Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 129 Doubting Life
Finding Wu Tian’s whereabouts was all too easy for Lu Yunsheng. After all, almost everyone in Yang City knew of Wu Tian.
"Is this kid’s reputation really that great?" Wuyunzi asked from inside the Mercedes-Benz S-Class AMG, looking at Lu Yunsheng who was driving.
"Heh, the guy only has some talent in business. Some people in Yang City have started calling us the ’Twin Stars’ of the younger generation," Lu Yunsheng said coldly.
"In that case, he must be quite remarkable," Wuyunzi commented, glancing at the back seat where the still-unconscious Guli Weileng lay. He knew Guli Weileng seemed to have taken a liking to that Wu Tian.
Lu Yunsheng grew displeased, detecting a hint of praise for Wu Tian in his Uncle-Master’s words. "Of all trades, the Martial Path is the most revered. The people of Yang City are so ignorant to even compare me with him. It’s ridiculous, absolutely laughable."
When they arrived at Wu Tian’s house and got out of the car, Wuyunzi frowned. "Yunsheng, isn’t this a bit underhanded?"
"Uncle-Master, just think about it! If our Wudang obtained that Secret Scroll, we could rise again! You know that Wudang once stood as a titan of the martial world, as prominent as Mount Tai and the Big Dipper. Don’t you want Wudang to regain its former glory?"
"This..." Wuyunzi paused, then gritted his teeth. "Alright. For the sake of Wudang, I suppose this is the only way."
They didn’t bother with courtesies and walked straight into the courtyard of Wu Tian’s house, only to see a cute little girl squatting there, building a snowman.
It was Gugu.
After lunch, she couldn’t wait to run out alone and start her project.
Noticing their arrival, she looked at the two men who had suddenly appeared. She seemed a bit unhappy; her intuition told her that they hadn’t come with good intentions. She pouted and huffed, "You two should leave now, or I’ll hit you."
She continued to build her snowman as she spoke. In her eyes, Wuyunzi and Lu Yunsheng were far less important than her creation.
Lu Yunsheng approached with a gentle expression, like a big brother from next door. "Little sister, what is your relationship with Wu Tian?" His voice was gentler than anyone else’s. Most children would probably like a big brother like Lu Yunsheng.
"That’s not who you really are, is it?" But to Lu Yunsheng’s surprise, the little one suddenly shook her head, furrowed her brow, and said, "I hate it when people pretend in front of me, especially people like you."
"Are you saying I’m pretending?" Lu Yunsheng never expected a little girl to speak to him like this. He insisted, "This is just how I am."
"Yes, that’s right," Wuyunzi added as he stepped forward. "He is Lu Yunsheng. He might be a bit irritable at times, but he is usually a perfect gentleman."
"Have you ever been to the hospital?" the little one suddenly asked, looking up at Wuyunzi with concern. "Sir, I think you should go." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Why’s that?" Wuyunzi couldn’t help but ask.
"To see an eye doctor," the little girl said seriously, as if Wuyunzi’s eyes really did have a problem.
Wuyunzi snorted. Lu Yunsheng frowned, his displeasure showing. "Little girl, it’s not right for you to talk to us like this."
"Why not?" The little one went back to fussing over her snowman, giving it a carrot for a mustache and other touches. Of course, her mother had taught her to be polite to her elders, but the little one was sure these two were not good people and were here with ill intentions.
Wuyunzi fell silent. He knew he was here to abduct Wu Tian, so he truly lacked the moral high ground of an elder.
Lu Yunsheng, however, just snorted. "You may be young, but there are some lessons that I feel I must teach you if your family hasn’t."
The little one completely ignored him. She wrapped a scarf around her snowman, and the large figure now looked so much like a person that it made her giggle.
This made Lu Yunsheng furious. He said coldly, "Kid, do you know what it means to be strong or weak? You’re still young, but I feel it’s necessary for you to know the true nature of this world. In this world, the strong are revered. The weak are supposed to fear the strong and see them as gods. And we," he declared, "are the strong ones."
The little one hadn’t expected him to say something like that. Although young, she understood his words. She thought for a moment, her wide, adorable eyes filled with seriousness. "I think... I might be one of the strong ones."
Inside the house, Wu Tian was reviewing some documents, but nothing happening outside could escape his notice. A small smile touched his lips. Then, with a flick of his finger, the space outside warped subtly.
「...」
"Child, if you don’t understand something, don’t talk nonsense," Lu Yunsheng said, growing even more displeased that the little one was also using the word "strong." "Do you even know what it means to be strong?"
"Hey, are you all talk?" the little one asked, clearly annoyed. She stood up, clenched her small, fleshy fists, and huffed, "If you’re so tough, let’s fight."
"Heh, alright, kid. I’ll play along with you," Lu Yunsheng said.
"She’s just a child," Wuyunzi reminded him.
"Don’t worry, I’ll go easy on her," Lu Yunsheng said with a gentle smile. In his heart, however, he had no such intention.
His eyes flashed with ferocity as he clenched his fists tightly. "Child, I’ll show you what it means to be strong."
Instantly, he executed a Tai Chi technique. Inner Strength surged through his meridians as waves of power spread throughout his body. With a single step, he appeared before the little one and slammed his palm down heavily toward her.
Faced with Lu Yunsheng’s fierce palm strike, the little one surprisingly showed no intention of dodging.
Witnessing this, Wuyunzi couldn’t help but shake his head, certain the child was about to suffer. Letting this kid learn a lesson might be for the best. It could stop her from offending someone she can’t afford to in the future. With that justification, he did not intervene to stop Lu Yunsheng’s ferocious attack.
The palm strike reached the little one’s chest in the blink of an eye. Just as it was about to land, she finally moved.
In her eyes, this Lu Yunsheng was indeed not bad. Unfortunately, he wasn’t as formidable as she was. After all, Wu Tian hadn’t taught her Inner Strength, but Spiritual Power.
The little one raised her right fist and met Lu Yunsheng’s palm strike head-on.
BANG!
Palm met fist. The devastating outcome Wuyunzi had expected never came. Instead, his eyes widened in astonishment at the unbelievable scene before him. Upon impact, the little one’s body remained completely unmoved.
How can this be? Wuyunzi found it incredible.
But the person who was even more shocked was Lu Yunsheng himself. He had used his full strength, yet the little one’s tiny fist felt like a wall of iron that he couldn’t break through.
At that moment, Lu Yunsheng began to question his entire existence. Could it be? Me, the number one talent of Wudang, a prodigy acclaimed to be on par with Zhang Sanfeng... I can’t even defeat a child?
