Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer-Chapter 1744: Stubborn Brat
Jack recorded everything Sam has spoken.
"So, we are going to war. Everyone in the Dusk will be beyond excited."
"Why? Are they craving war that much? I thought our combat divisions are having a hard enough time with all the aggressive expansion we are doing." Sam replied with a smile.
"Nah, it is not enough. Because of your regulations, everyone is having a healthy work-life balance, most of them are spending their spare time in training, so people are turning out more skilled than we initially thought.
Particularly the batches of students from our schools. The initial batches of students are all breaking through Astral Plane. We might have more Astral Plane cultivators than any other organization that ever existed.
Even non-combat divisions are looking for more actions. People in the design and invention divisions are looking for new use cases. They are tired to being deployed for maintenance work.
And there are over a thousand patented weapons and weaponized systems that are waiting to be used. I think all the divisions are going to be in for a good celebration when they hear this. Not a single person will feel bad about this.
I think the main problem is to properly assign everyone so that they will get equal action.
Anyway, are you sure, you cannot come and visit our friends? We don't know when you will be available."
"I can't. I am pretty sure my movements are restricted to this very small region. I am still bound by the rules of this stupid game. I cannot just break free."
"Then, why don't you stay here for a while? I will bring them both. Even some of your other students. Some of them are still back at Desolate, I can use the space gates and they will be here in no time."
"Not a bad idea. I will..."
Sam was about to finish his words, but he was sucked away. He reappeared in the gray empty space. Hel is standing there. No other player is present there.
Sam was surprised and he frowned.
"What happened? Why am I the only one here?"
"Because your challenge is completed and I need some alone time with you to drill some sense into that thick skill of yours."
Hel said in a very stern tone.
Sam's frown deepened as he looked at her.
"There is not a single thing in this world that you are worthy of teaching me."
"I am not teaching you, bloody idiot. This is a fucking advice.
Stop provoking the gods and just stay put. Play the game like any other player and act like the bloody mortal you are.
I am telling you, this is purely friendly advice for you."
"We are not friends Hel and I don't need your advice."
"I am telling you, you are treading on thin ice. You are not going to be okay with whatever consequences are going to come your way.
What do you think Olympus is? Do you know how many gods they have? It is one of the biggest Celestial groups. They have the largest number of gods and some of the strongest too.
The faith they collectively accumulate is enough to feed a few small celestial groups. Not just quantity, but even the quality of the gods, their strength and power is no joke.
And the faith of the people they gather is one of the reasons they are in that position. You just foolishly threatened to destroy the foundation of that faith. Until now, Zeus is the only one mad at you, with your decision, every god in Olympus is going to be mad at you.
Now the rest of Olympus is going to help Zeus in making your life miserable from the next round of challenges. You are going to suffer terribly. You idiot."
"I don't give a fuck."
Sam is not backing down no matter what Hel said. He didn't like Hel to begin with and there was not a single time, he had a good impression of her. She tried to rig the game by participating herself, she tried to put Sam at a disadvantage every time.
It is actually a miracle that he tried to control himself so much. Of course, not being powerful enough to kill her is one of the reasons, but still. Nowadays, he is even about to lose it. It is very hard for him to control himself already.
Hel looked at him with a furious expression. She is beyond angry. She snapped her fingers in that anger.
Sam felt a weird energy wrapped around him. He felt powerless beyond belief.
He felt sharp energy tunneling through his veins and it came out through his muscle fibers like a very thin sharp thread before it went along to connect with the energy that is outside of him.
There is a weird tension. Sam stopped moving in his tracks. He felt like if he moved even a single millimeter, every single fiber will be torn apart. He will bleed and his meridians will be destroyed. It will be hard for him to heal at all.
He looked at Hel coldly. Even after this precarious situation, he placed himself in, he didn't care that he could be killed. He is so angry and pissed off, he felt like a stubborn brat. Unable to give in even though the odds are seriously stacked against him.
Hel looked at Sam and said.
"Now try and scream like you were doing just now. Your face will be torn apart the moment you speak.
Do you get how powerless you are now? Do you get how useless your anger and pride are?
You are an insignificant creature. You are going to die. The only reason for your survival is that you are remotely entertaining. Do you understand? What should I do so that some sense would be driven into that stubborn mind of yours?
Just because you disrespected his player, Zeus made your life miserable. And when you are disregarding his authority, he made you a plaything to his demigods. You disrespected his demigods and challenged them once again, you threatened them.
He caught a hold of your student and put him through physical and emotional hell. Now you are declaring a war against Olympus because of that.
Do you think Zeus, the undefeated and undisputed lord of all the powerful gods in Olympus, will just stay back and let you horse around?
You pathetic bastard. Get some common sense.
Next time, they will kill all of your students. Will that be good for you? All the efforts you put in the organization you have built from the scratch, it will be burned to ashes, will you be satisfied then?"
Sam who stood still suddenly moved. He started bleeding all over. His feather coat was torn apart, his back muscles were torn to shreds. His arms, legs, and even face was torn.
He didn't even groan as he forcefully made himself free from the restrictions.
Hel was horrified by this.
"Try me. Try and touch my students and see what happens. All this while, I have been tolerant of everything that has happened around me, everything I have been put through.
I have been tolerating this for far too long. Try and push my buttons again and see what happens.
Touch a hair on my students and see what I will do.
Damn this game and damn the consequences. I will stop caring about lives innocent and guilty, I will make your hell look like a paradise for all those people that fed the gods with faith. Mark my fucking words.
Sam fell down as his tendons got severed. He is bleeding like crazy. He could feel his head going dizzy.
Hel looked at him and gulped down nervously. Without even knowing she started shaking.
The trick she used to restrict Sam is actually a torture technique in Hell. Some souls that come to hell are obviously captured and restricted here to be punished for their sins. They are the souls that the reincarnation system has damned because of the sin they carry.
And they are an opportunity for the wardens of hell to gain some energy from hell. Helping them cleanse their sins by torturing them as punishment rewards the wardens. It is a reward only celestials and people on the path of celestials can access.
Hel used that kind of technique on Sam. Of course, she toned it down. The effect of the technique still pains the soul itself. Not just the body.
She knew Demigods who will stay still for decades trying to not get hurt by it. But to think Sam just destroyed his whole body just to give that answerback.
The stubbornness scared the crap out of her. She realized that just because of some benefits, she has started walking on a path of no return. She desperately wants this to stop, but the other variables are beyond her control.
She thought, the only variable in her influence, Sam would be her best shot.
But today, it is confirmed that he might be the worst shot she could have.
