Chapter 150.2: Total Massacre (Part Two)

“Enough time? What do you mean by that?” Ran Xiaoli found his words strange, but remained smiling.

Lionfist’s instincts screamed at him that something was wrong, even though he didn’t know what the problem was. He sat up straighter.

After Chen Chuan finished speaking, he brought a hand up in a casual fashion, grabbed the Frost King Saber’s hilt in a reverse grip, leaned forward, and jumped.

The saber slid out of its sheath and went straight toward Lionfist, who was five meters away from Chen Chuan.

At that moment, it was as if time slowed down before Chen Chuan’s eyes. His powerful, mutated heart beat hard and pumped oxygen and energy-filled blood into all parts of his body.

All of his mutated tissue, even the ones in far-off corners, were mobilized and gathered together to form a great, unrivalled force.

That force charged into the Frost King Saber, and it trembled. Like a crescent moon, the snow-white blade shone in the hall, and its light pierced everyone’s hearts and minds.

Lionfist’s pupils dilated, and his nostrils flared. His mind started racing and screaming at his body to move and dodge or block the attack, but it was as if his body was filled with lead. It refused to move. He could only watch as the beautiful saber got closer to him before swinging down.

The sharp blade cut into the top of his head, face, neck, torso, and all the way down as if Chen Chuan was cutting through a thin sheet of paper. The saber tip came to a stop at only a finger’s breadth away from the floor.

After the downward slash, Chen Chuan maintained his stance while taking a step forward. Then, he moved his free hand behind him while the saber-wielding hand pulled the saber to his ankle. The long blade hung vertically while he kept his eyes trained ahead of him.

Lionfist remained seated on the sofa as if he was completely fine. His arms were still raised in an attempt to block Chen Chuan’s attack, but a second later, a straight, red line appeared in the middle of his face and body. Blood gushed out, and his severed body started sliding apart.

As the two halves separated from each other, all of them could see his organs and implants splitting apart. He looked like a cross-sectional sample of a human body one could see in glass cabinets in science labs. The fluid from his tissue flowed out with his blood and some other unidentified liquid. His expression remained the same, giving the impression that he could still pull his body back together.

Everyone in the hall stared at the scene in shock. It had happened so quickly that they couldn’t wrap their heads around it.

Lionfist had a bulletproof implant and glands that could corrode flesh and blood. He also had intimidating fighting strength, but none of it had saved him.

Chen Chuan’s speed had surpassed his reaction time. Even though it might have looked like he was just a fraction faster, that fraction determined whether he lived or died.

“He killed the boss!”

Finally, the lackeys registered what had happened. As they screamed in terror and anger, they drew their guns in a rage to start shooting.

Chen Chuan’s focus was at an all-time high, and his eyes remained calm. While overlapping with his second self, he felt as if everyone’s movements had slowed.

He crouched slightly.

The tiles under his feet cracked, and wisps of white steam came out of him. This was the result of a large amount of heat leaving his body along with the water within him.

He turned his wrist to have the blade positioned outward, then kicked off the floor with an explosive force. As the tiles shattered underneath him, he did a spinning slash, and the total span of his 1.6-meter-long blade and his arm practically put most of the people within his range of attack. The four lackeys near him were cut in half at the waist, and their severed bodies and limbs splattered on the floor like falling rain.

Chen Chuan heard movement behind him. It was the two Tuo Qis. They moved their four legs together and swung a saber at him, but the attack was just too slow. All Chen Chuan needed to do was step forward with the help of inertia, and he not only avoided the bullets coming from the side but also the first Tuo Qi’s swing.

Then, from the corner of his eyes, he saw Ran Xiaoli running to a window. She seemed to be trying to flee, but then he saw something covered in cloth and immediately realized what she was trying to do.

She wanted to release the bioweapon.

Chen Chuan turned around and brushed past the two Tuo Qis. One of them cut at him with a saber while the other pulled out a handgun to aim at his head, but Chen Chuan was just too fast. In the blink of an eye, he had already gotten out of Tuo Qis’ range of attack, while the bullet ended up hitting the wall.

At the same time, the two Tuo Qis felt their vision spin, and they were sent flying. As their eyes filled with surprise, the Frost King Saber cut into them.

Chen Chuan continued after Ran Xiaoli, but suddenly, the seemingly empty wall beside him shifted, and someone lunged at him from the side. He tried thrusting two knives into Chen Chuan’s ribs.

But Chen Chuan wasn’t surprised in the slightest. He didn’t bother to dodge nor even to slow down. Instead, his mutated tissue stirred into action.

They crashed into each other, and tendons and bones snapped. The person flew back and crashed into the wall where he had been hiding. With a loud splat, his mangled flesh and blood hit the ground.

Ran Xiaoli placed her hand on the cloth-covered box. The Tayana Combat Spider was in sleep mode. The moment someone gave it a specific external stimulation, it would snap awake and start killing all targets whose blood wasn’t registered in its system.

Chen Chuan trained his eyes on Ran Xiaoli. Due to the obstacles, he had been delayed a bit, even if he wasn’t hurt. He was unlikely to catch up to Ran Xiaoli, so he sucked in a deep breath, puffed out his chest, and shouted in her direction.

With a buzz, a shockwave exploded from him. The windows from the first to the fourth floor trembled violently before shattering. All the lackeys started swaying, feeling lightheaded as if they were drunk.

Ran Xiaoli screamed and covered her ears. Blood oozed out from between her fingers. Her extraordinary senses led to an even greater impact from the shout. Her vision turned black, and her eyes rolled back before she collapsed to the floor.

Lao Wan walked out onto the road and went to Hu Xian’s SUV. She frowned and asked, “Why are you out here? Didn’t I ask you to follow Chen Chuan?”

“He has his own plan. He wanted to attack them but was worried about getting me involved in the mess, so he chased me out. You know that according to the rules, I can’t interfere with an examinee’s test and have to respect their choices,” Lao Wan said gravely.

Hu Xian was shocked and punched the steering wheel as she roared, “What the hell is he doing?!”

She couldn’t understand it. Chen Chuan seemed like a pretty level-headed and cautious person, so why would he do something so reckless? She hoped that she didn’t have to go out to collect his body. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

“Get the guns ready, Lao Wan,” she said grimly.

Lao Wan nodded.

Hu Xian looked at the building. If something seemed wrong, she would rush in to save Chen Chuan. As for the rules? To hell with them. She wasn’t going to just watch a young, promising teenager get himself killed in front of her.

The next moment, they heard a shout so loud that it was as if a bomb exploded on the road. All the windows in the building shattered.

Hu Xian’s expression changed. “Something’s wrong! Come with me!”

She got out of the car and rushed into the building with Lao Wan. She kicked down the front door and waited for a moment before running inside with Lao Wan covering her. Once they reached the living room and saw what was inside, they came to a screeching halt.

Chen Chuan had his back turned to them and was standing in the spacious hall with his saber in hand. Wisps of white steam rose from his body. Since the windows had shattered, cold gusts blew in.

His red scarf danced with the wind, while corpses lay scattered all around him.
