Rise Of The Infinite Sovereign-Chapter 438: Cumulative Effect
Chapter 438: Cumulative Effect
Finalizing the bone strengthening, his body shines with a red luster, while very few particles leave.
So, on the same day, Ezra completed matters of the third stage as well.
Or rather, the second day, because twenty four hours had passed since the expedition’s start.
Folding his fists, Ezra punches air to see the effects.
Though not much, both the speed and strength had increased.
Rising, Ezra is both delighted yet surprised that he had reached completion in this stage as well, because he expected it to take much longer to achieve.
So he seeks an explanation from his advisor.
"Zydrax, I’m confused. Is stellar body refinement supposed to progress this fast? You said it took years for normal people though..."
Sighing, Zydrax begins his debriefing.
[Firstly Ezra. Understand this clearly, when considering cultivation, you’re the farthest person I’ve seen from the word ’normal’, and you’re only going to keep moving further from it the higher you go]
"I see"
[The mainstay of cultivation is its the cumulative effect] Zydrax explains [Unlike normal people, you became a fledgling sovereign right at the start of the Transcendent realm, which gave you both heightened capabilities, bigger mana reserves, better mana control like that as a result of evolving your biology and also granted you special abilities like universal concealment]
[Your heightened physical capabilities gave you an edge over others and your abilities multiplied allowed you to achieve things impossible by normal means]
[Killing an astral beast for example, is something impossible for ninety nine percent of Transcendents. But because of that, you were able to get astral cultivation elixirs and refine your soul with very pure essence. This is what I mean by cumulative effect]
He continues, [Because of your abilities, you’re able to take advantage of opportunities normal people can’t, which leads to an harmonious cycle where the disparity in strength between you and the average person increases the higher you go]
[Take this expedition or example. Normal first step nascents neither have the endurance, agility nor special abilities that would allow them to even survive not to mention win against three elemental beasts, but you do]
[Because of that, you gained three molten cores in a single battle, an impossibility for the average nascent and with the blood clot storm technique, you were able to refine and absorb more than 80% of it. With few nascents having access to top tier nova refinement techniques, they wouldn’t have been able to take full advantage of such an opportunity like you did]
[As a result, you grew stronger and rose to second stage, which in turn allowed you to fight and eventually win against the minotaur which led to you gaining essence of a starshard pool all to yourself which resulted in you advancing to the third stage and completing bone strengthening]
[In contrast, the average nascent has to be in a team of four or five before confronting elemental beasts if they hoped to survive and then after clearing each section, they would share the spoils, resulting in meager gains for the nascents involved]
[To this point, the starshard pool would have been no different, shared amongst four people, its effects would be diminished or on the other end, it could cause a fight as each person sought to take the most of it. So every section you cleared by yourself, you were gaining four to seven times the reward of the average nascent gained when put in context with the blood clot storm technique] Zydrax explains.
[Such is the effect of accumulation. The stronger you go and more opportunities you take advantage of, the larger the gap in strength becomes as the edge gained across each stage piles up, resulting in a disparity by culmination]
[And concerning your cultivation speed, the only ones I believe capable of following such pace are higher beings of universal civilizations]
[These higher beings are chosen talents carefully nurtured by the universal civilization with all their needed cultivation resources handed to them depending on their performance]
[But they don’t usually have proper combat experience, so you would have an edge over them in a fight, and except for certain races, your energy reserves would be higher than theirs as well]
"Eh? Are you serious? Is it that fast?" novelbuddy.cσ๓
[Of course] Zydrax ascertains. [Right now, I estimate your reserves to be on the same level or slightly below that of Venakred Kovar, and he’s a fifth step nascent]
"Woah. This...is beyond my expectations"
[Which is why I hadn’t told you this until now. I feared you would become complacent and lazy or unnecessarily proud, but I don’t think so anymore. Are all your questions now answered]
Hands on his chin, Ezra nods, pondering over Zydrax’s words.
"So it was like that" Ezra says, better comprehending just how much of an abnormality he is having accumulated so many advantages.
He did understand that he was a cut above average in regards to his strength, but Ezra never imagined the gap would be this wide.
As he thought about it, Ezra realizes that advancing across cultivation stages with such speed might become a commonplace event for him.
Zydrax steps in immediately.
[What nonsense are you thinking?] He questions, shaking his head. [The higher you go on the path of cultivation, the harder it becomes to go even higher and this is owing to a variety of reasons, so don’t make the mistake of thinking that it will be this easy to advance at higher stage, because trust me, it won’t]
[Most importantly. Don’t get ahead of yourself] says Zydrax, his voice stern as can be. [Continue as he have been doing up until now and things will be fine, but if you let it get to your head, you will most definitely regret it]
"I will keep that in mind"
[That would be best] Zydrax responds. [Now, shouldn’t you start heading back to the island, those dragons would have left long ago]
"I suppose I should" says Ezra...before taking a look at his torn clothes. "...Right after I make a change of clothes"
Changing his clothes again, Ezra returns to the third section.
He finds the place desolate, with the minotaur gone, it is to be expected.
The circular basin in the ground where he had absorbed the starshard liquid lay as it was, but looking to its side, Ezra spots something.
Beside this basin lies a small podium that Ezra was certain wasn’t there before, so he inspects the pulpit, touching it all over to check if there is some secret compartment to be uncovered, but comes up with nothing.
The pulpit was just that, a pulpit.
And seeing that it lay right beside the basin, Ezra theorizes that it is a mechanism that activated when he defeated the minotaur.
Meaning, there was something on this pulpit, a reward of some sort, but Ezra had missed it because he teleported to planet Ketta in a hurry to begin cultivating.
With that line of thought, it became easy to then guess what had happened to the said reward.
’Those damned dragons!’ Ezra cursed. ’They must have taken it!’
After having fought to the point of exhaustion against that dastardly minotaur and almost dying, someone had taken the reward!
Well, one of the rewards-but still! It is infuriating to have one’s items stolen.
[Settle down] here, Zydrax intervenes. [From the looks of it, the item on the pulpit was either a book or scroll of some sort and in these cases, the most probable answer is that it is a manual containing a nova refinement technique. So, you didn’t lose much]
"Hmmm..." Ezra’s anger cooled at those words, but he still felt deep regret having missed such a thing.
Thankfully, with the blood clot storm technique, he had little to be annoyed about.
’Although...It would’ve been better if I could give it to Fredrick later’ Ezra thought.
He already planned to bring the likes of Frederick and the others that had reached Transcendent rank into the galactic society in due time.
Now a third step nascent, Ezra figured it was now a good time to do so since he now had enough power to protect them along with authority thanks to being an elder of the red dragon clan.
Since he planned to do so once this expedition is over, Ezra had put a mental note and thanks to Zydraxs explanation, he was now fired up to do his best in this secret realm and advance to the fifth stage or even ascendancy realm if possible
Fully understanding his potential, Ezra had no doubts in himself as he now knew that such a seemingly extravagant objective is very much within his achievable means.
But with the secret realm opening for only three days, he would have to hurry things up.
Therefore, after looking around for another five minutes for anything else he could have possibly missed, Ezra leaves, flying out the designated exit-a large hole in the island’s barrier.
Through clearing one island, Ezra gained a lot, so he looked forward to whatever awaited him in the next one.
