Chapter 412: Oops

As for where the pieces of the bodies of the madmen came from before being assembled, one would have to look beyond the ginormous tower until they sighted the pieces being let down from above, held by a thin metal string.

’It seems the factory is even more than what it seems’ Ezra thought as he leaped even higher.

Ezra rose higher than the towering factory, but was still far from reaching the roof, so he supported himself by letting out bursts of flames under his feet, thus propelling himself higher.

The roof was not covered by your usual mud and sand, but instead a circular metal covering of the same black shade as the factory below.

The circular metal covering the roof opened at differing times but for only one purpose, to let off completed parts of the madmen into the factory below.

The parts were held by a very thin metallic wire that also looked very sharp.

Ezra decided against grabbing the thin wire and used his fire by placing it under his feet to shoot himself straight through the metallic cover.

Entering the cover, Ezra saw another large machine from which the thin metal wires were held from and used fire to propel himself once again and grab onto it.

Using that, Ezra held on till the parts were dropped onto the factory below and the wires were drawn back in, only then did the cover close up.

With Ezra using it as a landing post, he took a closer look over the dark compartment.

For one, after the metallic cover closed up, metal walls at both sides folded, revealing joint compartments.

All in all, the room expanded to three times its initial size.

Choosing a direction, Ezra headed into the compartment at his right to check what was within.

An hour passed as Ezra carried out a thorough inspection of the factories.

The factory was divided into two according to its functions.

The one letting down parts of madmen was the manufacturing factory that was connected to piles of metal which are then processed into individual parts and sent down below to the second factory, the assembling factory.

This part was of a more intricate nature, with many functions embedded within.

It collected the parts from the manufacturing factory and assembled it into one body, placing all the needed bolts and screws to make it immediately functional to join up with the other madmen above ground.

Both parts of the factories were humongous in size, comprising many technologies that not even Zydrax knew.

But Zydrax could still hijack the functions to suit Ezra’s needs so long he understood the overall programming of the factory.

So Zydrax got to work, directing Ezra on what to do and what to move.

With the ninth day just hours away, Ezra was forced to hurry, moving his body exhaustively as he changed multiple things.

Then, at dawn of the ninth day, Ezra completed all the needed changes and reactivated the factory, watching the settings shift.

Now the madmen would longer run around to kill any and all signs of life.

Beyond this, he also spent significant time digging out the buried parts of the factory, exposing all the wires left underground as well as the source that provides all the needed energy for the factories to work smoothly.

It was powered by an exquisite energy refiner that absorbed energy and then converted it to electricity to power the factories.

The sight of the machine shocked Zydrax, as it was of a high grade, making it extremely expensive.

Not to mention that the manufacturing period was at least two years.

Only when he confirmed all these changes did Ezra place his hand atop the factory and activate <Absolute Induction>.

Following its humongous size, a large area of space twisted in order to transport it.

Only after five seconds did the assembling factory vanish from sight along with all the components connected to it.

This was why Ezra was required to dig out all the hidden wires.

If buried under the ground, there was a very good chance the wires would be severed during the Induction, and without the expertise of a Grandmaster in machinery, the factory would be rendered useless and all their efforts would go to waste, so they had to do things very carefully.

With the entirety of the assembling factory moved to his universe, all that remained was the manufacturing factory.

Thankfully, both factories weren’t connected, but simply worked in tandem to produce madmen, else Ezra would have been placed in a massive dilemma trying to dig out the wires connecting both of them.

He had dealt with the assembling factory first as it was easier to take care of and thus faster to work on.

Starting to work on the manufacturing factory, his digging speed reduced as he had to be careful with how he would dig the wires out else the foundation could be compromised and, unlike the assembling factory, the factory would end in complete destruction as it fell into the space where the assembling factory was previously located.

At the same time, he had to hurry as he was now only hours away from the tenth day which would mean he would have to leave.

While he had left <Gatemark>s at many places within the caverns, he hadn’t tested the effectiveness yet...

’Maybe I should have tried it out before coming here...’ he thought.

Moving without rest, Ezra dug out all the hidden wires held in the ground and eventually exposed the energy refiner and then the compartment where massive piles of metals were stored connected to it by the end of the ninth day.

Thereafter, he inducted it into his universe, before sitting on the ground.

As he was resting, taking a deep breath, the ground began to shake heavily!

*Rumble!*

With the rumble reminiscent of that of an earthquake, Ezra made a hasty exit out of the mountain to check the situation, breaking out of the part where the manufacturing factory was previously located to appear outside.

Immediately, he locked eyes with thousands of madmen gathered in the passes of the mountain, whose heads snapped in his direction as well.

At the same time, the shaking stopped.

Working on the factories for the past day, he had momentarily forgotten about the existence of such a large horde.

As the madmen they were, they growled as one, the glow in their red eyes deepening.

Entering a frenzy, they swarmed the mountain and swiftly began climbing it, clawing their way upwards to Ezra.

As Ezra sought to conceal himself, the ground shook once again.

Rumbling louder than the first time, Ezra was able to view the happenings clearly now.

The rumbling went beyond the mountain he was previously in.

It encompassed the entire mountain range!

’What’s going on?’ Ezra wondered.

Zydrax’s voice rings in his mind soon after.

[The source of the rumbling is coming from something northwest of here. Go and check it out]

Concealing himself, Ezra leaped high into the air, landing on a nearby mountain and repeating this act.

With flying restricted, he hopped from mountain to mountain at a fast pace, all while the mountains kept shaking.

The more he advanced in the northwest direction, the more intense the shaking became.

At a distance, Ezra didn’t even need Zydrax to tell him, he pinpointed the mountain at the center of the rumbling by himself.

With fast pace, he dodged hordes of growling madmen and, like before, cut off the tip of the mountain, using that as his entrance.

Making a free fall into the mountain, Ezra found that it was, surprisingly, devoid of madmen.

But the source of the rumbling was immediately identified.

An enormous black mechanical construct mirroring the other factories lay in the center of the mountain to Ezra’s surprise.

He had thought the factory he had just taken was the last one since the Nascent factory was destroyed.

’So there weren’t just two factories?’

Unlike the last set of factories split into manufacturing and assembling, this one was both of those fused together, not to mention that this one looked more advanced than those two.

As a demonstration, this factory glowed dark green in succession like bars signifying battery life, before letting off a familiar massive rumbling that shook the mountain and beyond.

Being so close, Ezra had to block out his ears completely so as not to be deafened by such loud rumbling.

A minute later, the rumbling subsides allowing Ezra to take his hands off his ears just in time to be hit with another rumble, but this time it wasn’t caused by the factory in front of him.

It came from a factory distant from here.

Ezra could tell because he caught onto it right as it rang out.

Before he could process what this meant, he was hit with a third rumbling from a third direction.

Right as he was thinking of reporting this situation when he got back, Ezra felt movement from the factory.

A bunch of loud clicks resounded and Ezra watched as a new madman was created and pushed out onto the ground, but the moment its eyes came alive, Ezra’s instinct screamed at him.

With not a second to waste, he concealed himself, only to see the madman’s gaze stay on him.

’That was close’ Ezra muttered, his eyes narrowed.

Unlike the madmen he’d been dealing with till now, this one was literally on a different level!

The madman in front of him exuded the strength of a Nascent.

The nascent level madmen were said to have been wiped out, yet one of them was standing right in front of him!

Thinking about how likely it was that him plundering the factory was the cause of this, Ezra blinked multiple times.
