Chapter 341: Chapter 341: Survival of the Fittest

"Survival of the fittest." That was all the aliens said.

Lu Zhen looked at the alien angrily before moving forward subtly and hiding Leng Pan behind his wide back.

"Keep looking and you will go back to your maker blind." His voice had a deadly touch that told the alien that he wasn’t joking.

He would go through with the threat if he looked at his wife again.

"Stingy." The alien said lightly.

Anyone who didn’t know the truth would think that this was a meeting of friends.

"Go back and tell your leader to pack their ugly asses and get out of this planet.

If it’s survival of the fittest, then we will make sure that all alien DNA is completely wiped out to prevent another invasion." Leng Pan warned sternly before pulling Lu Zhen and turning to leave.

She didn’t think they could kill the alien in that cage they made.

And for some reason, she didn’t sense any hostility that most of the aliens had towards humans.

So, she decided to let the alien go.

"That’s it? Then how am I going to get out of this place? At least summon your barrier back!" The alien shouted towards their backs as they moved further away.

"Find a way for yourself." Lu Zhen muttered and only the silent echo of his words reached the alien causing it to laugh as if it had heard something interesting.

What the two didn’t notice as they walked away was the cloak of sadness that floated over the entire being of the alien before disappearing without a trace.

It stood in the same spot watching the two humans holding hands as they walked further and further away before it disappeared on the spot.

As Lu Zhen and Leng Pan had suspected, the cage they had made could never trap it.

It had stayed inside just because it wanted to not because the trap was strong enough to hold it.

When the aliens disappeared, the cage also evaporated and Leng Pan and Lu Zhen felt it.

They realized that their guess was right, the alien had a way to leave there.

But they didn’t dwell on it and simply walked back to where their companions were waiting.

"Did you find it?" Uncle Li asked cautiously when he saw his nephew and niece-in-law come back safely.

"Yes we did. It’s no threat now. Let’s go back." Leng Pan replied curtly without giving any more details.

Everyone realized that she didn’t want to explain and no one asked about it again.

They pushed their carts while others pulled and others just played on the way as they went back to their residence.

On the other side, the handsome alien appeared in a building furnished in a similar way to humans.

There were other people in the house playing cards around the table in the living room.

"Boss, did you find them?" One of the people playing cards asked as soon as the handsome man appeared.

If Leng Pan was there she would recognize the people playing cards as the ones they saw the last time they were out.

They were fighting zombies and claiming to be looking for someone for their boss.

They even seemed to have recognized the people they were looking for as Leng Pan and Lu Zhen.

"Mmm... I did. They are still the same as before, expect, they are together this time." The handsome man replied with a barely noticeable melancholy in his voice.

"Is there anything else we can do to help?" Another person asked while looking at the ’boss’ sympathetically.

"Nothing, you just need to observe the Princess’s side and report any changes to me.

Also help me cover those two idiots tracks. They are still so weak and have already exposed themselves completely." The boss instructed before standing up and heading to his bedroom.

The other people around the table looked at each other and shook their heads.

The boss always acted like he didn’t care but he would still take action to protect those people he kept calling idiots.

Wasn’t he the biggest idiot?

However, none of them dared to utter a word as they were afraid of being hung upside down to dry in the sun.

"Let’s go get it done. The boss should mop around for a couple of days, long enough for us to complete our tasks." One person who seemed to be the leader spoke before placing the card on his hand down and standing up.

"Stop pretending to be diligent, you just realized that you were about to lose and wanted to abscond the win.

Anyway, you are always playing dirty." Another person spoke and he too placed his cards down and stood up.

The others looked at each other in dismay and stood up as well.

Everyone went back to their rooms and came back with a backpack on their backs.

They walked out the front door and went down the stairs before leaving their building.

This place was actually not too far from where Lu Zhen and his crew lived. It was only a thirty minute walk.

The handsome man was left alone in the whole house.

He stood before the glass window and observed the world of ice and snow outside.

He looked in one direction for a long time before turning around and walking to the bed placed in the room.

He lay down with his hands placed on the back of his head and looked at the ceiling as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.

His heart felt empty.

He wondered if humans knew that aliens had hearts too.

They were just a different shape, but they beat the same and hurt the same when one was sad.

With a silent sigh, he closed his eyes as if he had fallen asleep.

On the other side, Leng Pan’s team arrived home and some of them climbed back into the building through the same window they had used on their way out while others remained outside to help in unloading the boxes.

How do you like the twist coming into the story? Would like me to explore it more or follow the usual line of the story?
