Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 398: Acidic Rain
Leng Pan got confidence from her husband’s words and stepped further away from them just in case it actually worked and she ended up hurting them.
She concentrated like she did when she first started training and focused on imagining the water falling as acidic.
Because she needed her thoughts to be more vivid, she imagined herself shooting sulphuric acid from her hands.
Like a miracle, water began to fall like usual, however, this time when it hit the floor, the tiles were corroded so fast it was unbelievable.
Even Leng Pan couldn’t believe it. She could tell that the acid rain she produced was not just sulphuric acid, it was something more potent.
This brought a smile to her face thinking that she now had a new weapon to use against zombies, aliens, and traitors.
She was sure that if such rain fell among a horde of zombies, they would be reduced to nothing by the corrosion of the acid.
"I did it. I really did it." Leng Pan nearly jumped in joy when she realized that she had succeeded.
She ran over to Lu Zhen and hugged him tightly while still laughing.
"Mmm...you did it. You are the greatest. Of course you would succeed." Lu Zhen praised her without any reservations.
This was something Leng Pan had come to get used to. She was glad that she had been impulsive that afternoon when she showed up at Lu Zhen’s office and suggested getting a marriage license with him.
It was the best decision she made after her rebirth. Well, that and refusing to give the space bangle to Bai Yinyin.
Thinking of Bai Yinyin, Leng Pan wondered how she was doing. She wondered whether she was still using that innocent act of hers to fool men.
Leng Pan would probably never know that Bai Yinyin had died quietly in some corner of the city. Without the space bangle and after awakening an almost useless superpower, Bai Yinyin had no chance of survival at all.
"Alright, let’s go and prepare to leave. We will leave this place after the sun sets this evening." Lu Zhen said with a rare smile that he usually only shows to his wife.
"Okay, let’s go and get ready to leave." Leng Pan said as she got out of Lu Zhen’s arms.
She turned to look at Lu Hao and frowned a little.
"Sister-in-law, is something wrong?" Lu Hao asked curiously while turning around to check himself out and see if something was wrong.
Leng Pan had noticed by now that Lu Hao was very sensitive. Even the smallest action would alert him.
"Nothing is wrong with you, but you look different, and I am worried that others might mistake you for an alien which would brew hostility." Leng Pan explained her concerns.
Even though she was set on brainwashing Lu Hao, she didn’t want him to be completely ignorant and get hurt when they went out.
"Oh, I can change." Lu Hao didn’t seem to think that this was a big deal. It was as if Leng Pan had just told him that the clothes he was wearing were inappropriate.
The way he said he could change, surprised everyone once again.
"What do you mean you can change?" Lu Zhen asked as he also turned to look at his newly acknowledged brother.
"Oh, I can look more like you." Lu Hao replied then right there before the three of them, his bones started to shift and move and the structure of his body and face changed slowly.
The process took less than a minute, but Leng Pan and the others felt as if it had taken an hour.
When the process was over, Lu Hao had a 60 - 70% resemblance to Lu Zhen. One didn’t even need to ask to know that they shared the same DNA.
They already looked pretty similar before, but now that Lu Hao had adjusted his bones, he looked even more like Lu Zhen.
"You guys could pass for twins now." Leng Pan said with a smile.
She was surprised that Lu Hao still had such an ability.
She had thought that producing electricity was already very incredible, but now she realized that she was just a frog at the bottom of a well.
Lu Hao’s abilities probably went far beyond those two.
"I like that I look like big brother." Lu Hao said with a silly smile.
He felt very close to both Lu Zhen and Lu Tao, probably due to their shared DNA. He was fond of them and also Leng Pan because she treated him well, and has said that they were family.
So, he treated her the same way he treated his brothers.
Even though he hadn’t left the pod where he was created for long, he was naturally very sensitive. And his sensitivity wasn’t just about outside stimuli but also emotions.
He could tell that the three people in front of him were genuine towards him. So, he was happy and comfortable with them.
"Before we go back to join the others, let’s get our story right. Showing up with a new member of the family who was unknown will raise a lot of unnecessary questions and suspicions. So, let’s get straight what we will tell outsiders." Lu Zhen suggested just as Lu Tao was about to start walking.
They all stood in the corridor and just to be on the safe side, Leng Pan made a mist barrier that isolated sound.
In this way, even if someone was close by, they wouldn’t hear their conversation.
"We can say that he is your twin brother or just Little Tao’s twin brother since he calls him third brother." Leng Pan suggested while at the same time she observed their faces to see who fit to be the twin better. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"Eh! Can he just fit anywhere?" Lu Tao asked in surprise.
But then it wasn’t so surprising since Lu Hao could alter his appearance at will. But he still looked younger than Lu Zhen. Unfortunately, he appeared a bit older than Lu Tao.
