Revenge Begins: Reincarnated as a Hated Idol!-Chapter 35: Rising Tides
The next day’s popularity scores were different.
Episode 3 of To Your Heart received 95,000+ whereas The Insiders saw a drop, with its score coming in at 113,000+.
The difference between the two shows had reduced from 29,000 to 18,000, a significant drop in the difference.
A drop in the following episodes after the premiere was normal since many shows failed to grab the audience’s attention with only a few episodes, but they would naturally rise again after good word-of-mouth.
Moreover, great dramas paid attention to detail to enhance the viewers’ immersion. This made the viewers turn away for a while at the start, displaying a drop in the viewership.
However, after a week when the fourth episode would air, the discussions about the drama would make more viewers interested in following the drama, increasing the viewership.
But judging by the current data, To Your Heart was clearly on the rise compared to The Insiders.
Still, nobody dared to think that To Your Heart could surpass The Insiders, at least not yet.
Meanwhile, both shows experienced heavy discussions on social media.
Theon’s fans were fervently praising Theon wherever they went.
[Theon is the real star of The Insiders. AAAH, he is so cool.]
[I don’t understand why a certain someone’s GIFs are going so viral. Our Theon is obviously cooler.]
[I’m completely hooked by The Insiders. Theon is the highlight of the show.]
Thanks to BlackShore Management’s PR team, any post praising Theon would go viral, whereas any post criticizing him would get no views whatsoever. Some comments would even get deleted.
Meanwhile, To Your Heart’s discussions were filled with praise of Shin, especially due to the latest episode.
[Ah, Shin is so cunning. I can guarantee he is doing all this to support his sister and make a living.]
[Shin should just do modeling. Why use that pretty face for fighting? Ah, I forgot he is just a character. Aren has portrayed him too beautifully.]
[I’m pretty confused about the storyline. Wasn’t Shin crying for Nataly at the end of the first season? How come there is no romance between them till now?]
[+1. I was also thinking the same. Nataly is just suffering until now, but I can’t stop watching.]
[In the latest episode, Shin’s making his sister’s bullies slap each other was the funniest moment.]
[The funniest moment is that GIF that’s going viral. Shin pushing that fat girl. It’s all over the internet, used as a meme. hahaha.]
[I’m sad. There will be no episode for a week. Help me.]
While the discussions only kept growing, Aren watched the third episode of The Insiders.
This episode had a few high-tension moments; however, Theon’s appearances had suddenly increased.
There was even a subplot of him being the heartthrob of the girls in the office, which looked even more forced, considering Theon’s acting that pushed viewers away.
His interactions with the other girls seemed even more awkward, with no romantic tension that could justify that subplot.
The only plus for the episode was Ryan and Luna’s scenes in which they tried to outmaneuver each other. But since most of the episode was devoted to Theon, those scenes of the leads didn’t manage to leave a lasting impact.
The next day, Aren received a message on his LinkChat from Livia Entis.
[Can we meet?]
Has she made her decision? Aren thought before typing a reply and deciding on a place to meet.
The next day, Aren sat in front of Livia in a mask and cap, asking:
"So? Why did you want to meet?"
She looked him up and down and smiled. "I watched your drama. It helped me make my decision."
"Hmm," Aren said as he sipped his coffee and then looked at her. "So, what did you decide?"
"I would’ve liked to negotiate my salary a bit, but it is already high, so I won’t act cheap." She smiled bitterly.
"But in Titan Crest Entertainment, I would have a team helping me, and here I’m a lone worker. On top of that, I would get a promotion or a salary hike."
"So," she continued, "can I ask you how much salary hike you would give me each year?"
He held up two fingers. "Twenty percent."
Livia flashed a satisfied smile and extended her hand for a handshake: "Thank you for hiring me."
Resting the cup of coffee on the table, Aren shook her hand. "Thank you for joining me."
Retrieving his hand, he took a sip from the cup of coffee and then spoke with a smile.
"Let me give you your first task then."
Livia’s ears perked up, listening to his next words intently.
"I want you to get me admission to the Valcourt University of Entertainment and that too in the senior-year management class."
Livia’s eyes widened in surprise and confusion: "Why...?" she asked with bewilderment. "Do you want to learn talent management?"
Aren shook his head: "No..." He smiled. "I just want to be able to go in and out freely from the senior-year management class."
Livia remained silent, contemplating her options before she gave a response.
"If that’s all you want, then instead of getting admission, just attend as a guest celebrity."
Aren’s eyes widened as he remembered this. He hadn’t paid much attention to Neil’s university, so he had forgotten that the university allowed celebrities to attend classes for a brief period without any constraints.
They could just attend classes and form connections with their students.
For a management university, letting the management students meet celebrities was a requirement they had to fulfill anyway.
They sometimes even went as far as to hire a few celebrities. After all, no successful celebrity had the time to interact with children who only wanted to benefit from them.
However, Aren was different. He had a motive in going to the university.
He could finally meet his daughter and check on her well-being, and if possible, find out more about the situation with his wife and Neil.
