Rise of The Demon General-Chapter 338. Another Spar
Chapter 338: Chapter 338. Another Spar
Amon grinned. It was as if he had expected this.
"What the hell are you talking about? He saved our prince. If you want to cause trouble, don’t blame me for..."
"That’s okay, Senior Colonel Hua Ling," Amon said. "It seems that our guest has not had his fill of fun yet. If you want to challenge me, just say the word."
"Challenge you? What a joke. Who do you think you are? It should be the other way around," Xin Jingsao uttered. "Not to mention, I can sense your cultivation is lower than me when you struck me. If you apologize, I will let your transgression pass."
Amon’s grin turned wider. "You mentioned you became a Peak Transformation Stage at the age of twenty-seven. What about the Intermediate Transformation Stage? What age did you attain it?"
"Hmph! I entered that stage when I was twenty-three years old," Xin Jingsao said with an arrogant face.
"Twenty-three? What a shame. I became one when I was twenty-two years old," Amon said.
Xin Jingsao’s face twitched a bit. He said, "Everyone can spout bullshit! Do you expect me to just take your words like that?"
"I can vouch for him. He is the first-ranked student of our Royal Academy, and he indeed reached that cultivation at a very young age," Li Shi defended Amon. She didn’t truly know when Amon reached the stage, but she was happy to help bring this arrogant deacon down a peg or two.
"Whatever," Xin Jingsao said. He didn’t want to believe some unknown young man from Echos had a faster cultivation speed than him.
"It’s your choice to believe or not. Let us spar and see who the better cultivator is then," Amon said.
"Hahaha!" Xin Jingsao laughed. "Do you hear yourself? I am a Peak Transformation Stage cultivator, and you are an Intermediate Transformation Stage."
"Are you telling me you never challenged someone who has higher cultivation but is still within the same stage?" Amon asked.
Xin Jingsao snickered. He had indeed done that before, but he was the one who usually did that. The idea of someone doing the same to him was something that never crossed his mind because everyone who knew him knew that doing so was just asking for humiliation.
"You don’t know what you are asking for, kid," He said.
Amon grinned. "I thought you wanted to punish me for hurting your arm?"
That statement and Amon’s grin ticked Xin Jingsao off. He yelled, "Who said you hurt my arm? Very well, if you wish to get hurt, I will fulfill your wish."
"Wait!" Amon said.
"Having second thoughts, asshole?" Xin Jingsao asked.
"No, I just want to ask one thing before we spar. I have long since heard about the famous Flying Sword art from the Temple of Divinity. I want to experience it firsthand. Let’s spar using our weapon."
"No! No weapon is allowed!" Hua Ling exclaimed. They had just averted an international crisis earlier. If anyone died here, it would no doubt spark one.
"Don’t worry, Senior Colonel Hua Ling. You can stop us if things get dangerous, but we won’t go overboard," Amon said. He then turned to Xin Jingsao and asked, "Right?"
Instead of agreeing, Xin Jingsao said, "You can use a weapon if you want to. I will defeat you without needing to use one."
"... So, you are not willing to show me the Flying Sword art?" Amon asked.
"Like I said, there is no need to."
"Very well," Amon said. He started poking various spots in his body.
"Body-strengthening meridian points technique?" Xin Jingsao uttered when he recognized what Amon was doing. He then laughed disdainfully. His hands also performed the same poking method as Amon did. "Is this basic technique being considered a trump card in Echos? If it is so, then this country is even more pathetic than I expect it to be."
Amon advanced with a punch. Xin Jingsao just stood there. He didn’t consider Amon to be a manace. He didn’t use Xin Lai Palm. He instead used the fingers stab technique he first used on Huang Zen earlier. He expected to easily throw Amon off using raw power. However, when their hands collided, they were both thrown back.
"What...?!" Xin Jingsao was flabbergasted. His cultivation was higher. They both used the body-strengthening meridian points technique. In theory, his power should be higher than Amon’s. Yet, the impact he felt just now gave him the feeling their power was equal. If anything, he subtly felt that Amon was slightly stronger.
Xin Jingsao was not aware that Amon’s demon body received an unusual boost from the basic body-strengthening technique. Amon didn’t let go of his opponent’s surprise. He executed Silent Swift Shadow Fist and turned invisible.
Despite being disconcerted, Xin Jingsao was not a rookie. He acted once Amon turned invisible. He figured this was the same art Amon used when saving Prince Huang Zen earlier.
"Xin Lai Palm, wall form," He uttered as a giant tai chi symbol materialized before his two palms that moved in a circle. This symbol encompassed his entire body. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Amon reappeared when his fist crashed into this giant symbol. As it did, the symbol started spinning. The radial motion swept Amon’s hand and forced him to turn. Even the trails of fists following his assault were all redirected elsewhere. These energy fists slammed into the floor and ceiling, causing dents.
Amon had been planning to spar with Xin Jingsao since he learned about the deacon from Li Shi. Even without saving Prince Huang Zen, Amon would have found another way to provoke Xin Jingsao into a spar. He wanted this spar for a particular reason.
Thanks to Prince Huang Zen’s impulsiveness, Amon learned about Xin Jingsao’s martial arts before this spar. If he engaged the Xin Lai Palm without prior knowledge, he would be in trouble. Thankfully, he had studied it when he saw it in action earlier.
The Xin Lai Palm produced a centrifugal force that could repel almost anything it touched. This force could also infiltrate the body without causing visible damage and invade its internal organs. Amon felt this gentle yet powerful force gripping his arm. If his arm was not full of aether due to focusing on an attack, he figured the internal tissue of his arm would have suffered a few tears.
