Return of the King, Dominating the City-Chapter 1632 - 1526: Diva
Just like that, after a few days, it was finally Chen Mengjie’s concert.
At this moment, Song Yun and the group of women happily drove to the Bird’s Nest in Yanjing.
The Bird’s Nest is a large venue that can hold tens of thousands of people. Although ticket checking hadn’t started yet, there was already a long line at the ticket gate. Even the VIP entrance had quite a few people.
"Wow, so many people!!" Song Yun sighed as he led the group of women out of the car and saw the crowd as dense as ants.
"Hmph, you can’t even imagine Chen Mengjie’s popularity." Li Yueyue looked at Song Yun smugly, "Come on, let’s get in line too."
Although there were quite a few people at the VIP entrance, it was still far fewer compared to the regular ticket entrance, which stretched out several hundred meters with no end in sight.
Song Yun looked at the ticket and said, "It says gate number five, where is it? This is gate number eight!"
"Oh yeah!! Isn’t VIP usually at gate number eight?" Li Shishi wondered aloud.
"Let’s search around then," said Song Yun as he walked to the side, finding an entrance with a large number 5 sign where no one was queued.
"Is this the gate number five?" Song Yun murmured, looking at two young women in short skirts standing at the entrance.
"Yes, this is gate number five," the young women in short skirts said in unison.
Song Yun quickly called over the women, "Look, this is gate number five, let’s go."
With that, the group proceeded through the entrance, and Song Yun proudly swiped the ticket at the sensor, glancing flirtatiously at the two young women around him with a confident gleam in his eyes, secretly smug, "See, folks? I’m VIP, high-class, not like those riffraff over there."
However, after waiting for a while, the sensor still didn’t respond. Song Yun hurriedly swiped the ticket back and forth several times, his actions utterly coquettish.
"Sir, you’ve got it the wrong way around..." one of the young women in skirts couldn’t help but say, gently reminding him.
Only then did Song Yun realize he had his ticket reversed, like intending a romantic moment with a beauty but ending up in the wrong spot, the feeling is worlds apart.
Song Yun awkwardly flipped the ticket over, then smoothly activated the sensor and walked through, with the beauties following behind. The young woman in skirts bent over quickly and said, "Welcome."
"Tsk tsk, this VIP premium ticket feeling is really different," Song Yun, just like a nouveau riche, wished he had a finger-thick gold necklace around his neck now, playing with it as he walked with flair.
"Look at you showing off," Li Shishi looked down on this country bumpkin with no city experience, and then the group followed the special passage directly to the first row of VIP seats and sat down according to seat numbers.
"These seats, really are quite nice," Song Yun leaned comfortably against the backrest, praising, "Almost as comfy as seats in first-class on an airplane."
"Okay, Brother Song Yun, stop acting like that. If people see us, they’ll think we look like country bumpkins." Li Yueyue couldn’t stand Song Yun’s behavior, reluctantly advised.
"Ha, we are bumpkins then." Song Yun smugly glanced to the side and saw a young man in sunglasses sitting to his left, the young man wearing a small hat.
"Damn, Shen Yan!!" Song Yun couldn’t resist swearing, "Why do you appear wherever I go?"
"Haha, Song Yun, it’s fate," Shen Yan smiled, took off the sunglasses, and threw a flirtatious wink at Song Yun, then greeted the group of women beside him.
"Fate my foot!! Tell me, did you install some GPS tracking system on me? Watching where I go and what I do every day," Song Yun said sharply.
"Haha, if I had the chance to install that on you, wouldn’t I wait till we do that thing someday?" Shen Yan replied flirtatiously.
"Go die, don’t talk so ambiguously. Hey, why are you here for this anyway?" Song Yun asked curiously.
"My dad told me to come. Anyway, I’m dealing with entertainment business now. More interaction with Chen Mengjie is beneficial. By the way, Song Yun, why were you so careless yesterday, even having your date photographed?" Shen Yan laughed suggestively, "Did anything happen afterward?"
"Think too much, it was just Chen Mengjie giving me a ticket, what else could happen? Nowadays, people love gossip," Song Yun shook his head helplessly.
Suddenly, the entire stadium’s lights went dark, and a spotlight hit the center of the stage.
Music started playing slowly, and Chen Mengjie appeared in a long white dress on the stage.
The concert began.
With Chen Mengjie’s appearance, multi-colored fireworks blasted magnificently from the stage, Chen Mengjie smiled and waved to the audience below and gently parted her lips. The melodious music accompanied the fans’ cheers, rising and falling.
"Wow? Singing is really something!" Song Yun couldn’t help nodding; although he sang well himself, this girl was better than him.
"Of course, she’s the Empress, not some newbie riffraff, nor one of those pseudo-empresses claiming the title by selling themselves after a few releases. She’s an authentic, globally recognized music queen," Li Yueyue praised from the side.
Song Yun wasn’t really interested in this stuff, considering songs and movies are things to enjoy in your leisure time; even singers and movie stars are merely regular folk with either a good voice or appearance. Song Yun didn’t understand why some superfans pursued their idols so blindly, like a certain actress who openly scorned the Shen Zhou Continent, saying fans lacked civility. Even so, countless people adored her and watched her films, wasn’t that degrading themselves?
Song Yun found no great interest in Chen Mengjie’s hopping around on stage; listening to the music sufficed, so he started playing on his phone. This caused resentment among many who couldn’t afford or buy VIP premium tickets. Damnit, occupying such good seats, not concentrating on the concert, but playing on a phone, is such a waste of tickets!
Chen Mengjie’s performance on stage was superb, innately and by-the-book. She didn’t need to act sexy or cute or anything; just standing there singing could make countless people scream.
