Chapter 322: Chapter 322: Hunting Aliens

I am grateful I can live a healthy life even when the world is collapsing." Momo finally found some words she thought sounded like motivational speaking and said them with a convincing energy.

Even Leng Pan was nearly convinced. Nearly.

Now that the awkwardness was lifted, the team leaders got down to business. Yeah these people were the self-proclaimed leaders of the various groups within the team.

"Have any of you seen an alien in your daily outings?" Leng Pan asked as she wanted to know how widespread the aliens were.

"We haven’t." Everyone shook their heads.

"Moreover, at the moment, we don’t have those little gadgets to help us detect the aliens. So, even if we met one in disguise, we might not be able to tell." Momo said in disappointment.

She wished that they had the gadgets they used in the ancient earth to detect aliens. However, with the lack of technology in this world, it might be a problem to do that.

"The aliens are probably going to be banking on our lack of equipment to detect them to infiltrate safe bases and replace many people.

We have to find a way to distinguish them and act fast, otherwise if we delay, earth might only be left with a few humans by the time we take action." Sonny suggested but even he was not optimistic.

"I think Lu Tao might be able to make something. But I am not sure if he can create something useful without a sample of the alien DNA for sequencing." Leng Pan wondered out loud and everyone turned to look at her.

They hadn’t expected there to be any hope, but it seemed they might be in luck.

"We can go out and look around to see if we can capture an alien or at least get their blood before the snow becomes too much to allow us to walk." Lu Zhen, who had been listening quietly, suggested.

"There is no need to worry about the snow. It’s already covering almost the entire ground floor but it has started hardening into ice.

In a couple of days, we will be skating on ice and not moving in snow." Ouyang Jin had realized this while they were making their way here.

Even though the soil was almost buried more than two meters deep, they had still been able to walk through the snow that only reached their thighs.

That was when he realized that the snow at the bottom had hardened into ice.

This also meant that as long as the snow kept falling, more ice would form and the colder it got the more the snow would freeze to ice.

But this was a good thing because they could still go out and scavenge for supplies that way.

"That’s a good idea then. Let’s wait for two days before going out. I am sure that those creatures aren’t obediently hiding away anyway since they are the cause of such weather.

They must be using it as a cover to do some bad things. So, let’s take advantage of that and catch a couple of them." Leng Pan had no mercy for creatures who didn’t respect human life.

"Okay, enough of those alien talk. Do you guys have enough food with you?" Li Yunjia felt depressed just listening to the young people talk about aliens and killing.

Even though she knew that it was inevitable to kill at this point and the survival of the human race might even depend on it, it didn’t mean that she liked it.

If given a choice, she would choose the wars that raged among humans like world war one or world war two over what was happening now.

Unfortunately, they didn’t have the luxury of making such a choice.

"We do have some supplies that should last us a while. I just wish I could get meat. I haven’t eaten meat in such a long time. I am about to go crazy." Momo replied while still complaining.

"You should be grateful you still have something to eat. Some people have already starved to death and you are still being picky.

Moreover, it’s not like you haven’t had meat recently. Didn’t you eat some canned beef a few days ago?" Ouyang Jin felt a headache coming when it came to this high-maintenance lady.

She was so used to having fine food and wine that she felt like she was being shortchanged now.

But the circumstances didn’t allow for them to enjoy such luxuries anymore.

"I was just complaining. Even though life is hard, we are still allowed to complain about our circumstances." Momo wasn’t trying to make things difficult for anyone.

"I’ll give you some meat. Your taste hasn’t changed at all. It seems that you will have to shade your elegant dresses and go out there to search for live animals that haven’t mutated. We can find a way to raise them for meat." Leng Pan added.

"Really? You have meat? Hahahahaaa...like always, you are my life saver commander." Momo laughed happily as if she had won the lottery.

"Eh, we have meat to eat? Why didn’t I think of coming here sooner?" Ouyang Jin asked with mock surprise.

"Weren’t you avoiding Commander Qui before?" Lu Zhen questioned and everyone became serious again.

"Any news of the Commander?" Ouyang Jin asked after a short silence.

Lu Zhen and Leng Pan turned to look at Silk who had been quiet all this time.

"The Commander only called a couple of days ago and gave us an ultimatum to find the catalyst core, otherwise we should go back and receive punishment.

But he will soon find out that we have defected.

I don’t know what will happen to Raze and Blink." Silk said softly.

It was both funny and sad to see such a spirited soldier look so dejected.

But it was understandable that he was worried about his companions.

"Why don’t you give them a communication device that they can use to call for help if something happened to them and they need rescuing?" Leng Pan suggested this because she understood the pain of losing teammates.

The last apocalypse had given her too many experiences.

For my friends who have come this far, my book is participating in the WSA competition and it’s rank has fallen too much.

I implore you to share the book with others and send more gifts, golden tickets and powerstones to increase its visibility.

It doesn’t matter if the gist is an ice cola, a capsule, or massage chair.

Anything is appreciated. If it reaches the rank of a magic castle, space craft or the highest gift, I will be even more thankful as this will increase the visibility of the book multiple times.

With more people reading and adding it to their collection, it will raise it’s rank.

There are only a few days left before the end. Please help me raise it’s rank in these few days. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

I really appreciate you guys.

Thank you so much.
