Chapter 417: Chapter 417: Decision

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

Three of the aliens were injured by the blast but they didn’t even flinch. As if they couldn’t feel pain.

They surrounded Lu Hao immediately, their eyes cold and shining with purple light.

One of them shot a cluster of purple energy on him but Lu Hao disappeared on the spot.

The blast tore through empty air.

The next second, Lu Hao appeared behind the alien with his hand wrapped in condensed lightning.

The lightning punch exploded through the alien’s back, blasting a hole straight through its chest.

But the remaining aliens attacked immediately.

Energy blades formed in their hands as they struck simultaneously.

This was the first time in this life that Leng Pan witnessed a real fight from the aliens. Before, it seemed they were always testing something.

Lu Hao twisted midair as lightning spread across his body like armour.

The blades struck him but the lightning armour deflected the attacks. Blasting the aliens backwards.

His eyes glowed brighter with confidence.

Below them, Leng Pan’s dragon was already engaging another group of interceptors.

The massive creature roared as it tore through the sky.

An alien attempted to block its path. But it raised its claw and slammed it on the alien’s chest, crashing not just the armour but also its internal organs.

The alien was sent crashing downward like a broken meteor.

Leng Pan leaped off the dragon’s back. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Water surged around her like a swirling ocean.

Water jets shot out of her hands targeting the aliens trying to block her path.

When the water came into contact with the aliens, their armor began melting little by little.

As it turned out, she had used the acid water she had recently mastered.

She still swung her tang sword in hand and when the aliens who had their armor melting confronted her, Leng Pan spun in the air.

Her sword carved a crescent-shaped water blade across the sky.

SHHHH!

The blade cut through one of the alien’s shield like mud and sliced its arm clean off.

The second alien moved quickly around her and tried to strike her from behind.

But water suddenly surged upward and wrapped around its legs like chains.

Without turning around, Leng Pan’s sword flashed backwards and the next moment, the alien’s head separated from its body.

She didn’t even pause to watch it fall. Her eyes were still fixed on the portal. It was closer now.

The distortion in space pulsed violently as more alien figures prepared to emerge.

They were too many. They simply couldn’t be allowed to exit.

If they didn’t destroy the portal soon, another wave would arrive.

Meanwhile, the alien leader was watching everything.

Its violet eyes were cold. To this moment, it hadn’t entered the battlefield personally.

"You believe destroying the portal will save you?" it asked calmly.

"We don’t need saving. We will not only destroy the portal, but also you." Lu Zhen replied coldly. His gaze as sharp as a blade.

"You are too naive." The alien said with contempt.

It suddenly raised both hands and the air around the portal began to distort violently.

An enormous gravitational field formed around the gateway.

The space near the portal twisted like a collapsing star.

Lu Hao’s body suddenly slowed as he approached after slaying the aliens blocking his path.

"So, this is your defense?" He muttered coldly. His expression resembling his brother.

The gravity around the portal was several times stronger than before.

Even Lu Zhen could feel his flames flicker under the pressure.

Leng Pan frowned.

If they got any closer, they would be crashed under such gravitational force.

What were they going to do?

Behind it, more alien silhouettes were beginning to step through the portal.

Below them, the rest of the team were still trying their best to contain the aliens on the ground so that they don’t go up to help.

Time was running out.

For a brief moment, the three of them exchanged a glance.

Then Lu Tao’s voice suddenly crackled through their communicators from the ground.

"I might have an idea!"

Leng Pan frowned. "Now is not the time for your jokes."

"No, listen!" Lu Tao shouted. "If the portal is a stable energy gateway, it needs a balanced energy flow to remain open!"

Lu Zhen’s eyes narrowed.

"Meaning what exactly?"

"Meaning that if we overload it with incompatible energy sources, the portal might collapse!"

Leng Pan immediately understood.

Yes, the portal was receiving energy from the same source, and the alien leader had been acting casual and unconcerned because it needed to keep the portal stable.

But too much chaotic energy would destabilize the gateway.

But that also meant....

"We need a massive energy strike," she said slowly.

Lu Hao looked at both of them.

Golden lightning crackled around him again as if ready to strike at any moment.

Lu Zhen’s flames grew darker and hotter.

Leng Pan’s water spiraled upward into a massive vortex.

It was time to use one of those duo attacks she created with Lu Zhen before, but today, Lu Hao will join them

The alien leader seemed to realize their plan.

Its eyes narrowed.

"Foolish." It muttered under its breath.

However, this was a good sign for the three.

It showed that it was starting to panic, which meant they were on the right track.

The alien leader raised a hand again and the gravity field intensified.

The pressure in the sky increased dramatically.

Below them, several fighters nearly collapsed under the sudden weight.

Suddenly, Lu Zhen, Lu Hao, and Leng Pan moved at the same time.

Flames, lightning, and water combined.

Three massive streams of power shot toward the portal simultaneously.

Lu Hao shot his lighting a second before his brother and sister-in-law.

Then Leng Pan created a tunnel with compressed water molecules turning it into something similar to a high-pressure cannon.

Lu Zhen then shot a super hot crimson purple flame ball through the tunnel, which travelled together with the water tunnel and acted like a support system to push Lu Hao’s lightning forward.

This high pressure ensured that the gravitational force would not affect the energy attack or stop it from making contact with the portal.

The sky lit up like a second sun had appeared.

And the battle for Earth’s future reached its most critical moment.
