Chapter 36: Chapter 36: The Little Divine Beast

This was the first time the Nine Dragon Ring had stirred since Wu Tian returned to the city. He handed the little one to Qin Yuhan and left the kitchen.

"What’s gotten into him?" Xia Yumeng wondered aloud.

"Who knows." Qin Yuhan shook her head, indicating she had no idea.

Wu Tian returned to his room and shut the door. He extended a finger, injecting his Spiritual Power into the Nine Dragon Ring. Finally, an egg emerged from the ring and appeared before him.

CRACK.

The eggshell split open.

"AWOOF..."

A sound like a puppy’s bark echoed out, but it was far more robust and powerful, a sound in a league of its own. A small creature crawled out of the egg. It was tiny yet agile, and it dashed toward Wu Tian the moment it emerged.

Wu Tian remained calm, standing perfectly still.

The small creature leaped onto his shoulder, then extended its tongue and affectionately licked his neck.

Wu Tian saw that it was about the size of a pet bulldog. At a casual glance, one might mistake it for one. Upon closer inspection, however, one would notice its head resembled that of a lion. A small bump on its forehead hinted at horns, and its eyes, unlike a dog’s, were more like those of a tiger.

Wu Tian recognized it at once. It was a Little Kirin.

Unfortunately, it had yet to mature, so the abilities of the Qilin Clan were not yet apparent. Its current combat strength was only on par with that of a Tibetan Mastiff.

"AWOOF..." Seeing that Wu Tian was ignoring it, the Little Kirin looked aggrieved and began to nuzzle affectionately against his neck.

Wu Tian snapped back to his senses.

"You have to be obedient, understand?" he said.

The Little Kirin widened its eyes and nodded, seeming to understand.

"Get down," Wu Tian instructed.

The Little Kirin immediately hopped down from Wu Tian’s shoulder, landing in front of him.

"Raise your paw," Wu Tian commanded.

The Little Kirin nodded and lifted its left paw. It then fixed its big eyes on Wu Tian, as if seeking praise.

"Hm, well done," Wu Tian nodded.

Delighted, the Little Kirin began to roll around on the ground like a ball.

The Nine Dragon Ring was a relic left behind by a legendary figure from the Immortal Emperor Realm known as the Creation Martial Emperor. Wu Tian had no idea how many eggs were inside the ring, but there was no doubt that each one hatched into a one-of-a-kind Divine Beast.

Just as Wu Tian was pondering how to handle the Little Kirin, the little one began shouting from outside the room in a muffled, urgent voice, "Climby! Climby!"

Her voice was frantic. It seemed not seeing Wu Tian had frightened her, making her fear that the Climby she had just found had disappeared again.

"I’m coming, I’m coming! I’m right here!" Hearing the fear in the little one’s voice, Wu Tian forgot all about the Little Kirin. He opened the door and walked toward the living room.

"Climby, hug!"

Growing discontented, the little one was wriggling in Qin Yuhan’s arms. Seeing Wu Tian, she stretched out her hands, demanding a hug and threatening to cry if he didn’t comply.

"Alright, come here, let’s hug." Wu Tian smiled, took the little one from Qin Yuhan’s embrace, and lifted her high into the air several times until she started to giggle again.

Meanwhile, Qin Yuhan looked completely baffled. Does my daughter really not love her mommy anymore?

She had no idea what her daughter was thinking. I can hug Mommy any day. If I don’t hold on to Climby now, what if he disappears again?

"Did you like the rice porridge Climby made earlier?" Wu Tian asked.

But the little one ignored him. Her adorable, black pearl-like eyes were fixated on Wu Tian’s room, as if she sensed something inside.

After a moment, she suddenly exclaimed, "Ooh, what a cute doggy!"

Curious about this new world, the Little Kirin had wandered to the doorway and cautiously poked its tiny head out, only to be spotted by the little one in Wu Tian’s arms.

