogs!"

"Fuck! Lin, who the hell are you insulting?" Zhao Huilong immediately leaped up realizing Lin Junfu’s implication.

"Insulting who? Haha, whoever’s a dog, I’m insulting. But... Brother Zhao, you surely know deep down what you are, if there’s nothing else, please leave. But of course, if you really want to guard for us, OK, no problem, suit yourself! I won’t keep you!"

With a face like stone, Lin Junfu’s words were cold as an autumn wind, piercing into Zhao Huilong’s ears like nails.

Zhao Huilong, infuriated and vexed, wanted to retaliate, but unexpectedly, the others acted as if he was invisible, turned their heads away, and began their own private discussion.

Facing such a "disrespectful" scene, Zhao Huilong’s self-esteem took a massive hit.

But as they say, one hand can’t clap alone. He wanted to make trouble, but no one paid him any mind, and in the end, he could only storm out of the "survivor" tent "38" after uttering some "empty threats."

On the other side, the survivors of Bieyuan District gathered together, with a handheld-sized display lying silently in the center of their round table.

The survivors had already learned the process of this mission, and they knew the town management vehicle successfully completed the recording task.

Next came the practical test; whether the monitoring device could indeed capture the materials the survivors urgently needed, the outcome of the next few minutes was critical.

The task of powering it on was routinely handed to the mission organizer Wang Zhongyu. He carefully took a thumb-sized SD card from his waist and slowly inserted it into the side card slot of the display.

As a slight "click" sounded, the survivors knew the preparations were complete.

Similar to most smartphones, the display wasn’t complicated to operate. Wang Zhongyu casually swiped the frameless screen twice, and immediately, a large brand LOGO appeared.

"Welcome to XX brand car monitoring device,"

As a mechanical female voice recited, the survivors’ hearts tightened because they all knew that the real test of the results was coming next.

Wang Zhongyu raised his hand to tap the player button, and with a slight swipe under the source file directory, a video file marked with the date of the day appeared in his vision.

"It recorded!" Raising his brows, he glanced at his eagerly waiting companions. Wang Zhongyu’s words, though somewhat low, were an encouraging boost for everyone’s tense minds.

Wang Qiang, impatient and anxious, urged: "Well then, since it’s recorded, let’s not waste time, quickly play it, let us see!"

Equally swallowing his saliva involuntarily, at this moment, Tang Xiaoquan’s anxious state was no less than Wang Qiang’s.

But to avoid adding unnecessary tension for Wang Zhongyu, he forcibly suppressed his urge to press for it.

Gently tapping the target file, after a brief blackout, familiar cursing voices resonated on cue.

"Quick quick quick! Get your asses out now! Don’t always act like lords in the vehicle!"

Undoubtedly, this was footage taken just after Wang Zhongyu was ordered out of the car at the stadium entrance.

The sight of Zhao Huilong’s arrogant demeanor in the images made the absent survivors gnash their teeth in hatred.

"Damn, didn’t think this kid was such a jerk, knew he was this kind of scumbag, we should have left him to fend for himself at the city management bureau!"

Wang Qiang seemed quite angry, but unlike his indignation, Tang Xiaoquan remained calm.

Yet his calmness stemmed not from acknowledging Zhao Huilong’s behavior, but because he truly didn’t feel like focusing on such "meaningless" insults at the moment, so he disregarded others’ reactions, pointing lightly at the display standing on the table, softly requesting: "Xiao Wang, please fast-forward past this part, let’s directly see the situation inside the stadium!"

Nodding absently, Wang Zhongyu also felt these things unworthy, hence decisively made an OK gesture, then with a gentle slide of his index finger, the image quickly flickered, and as it returned to normal frame rate, the long-awaited scene finally appeared before them...
