Rise of The Demon General-Chapter 399. New Residence
Chapter 399: Chapter 399. New Residence
"You are sure this mansion is for sale?" Amon asked.
"Yes, the maid who used to work in this mansion informed me that the owner had mortgaged the mansion," San Guo answered. "She also told me the inside already had a large basement, so you don’t need to build one. However, it is only one basement."
"That’s fine. We can add a wall at its middle and provide an entrance on the other end, making it separate basements."
"I have also made an appointment with an expert-level engraver and formation sage," San Guo informed. "Once you buy and renovate the basement, we can have them apply the seal formation for the basement."
Amon nodded. "Bring me to the district office. I will purchase it right away."
The two didn’t waste time. The buying process didn’t take long. Amon showed his kingdom badge and aer stones. The official handed him the deed and the key. By noon, Amon was already surveying the inside of his new residence.
The mansion was luxurious and had many rooms. It was also fully furnished, so he didn’t need to buy any furniture. He did not need them, though. If anything, he planned to clean most of the furniture to free up some space. Thankfully, the basement was empty and spacious. It was perfect for a place to train and cultivate, even if he split the basement into two.
He immediately started renovating the basement. He had San Guo arrange for workers to erect a new wall in it. He didn’t split the basement equally. He made one basement much smaller than the other. The workers also made new stairs to access the split basement.
The construction including applying the finish for the wall and the stairs lasted a week. After they were complete, San Guo sent the expert-level engraver and formation sage to engrave the seal formation. Amon requested a formation that also enhanced the durability of the basement walls, floor, and ceiling so they didn’t get damaged easily during his training.
After everything was done, he chose one room on the second floor and cleaned the furniture out. He set up his alchemical equipment there. He proceeded to arrange the other rooms as he felt necessary.
He then invited Xin Wuming, San Guo, Gao Lan, Qiang Dan, and Lu Fei to his new house. The five expected Amon to throw a housewarming party, only to find nothing remotely resembled a party vibe when they entered the mansion.
When all five had gathered, Amon asked them to follow him into the basement. San Guo saw that the stairs Amon led them to brought them into the smaller basement.
Amon had them register their aether signature into the seal formation shielding the basement. Like the seal formation outside this house, he set it so these five could enter as they wished. The only restricted section was the other, larger basement, which was reserved for him.
When they passed through the seal, they sensed a drastic change in the air. They were still walking down the stairs but could feel the aether getting denser as they descended.
"Boss, how does this..."
Amon signaled San Guo to stop speaking and follow. Arriving at the basement, they saw a tub that could fit one person. Inside the tub was glittering liquid. Whatever they felt in the air was getting multiplied as they approached the tub.
"This... What is this...?" They asked. Whatever the water inside the tub was, they knew it was special from the sensation it gave off.
"This is a mystical water I encountered by luck during my travel," Amon said.
"Mystical water? Is it like the Spring of Life?" Xin Wuming asked.
"Spring of Life? What is that?" Qiang Dan asked.
The Spring of Life was not public knowledge. Out of the five, only Xin Wuming knew about the Spring of Life because he was once a senior student of the Royal Academy. The right to bathe in the Spring of Life was the ultimate prize for the top ten students of the academy. Too bad the Royal Academy was destroyed by the spirit beast invasion. Because of that, their class never truly graduated. He had no idea the water before him was the same Spring of Life previously owned by the Royal Academy.
Xin Wuming himself never experienced the Spring of Life. During the mission to aid the puppet maker Shi Zi, Sima Fang didn’t grant him enough marks to get the droplet from the Spring of Life. Hence, he never sensed its aura. He couldn’t tell even when its water was shoved before him.
Xin Wuming tried to explain the Spring of Life to the others, but his knowledge was limited. All he ever heard was rumors from other students.
"I don’t know what a Spring of Life is like," Amon lied after Xin Wuming finished explaining. "But I believe this water should not be less miraculous than it. This water is the reason I managed to become a Mystic Stage cultivator."
"In that case, brother should use it," Xin Wuming said.
"I have mine. I spare this for you. The five of you will take turns using it. I suggest you all come here daily but at a different time. You should arrange by yourself who comes at what time. Each of you cultivates while bathing in this water for four hours every day. Trust me, even if it is just four hours, you will improve more than cultivating for twelve hours outside. You can have more time to spend on work and training."
"In that case, you four should use it longer," San Guo said. "I am not a talented cultivator. Even now, I’m just at the Peak Strength Stage. It will just be a waste for me to use this water."
"Nonsense," Amon said. "Your worth might not be as a cultivator, but that didn’t mean you could neglect it. If your improvement is too slow compared to us, you will one day be left behind. I don’t think you want that, do you? You will use this water the same as the others."
"If that is your will, I won’t hesitate then," San Guo said. Despite saying what he said, he did wish to become stronger. He simply felt lacking and didn’t wish to compete with the others. He was glad Amon insisted he used the water.
"All right, who goes in first?" Qiang Dan asked.
"We will draw straws to decide," Lu Fei answered. He took out five straws from his space ring."
"You keep straws in there?" Xin Wuming asked.
"We use these to decide a lot of things when I am still a bandit. I keep them out of habit," Lu Fei explained.
He showed everyone that the five straws had different lengths. He then shuffled them out of sight before showing them again. His clenched fist hid a portion of the straws, and the visible portion seemed equal in length.
"Everyone picked one. I will take the last," he said. "The one with the longest straw goes first. The one with the shortest goes last."
Everyone proceeded to take the straw. Gao Lan happened to pick the longest straw. She was first. She touched the water with her finger. A shivering pleasure coursed through that finger to her entire body.
"I can just enter this tub?" She asked Amon.
"Go ahead," Amon said.
With that encouragement, Gao Lan removed her clothes. Everyone except Amon turned away with slightly awkward expressions. Gao Lan didn’t seem to care. She submerged her naked body into the water.
"My God! This is unbelievable....!!" She exclaimed. The feeling that assailed her body was indescribable.
The others who heard the excitement in her voice felt extremely tempted to have their turn. Unfortunately, the tub was too small for two people. Even if it could accommodate two, it would be inappropriate to go in with Gao Lan being naked inside.
"Don’t waste your time getting drowned by the sensation. Use your cultivation art," Amon advised.
Gao Lan nodded. She forced her mind away from the distracting sensation. It was harder than she thought. The ecstasy was highly addicting. She started using her cultivation art but kept getting distracted. The progress was slow. She had to keep forcing herself by using strong willpower before she could get her cultivation art going.
Once she did, she felt intense bliss deep inside her. The dense aether from the water flew into her energy core. The feeling was nothing like her regular cultivation.
Those who watched her saw the water and her body glowing. Even the sight was captivating.
"Let her cultivate in peace," Amon said. He could see Gao Lan was already deep in her cultivation. At this stage, he didn’t worry about her getting distracted. On the contrary, it would be hard to get her to stop. "The next one in line can come four hours later. You may all enter this house as you like. I don’t mind. The only place you are not allowed to enter is the other basement. That is my private place."
"Understood, boss," everyone uttered.