"Put me down, put me down!" The little one no longer wanted to be held. She wriggled her tiny bottom, struggling to get free.

Wu Tian helplessly set her down.

"Looks like I’ve been abandoned too," he said with a glum expression.

Seeing this, Qin Yuhan couldn’t help but want to laugh. It made her feel a lot better.

"Doggy, doggy..." After practicing the Empress Dominance Scripture, the little one’s crawling speed had increased dramatically. She quickly scuttled toward the Little Kirin, her big eyes shining as if she wanted to eat it.

"..."

The Little Kirin, just born and curious about the world, was startled when it saw the little one crawling toward it with such a "desirous" look.

Oh no, a monster!

Frightened, the Little Kirin also started to crawl, trying to get away from the little one.

But the little one had inherited Wu Tian’s never-give-up spirit. Seeing the little doggy trying to flee, she crawled with all her might in pursuit.

That’s my daughter, alright. So young and already chasing a Kirin, Wu Tian thought, amused. But the Little Kirin was a Divine Beast, after all; its hide was so thick that ordinary weapons couldn’t even scratch it. His daughter, however, was a different story. What if she scraped her skin crawling on the floor?

At that, Wu Tian spoke up, "She’s your older sister. Let her give you a hug."

Hearing this, the Little Kirin stopped moving. In that instant, the little one threw her arms around it, and they rolled on the floor together.

"Little doggy, you’re so cute!"

The Little Kirin felt a pang of gloom. Am I a dog?

The little one pinched the Little Kirin’s face a few times before asking Wu Tian, "Climby, what’s its name?"

"This..." Wu Tian chuckled. "For a nickname, let’s call it Wang Wang for now."

"Wang Wang, hello! I’m Gugu," the little one greeted the Little Kirin excitedly.

"Where did this puppy come from?" These days, many dogs were bred to have all sorts of unique appearances, so Qin Yuhan had no suspicions about this one’s looks. However, like Qin Zhengyang and Xia Yumeng, she was puzzled as to when Wu Tian had brought a dog into the house.

Wu Tian didn’t know how to explain, so he simply remained silent.

Seeing this, Qin Zhengyang laughed. "It’s just a pet dog. Besides, look how much our little treasure likes it. Isn’t this great?"

Qin Yuhan nodded. As long as her baby was happy, she had no problem with it.

Xia Yumeng also smiled. "Actually, I like pets, too."

And so, the Little Kirin, Wang Wang, settled into the villa. Gugu finally had a companion and refused to go with Wu Tian to Qin Corporation, wanting to stay home and play with Wang Wang instead. Qin Zhengyang naturally stayed behind to look after the little one.

Xia Yumeng, who still had to go to school, left first.

"Daughter, aren’t you driving? Give Wu Tian a ride," Qin Zhengyang said as he saw Qin Yuhan about to leave.

"Alright," Qin Yuhan nodded.

Qin Zhengyang smiled and gave Wu Tian a look that said, Son-in-law, this is as much as I can help you.

Wu Tian couldn’t help but smile back. This father-in-law is amusing.

He then followed Qin Yuhan to the garage, where even the cheapest cars were BMWs and Mercedes. Qin Yuhan chose a red Maserati and drove Wu Tian to work.

She didn’t speak a single word the entire way, much to Wu Tian’s boredom. As they neared the corporation, Qin Yuhan dropped him off first before driving to the company parking lot. The two of them acted as if they didn’t know each other.

Interestingly, just as Wu Tian entered Qin Corporation, he ran into Chen Cheng and his friends. They were surprised to see Wu Tian completely unscathed. "Weren’t you beaten up last night?"

Coincidentally, A’gou was leading a group of people toward Qin Corporation, intending to deliver gifts to Wu Tian.

"You must have run away last night," Chen Cheng said, annoyed. Noticing the arrival of A’gou and his men, he immediately shouted, "Hey! The guy you want to beat up is over here!"
