Chapter 474 - Sacred Artifact, Moon God Statue (2)

Boom! Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Arc after arc of white crescent blade attacks spun out of its body. Hundreds of scythe-like discs filled the entire hall in the blink of an eye. They rotated with a thunderous roar, as though tens of thousands of bees were beating their wings.

"Go!" The Black Moon Clan Leader gestured and the discs swarmed Odo like piranhas smelling blood.

Bang!

Odo maneuvered swiftly as his fist collided with one of the scythe discs. He unleashed the Fractured Moon Force, blasting it back into moonlight shards. However, a long gash remained on his fist, causing blood to trickle down.

His fists continued striking, but they were soaked in blood within moments. Some discs he couldn't shatter carved right into his body, slicing openings in the spider-leg armor.

"Aaah! Damn it!"

"They're too sharp..."

Not far away, his subordinates groaned in pain; it was clear that Sigal's side had been wounded. The Black Moon Clan Leader's assault barely allowed Odo to hold his own, let alone the weaker Sigal and his comrades.

Zing! Zing! Zing!

The scythe discs hacked into walls, floors, and columns one after another. Stone fragments scattered, leaving deep cracks and widespread destruction.

"You think you're the only one with a trump card?!" Odo suddenly jerked his head to the side, a thin cut forming on his cheek from a scythe disc.

He didn't glance at his subordinates, but warned loudly, "Sigal, if you see any sign of me going insane... Take the Kam brothers and leave this church at once."

Crack, crack, crack...

As soon as he spoke, a series of bones cracked from within Odo's body, like beans popping in a hot pan. He activated his Golem totem, causing his physical strength to multiply many times over. In the blink of an eye, Odo's frame rivaled that of his bear-like disciple.

With his spear-like spider limbs, he appeared even more monstrous and massive. From afar, he resembled a towering beast.

A second later, Odo, in his Golem state, assumed the opening stance of the Illusory Moon Fist. Terrifying muscles and dark-blue tendons throbbed across his skin. A hellish flame raged inside his body, sending scorching, chaotic emotions flooding his mind. At that moment, it felt like his brain was roasting. A host of disordered thoughts and desires burst forth without restraint, assailing Odo's will. His eyes turned crimson as he gasped heavily.

The Illusory Moon Fist worked by unleashing one's emotions, using them as fuel in combat. Once he activated his Golem totem, a dreadful influence would grip him. He would become consumed by violent, deranged impulses and would desire to brazenly vent them all. That was why Odo had told his disciples to retreat.

In this state, Odo was more like a berserker; the more bloodthirsty the fight, the stronger he grew. However, he may also lose his mind and attack allies in the process. Hence, he never wanted to use the Illusory Moon Fist in tandem with the Golem totem except when absolutely necessary. Yet clearly, the time had come.

Swish!

A pair of blood-red eyes landed on the Black Moon Clan Leader. A savage, violent expression spread across Odo's face as his massive, totem-etched body surged forth like a heavily armored tank. Each footstep left a crater in the floor and each swing of his fist was like meteors crashing down.

Bam, bam, bam, bam!

He smashed the whirling scythe discs head-on. Typically, a single punch from Odo would shatter a disc into sand.

Braving the barrage of scythe discs, Odo's Fractured Moon Force truly "fractured the moon" with every blow of the Illusory Moon Fist! His fists opened and closed like colossal millstones, grinding every scythe disc to dust. His imposing figure charged forth with pale moonlight trailing behind him.

"Get out of my way!!!" The Black Moon Clan Leader slammed its hands together, merging over half the scythe discs in the hall into a single full-moon disc that was over ten meters across. The moon rumbled forward with a fierce sweep of its right hand!

A deep, wide trench was plowed into the solid floor.

Boom!

The full-moon disc, which was the size of a house, slammed into Odo with a thunderous crash. Odo dug his feet into the ground as the overwhelming force shoved him back, leaving two deep tracks in the floor.

His eight spider legs braced against the full-moon, holding against it. Then, his fists, each the size of a human head, hammered the full-moon's surface like a raging storm.

It was like forging metal, one strike after another.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Sparks flared in a chain reaction, accompanied by rippling bursts of air. The shattering force accumulated, building up until it peaked. A fierce light flashed in Odo's eyes as he threw one final punch!

"Fracture!!!"

Boom! Crack! Crash...

The house-sized moon disc burst upon impact, dissipating into a misty shower. Odo whipped around and spotted the Black Moon Clan Leader racing for the underground corridor.

"Where do you think you're going?! Dying by my fist is your fate!" He dashed after it with a roar.

The two figures, one ahead, one behind, streaked into the underground passage.

Sigal and the Kam brothers exchanged glances, noted each other's injuries, and decided to withdraw so as not to drag down their master. However, no sooner had they exited the church than the whole structure shook violently. It felt as though an explosion had erupted below and shook the ground like an earthquake.

Boom!

A tall, blood-drenched figure was hurled upward, punching a hole through the ground floor. Odo smashed down near the corner of a wall, right beside the hole the Black Moon Clan Leader had carved.

Coughing blood, he glanced toward the center.

Crack, crack, crack... Boom!

Two colossal hands, clad in rock-like armor, gripped the rim of a two-meter-wide opening. Since the hole was too small, the hands tore at it, crumbling the edges like broken biscuits.

In an instant, a third of the church hall's floor collapsed and the black void was illuminated by moonlight, revealing an enormous statue. It stood over ten meters tall with its surface coated by a semi-translucent, jade-like rock, arranged like plated armor.

A pair of slender arms was crossed before its chest in prayer. Above the shoulders was another pair of arms raised high, posed like a lotus bloom. There was a vast, circular halo radiating white moonlight atop its palms. Several black comma-shaped magatama, like tiny fish, drifted on that smooth surface. There were nine in total.

As the magatama floated and collided, each impact made the statue emit a mysterious, terrifying aura. It was as though some unknown being was descending.

This was the Eclipse Society's sacred artifact: the Moon God statue!
