Chapter 376: Chapter 378 Intimidation [1/10]

Qin Zhengyang stared in shock at Dongfang Fengyun’s methods.

Dongfang Fengyun was pleased with the effect. "It seems you’ve now witnessed the power of Immortal Seekers," he said. "My son and I would like to come in for a visit."

He didn’t ask, "May we?" It was a direct declaration: We’re coming in. Immortal Seekers always regarded themselves as superior. It was a great achievement for mortals to live to a hundred, but for Immortal Seekers, living for several hundred years was a simple matter.

"Please," Qin Zhengyang said with a slight frown. Not wanting any trouble, he felt this was his only option.

After leading them into the villa’s living room and seeing them seated, he finally asked, "Immortal Seekers are clearly far more formidable than the people of the Jianghu, the sects, or the Five Surnames and Seven Families. But why have you come looking for me?"

Qin Zhengyang was retired and lived a leisurely life in his villa, occasionally hiking or fishing with a few friends. He was just an idle man, so why would such powerful Immortal Seekers come looking for him? He couldn’t understand it.

Dongfang Fengyun smiled. He had no intention of beating around the bush, even if the man before him might one day be family. Immortal Seekers possessed a deep-seated arrogance that was etched into their very bones. He chuckled and said, "I hear you have a daughter named Qin Yuhan. Is that correct?"

Qin Zhengyang was baffled. Whether I have a daughter or not is none of your business.

But the thought of his daughter brought a sweetness to his heart. She had given birth to an incredibly adorable child. Moreover, she had chosen Wu Tian as her husband. The young man had already achieved so much, and his future potential was boundless. Qin Zhengyang was truly delighted for her.

Just then, however, an unsettling thought flashed through his mind. He couldn’t be certain, though. He simply nodded and said, "Yes, I have a daughter, but she’s already married."

Like the nation’s leader before him, he was making it clear that Qin Yuhan was taken, hoping they would have the decency to drop the subject if they had any untoward ideas.

"Hahaha!" Dongfang Fengyun laughed, completely unconcerned. "So she’s married? But is her husband truly the most suitable man for her?"

Hearing Dongfang Fengyun’s tone, Qin Zhengyang’s heart sank. This is exactly the bad news I was afraid of.

Qin Zhengyang’s expression soured. "Wu Tian is an excellent man," he said. In his eyes, Wu Tian was already so impressive that no other young man could compare. He was completely satisfied to have Wu Tian as a son-in-law.

"Excellent? No, no, no." Dongfang Fengyun sighed and shook his head, then smiled. "First, take a look at my son. Tell me what you think of him."

Qin Zhengyang complied, taking a careful look at Dongfang Jiu, and was immediately displeased. I know a little about Medical Technique myself. I can tell at a glance that this man is deficient in vitality and kidney essence, and a lecherous light flickers in his eyes from time to time. One look is all it takes to know he’s bad news! But he held his tongue.

Dongfang Jiu frowned slightly, sensing that the older man did not see him as a worthy son-in-law.

Dongfang Fengyun continued, "When you judge a man, don’t look at his appearance. You must look at what’s inside—at his potential. My son practices the arts of Cultivation. If your daughter were with him, living for a few hundred years would be no problem at all. That is something Wu Tian can never give her."

Qin Zhengyang wanted to curse. What is wrong with this man? Where does he get this misplaced confidence in his good-for-nothing son? But as a former soldier, he understood the value of restraint. If I lose my temper with these two now, things probably won’t end well for me. I can only play along for the time being. He said, "This is a matter I must discuss with my daughter. Please, give me a few days."

When Dongfang Jiu nodded, Dongfang Fengyun scoffed at his son’s reaction and said coldly to Qin Zhengyang, "You might fool my son, but you can’t fool me."

Dongfang Fengyun immediately reached out and tapped Qin Zhengyang with a finger, instantly paralyzing him.

"What are you doing?" Qin Zhengyang shouted in a panic.

Ignoring him, Dongfang Fengyun turned to Dongfang Jiu. "You’ve heard his voice now, so you should be able to imitate it. Take his phone, call Qin Yuhan, and use his voice. Tell her something important has come up and that she should come here alone."

"Alright," Dongfang Jiu nodded. He found the phone in Qin Zhengyang’s pocket and, without bothering to unlock it, dialed the number.

At that moment, back at Wu Tian’s house, dinner had just ended. As Qin Yuhan was getting ready to wash the dishes with Murong Yezi, her phone rang.

Qin Yuhan answered. It was her father’s voice on the other end, telling her that something serious had come up and he needed to speak with her. He stressed that she should come alone without telling anyone else. Qin Yuhan agreed, promising she would go to the Qin family villa by herself.

After hanging up, Qin Yuhan gave Murong Yezi a brief explanation and then left. Before she walked out the door, she found herself turning to take one last, deep look at the home she had. She felt so happy to have a family like this. Her mother-in-law is so kind. Her daughter is so adorable. Her husband... well, he’s so-so, I guess! But he passes.

Murong Yezi asked if she should wait for Wu Tian to finish his shower so he could drive her, but Qin Yuhan refused. She said her father’s tone had sounded strange, and she was sure he wanted to discuss something he didn’t want anyone else to know about. Murong Yezi had no choice but to let it go.

It was a pity; if Wu Tian had come out of the bathroom then, he would have certainly noticed from the look on her face that something was wrong.

Worried, Qin Yuhan drove to her family’s villa herself, wondering what important matter her father needed to discuss with her.

She got out of the car and walked toward the villa, frowning when she saw the front door was ajar. Stepping inside, she saw her father with two strangers.

Qin Zhengyang’s face was a mask of anxiety. "Yuhan, run!" he shouted.

Qin Yuhan froze, instantly understanding that these two men were bad news. She turned to leave, to find Wu Tian.

But in a flash, Dongfang Fengyun and Dongfang Jiu were already in front of her, blocking her path.

A sense of dread washed over Qin Yuhan. "Who are you?" she demanded. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Before Dongfang Fengyun could speak, his useless son Dongfang Jiu eagerly stumbled through an introduction. "I... My name is Dongfang Jiu! I’m an Immortal Seeker from the Eastern Taizhong Palace. I... I like you, and I hope you’ll... you’ll marry me."

Qin Yuhan stared at him, dumbfounded. This has to be some kind of sick joke. I’m already married.

Dongfang Fengyun yanked Dongfang Jiu aside and said coldly, "I’ll call you Yuhan. I hope you can appreciate your own excellence. You are wasting yourself in the mortal world. The children you bear here will be merely ordinary. But if you were with my son, it would be different. A genius would be born. Do you understand?"

"Will you just get out?" Qin Yuhan snapped, her anger flaring.

At this, Dongfang Fengyun moved again, appearing instantly at Qin Zhengyang’s side. He wrapped his hand around the older man’s throat and asked her, "Now, will you agree?"
