Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 105 Pokes a Hole in the Sky
Lin Fa chuckled. He didn’t know how to respond to Bing Hong’s mockery, so he could only ignore it.
However, Wu Tian was displeased to see Bing Hong making such a scene in Qin Yuhan’s company.
Who gave Bing Hong this job? It was Qin Yuhan! Yet, she shows no gratitude and is still stirring up trouble internally?
With this thought, Wu Tian strode toward Bing Hong. "Director of Logistics, it seems you have something to say to me..."
Before Bing Hong could finish her sentence, Wu Tian slapped her across the face.
SMACK!
She was sent flying. Wu Tian sneered, "Someone like you had better stay out of my sight. Otherwise, I’ll slap you every time I see you." Bing Hong’s face was already swelling from the blow. She sobbed but didn’t dare say a word. She was a typical bully who preyed on the weak and feared the strong.
「...」
From behind a large pillar, Director Ren Zhong pointed Wu Tian out to his son, Ren Hou. "See that? He’s the man Qin Yuhan values. Their relationship is somewhat ambiguous, and he’s also your rival."
Ren Hou, a nerdy-looking young man with glasses, nodded and said, "I understand, Father."
"Are you confident?" Ren Zhong asked.
"Don’t worry, Father," Ren Hou replied. "He’s just a brute, while I am not. I’m better than him in every respect."
Ren Zhong nodded and led Ren Hou forward. He swept his gaze over the crowd and smiled, "I didn’t expect to see everyone here. That’s great. I have an announcement to make."
Everyone grew attentive, wondering what the director was about to do. This director had caused plenty of trouble in the past, offering no real help to Qin Corporation. For instance, he once set a rule requiring everyone to start work at six in the morning and finish at eleven at night, claiming it would improve efficiency. The result was that everyone became exhausted and productivity plummeted. Thankfully, Qin Yuhan stepped in to set things right. There had been several other incidents just like it.
"I’d like to introduce everyone to our new Head of the Planning Department," Ren Zhong proudly introduced his son. "This is Ren Hou, a graduate of Cambridge University in Arthur Country. He is also my son, and I think you all know how outstanding he is. Not just anyone can get into Cambridge. I believe my son will become the most outstanding person in this company. But the CEO doesn’t seem to agree. The CEO thinks my son is inferior to someone else."
This statement took many people by surprise. Was there another hidden talent among them?
Ren Zhong shot a scornful glance at Wu Tian in the crowd and said, "Everyone makes mistakes. Yuhan is formidable, but even she can be wrong sometimes."
The crowd, noticing Ren Zhong had glanced at Wu Tian, all turned to look at him. Some of the male colleagues commented objectively.
"Is Wu Tian that impressive?"
"I think he is."
"I agree. He got arrested by the police and was released just like that."
"And he’s been great at solving other problems."
Meanwhile, Bing Hong and a few others simply sneered. While some thought Wu Tian was impressive, others felt he couldn’t possibly be more talented than a Cambridge graduate like Ren Hou.
Ren Zhong was furious when he saw this. He had expected everyone to doubt Wu Tian. But now? Half the people were on Wu Tian’s side.
How could this be?
"Son, don’t lose heart," Ren Zhong whispered, trying to comfort Ren Hou.
Ren Hou certainly felt aggrieved. Since childhood, he had been waited on hand and foot; he had even brought several nannies with him to Cambridge University. Everyone around him had always praised him. The only people who ever spoke ill of him were those whose own servants were more capable than he himself was. He never expected that when his father compared him to someone from an unknown domestic university, some people would actually think that he, a Cambridge graduate, was inferior.
Are these people illiterate? How could they not know the prestige of Cambridge? For someone to be my equal, they should have graduated from Harvard or Stanford, or at the very least, MIT!
Afterward, everyone dispersed and returned to their posts. Ren Zhong was secretly delighted. He recalled the bet he’d made with Qin Yuhan: if Wu Tian proved to be inferior to his son, she would have to have dinner with Ren Hou. When the time comes, I’ll slip some drugs into her drink... Hehehe...
Back in the logistics department, Wu Tian gave the father-son duo no thought at all.
First of all, he could read faces and determine fates. He could see a latent disease hidden within Ren Zhong’s body, one that would flare up in a few days and kill him instantly. As for Ren Hou? A Cambridge graduate? To Wu Tian, he was just a bookish fool with drooping eyebrows, lifeless eyes, and shallow breathing—a man plagued by incessant bad luck. In this life, forget competing with Wu Tian. Once his father, Ren Zhong, was dead, Ren Hou would lose to anyone and everyone. His fortunes were set to plummet in a few days, after which he would be reduced to a beggar. Having been fed with a silver spoon his whole life, he had never learned to work for himself. Even as a beggar, he would be too proud to beg, simply waiting for people to give him money. In the end, his fate was to starve to death on the street.
The workday finally ended. As Wu Tian stepped out of the logistics department, he saw Qin Yuhan.
"No one’s looking," she said quietly. "Let’s go home. Tonight is the baby’s lunar birthday."
At her words, Wu Tian’s eyes lit up. They slipped away from the others and drove off, leaving the Qin Corporation building behind them.
In the car, Wu Tian laughed. "This feels like we’re having an affair."
Qin Yuhan’s face reddened. "Can’t you choose your words more carefully?"
"My fault for the poor choice of words?" Wu Tian laughed. "Fine, then you tell me. What would you call this?"
"That..." Qin Yuhan found herself at a loss for words.
"Your language skills must have come from a PE teacher," Wu Tian teased.
Qin Yuhan harrumphed. Seeing Wu Tian so relaxed, she spoke seriously, "Did Ren Zhong and Ren Hou provoke you today?" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"Not really. It was just a show of force," Wu Tian chuckled. "They’re truly clueless about their own impending doom."
"Such big talk," Qin Yuhan said disbelievingly. "Do you really think Ren Hou, the Cambridge graduate, is no match for you?"
"It’s not a matter of him being no match for me."
Hearing this, Qin Yuhan breathed a sigh of relief. Good, he’s not being conceited.
But then Wu Tian’s tone shifted. "He simply isn’t qualified to be compared to me at all."
"Now you’re just boasting," Qin Yuhan said. "You’d better not teach the baby to be like that."
"I don’t think I need to teach her; our baby has already mastered it," Wu Tian replied, thinking of his little girl, who was a bundle of joy and a headache all in one. I’m going to have my hands full with her in the future. But then again... so what? Even if my daughter poked a hole in the sky, I would patch it up for her!
