Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 153: The Wudang Sect Leader is Here
Huang Ying stamped her foot in frustration, unable to believe she was shorter than this little girl. She felt the urge to hit someone. After all, she was from the Huang Family; even without mastering their secret techniques, she was far more formidable than a typical child. Back in kindergarten, she had even beaten up adults and teachers.
"Stop it," Huang Xuantian shouted at Huang Ying, his expression darkening slightly. With so many people around, if she were to beat up a child, where would he, a man of supposed upright character, hide his face?
Huang Ying snorted and held back.
As Huang Ming passed the little girl, he said, "You should go find an adult, especially your father. Bring him here. He thinks he’s so great, but once he sees my master’s skill, he’ll realize there’s always someone stronger, and there are heavens beyond the heavens."
After speaking, Huang Ming followed Huang Xuantian to the center of the crowd, who consciously made way for them.
"That little girl, do you know her?" Huang Xuantian whispered.
"She’s the daughter of that insufferably arrogant man I told you about—the one who beat me," Huang Ming replied grimly.
Huang Xuantian simply nodded, unconcerned. To him, a mere little girl was not worthy of his attention.
Huang Ming will certainly surpass that man in the future, and this little girl is no match for Huang Ying. This is just like the difference between nobility and commoners in ancient times. Huang Xuantian thought, shaking his head slightly. There are far too many people in this city who overestimate their own abilities.
Huang Ming stood loyally behind Huang Xuantian in the cleared space. Meanwhile, Huang Ying and the other Huang Family members were among the spectators, standing near the little girl. Seeing that the Family Head was preoccupied, Huang Ying leaned in and whispered aggressively to her, "If the Family Head hadn’t been here, I’d have beaten you already."
"You can’t beat me, shorty," the little girl retorted, sticking out her small tongue.
What?
Huang Ying chuckled coldly. The other members of the Huang Family were also displeased.
"Do you think you’re so impressive?"
"Do you have any idea how formidable Huang Ying is?"
"Our Huang Family is not someone you can afford to offend!"
One by one, the Huang Family members began to lecture the child. In truth, the Huang Family itself wasn’t particularly powerful; their strength came from Huang Xuantian. He alone was equivalent to an entire Jianghu sect, like Wudang.
"Are you sure your Huang Family is that powerful?"
Zhang Jifeng had just arrived with the Wudang disciples. Dressed in their distinctive Taoist robes, the Huang Family members immediately recognized them.
"Esteemed Taoists of the Wudang Sect, what is the meaning of this?" the Huang Family elders asked, somewhat startled. They couldn’t afford to disrespect Wudang. Although their family had Huang Feihong, his fame paled in comparison to the legendary Zhang Sanfeng.
"Because she is our Sect Leader," Zhang Jifeng declared.
What?
Upon hearing this, the Huang Family members were dumbfounded.
"Are you telling the truth?"
"How is that possible?"
They looked at each other in disbelief. The rest of the crowd who overheard was just as stunned.
The little girl laughed. "Really? Is it really true?" she asked, her excitement palpable.
"Yes," Zhang Jifeng said with utmost seriousness, and all the Wudang disciples wore solemn expressions.
The entire venue fell silent.
"How could something like this happen?"
"Yeah, how could this child be the Sect Leader of Wudang?"
Feeling wronged, Huang Ying burst into tears and buried her face in the arms of a family elder. "Why does she get to be the Sect Leader? I want to be one too! I want to be one too!"
Huang Ying was the youngest of her generation, and the family elders doted on her, trying their best to satisfy her every whim. This request, however, was far too difficult. How could a major Jianghu sect possibly accept her as their Sect Leader? The Huang Family stared at Zhang Jifeng and the Wudang contingent, utterly baffled as to why they would acknowledge this child.
In the center of the clearing, Huang Ming was also shocked. Only Huang Xuantian remained composed. "Although I do not know why Wudang made this decision," he said calmly, "Wudang is destined for decline."
Huang Ming nodded in agreement. Wudang’s previous Sect Leader had been one of the Seven Saints of Dragon Country, but the current generation had no such figure. And now, a little girl was the Sect Leader? Wudang was surely on a path to ruin. If Wudang had made him Sect Leader, Huang Ming thought, they would at least have a chance to rise again.
The news that the little girl was Wudang’s Sect Leader sent a buzz through the crowd. Xiao Tianzan had now arrived. Huang Xuantian looked over at him and frowned slightly. The Admiral of the Nine Gates had come alone, without any experts by his side.
"Where are the people you brought?" Huang Xuantian asked. However, his voice was drowned out by the din of the crowd, who were all still discussing how Wudang could possibly make a little girl their Sect Leader.
Huang Xuantian’s anger flared.
「In the New Holy Land」
Wu Tian observed Huang Xuantian with his Spiritual Sense and shook his head slightly. In the mortal world, he’s considered quite decent.
「Outside the New Holy Land」
Huang Xuantian clenched his fists. His nickname was Spirit of Qi. At that moment, his Inner Strength transformed into Qigong, which began to surge and swirl around his body. Suddenly, those who noticed him gasped in shock.
"Qi! You can see it coiling around his body with the naked eye!"
"Yes, I’ve never heard of such powerful Qigong!"
Huang Xuantian scoffed. The sound boomed like a clap of thunder, seeming to split the very heavens and causing everyone’s eardrums to ache.
Everyone fell silent.
Too terrifying. The thought flashed through every mind in the crowd.
"I wonder if the expert Xiao Tianzan brought will be a match for Huang Xuantian."
"I think it’s impossible!"
"Right, no way."
"The Seven Saints of Dragon Country are sworn brothers. They would never fight one of their own."
"That means unless Xiao Tianzan hired an expert from abroad, no one in the country can defeat Huang Xuantian."
"Don’t call him Huang Xuantian! It’s Lord Spirit of Qi, you understand?"
With his hands clasped behind his back, Huang Xuantian surveyed the terrified crowd. "Another word," he said indifferently, "and you die!"
The faces of the onlookers paled, and no one dared to speak.
In Huang Xuantian’s eyes, no one else seemed to exist, nor did they deserve to. His gaze was fixed solely on Xiao Tianzan. He spoke calmly, "You said you would invite an expert to fight me. If your champion is defeated, you will hand over seven billion to me. Now, bring that person out."
"However, I will say this first: to raise a hand against one of the Seven Saints of Dragon Country is a grave offense. The Saints are inviolable. Those who insult them will be put to death!
"Therefore, the outcome of life or death will be their own responsibility."
Xiao Tianzan nodded.
Seeing that Xiao Tianzan’s face showed no trace of panic or fear, but was instead perfectly calm, Huang Ming whispered to Huang Xuantian, "It seems this Admiral of the Nine Gates doesn’t have much of a bond with his chosen champion."
Huang Xuantian nodded, thinking the same.
"He has already arrived," Xiao Tianzan said, ignoring their speculations.
Arrived? Where?
Huang Xuantian’s gaze swept across the surroundings, searching for any sign of a hidden master.
