A careless smile tugged at Annabelle Lintonโs lips. ๐ง๐โฏ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฐ๐ท๐ฆ๐ญ.๐ธโด๐
โIn my last life, I died two years from now. By then, Ryan was already twenty.โ
โBut where was this so-called father of theirs?โ
โDid he give Ryan all his money?!โ
โNo, not a single cent!โ
โAnd to think she and her brother had waited so foolishly while that couple was living it up abroad!โ
Annabelle Linton let out a low laugh. "Is that so?"
"Yes," William Chapman answered firmly.
"Alright then..." Annabelle Lintonโs lips curled as she looked at him, holding out her hand. "Since itโs Ryanโs money, itโs my money too.
Iโm the person heโs closest to in the entire world. Itโs his money either way, so you can just hand it over to me. Iโll keep it safe for him. Any problem with that?"
Annabelle Linton finished and looked at Ryan Linton. "Ryan, do you have any objections?"
Ryan Lintonโs expression was calm. "Whatโs mine is yours. I have no objections."
A small smile played on Annabelle Lintonโs lips as she looked at William Chapman.
William Chapmanโs expression instantly turned ugly.
Yvonne Miller rushed in front of Annabelle Linton and cut in, "How can you be so heartless? Hasnโt your father done enough for this family over the years?
Everything Ryan eats, uses, and wearsโwasnโt it all earned through your fatherโs hard work? What do you mean youโre the person heโs closest to in the world? What about his father?
What does that make your father? He raised you two, and heโs managing this money for your own good! Why are you both so ungrateful?!"
"Shut up!" Ryan Linton glared coldly at Yvonne Miller. "Does this have anything to do with you?"
"You...! Williamโ" Yvonne Miller looked at William Chapman, her voice full of grievance.
William Chapmanโs face darkened further. He frowned and said, "Is that any way to talk to your mother? Sheโs your elder. Canโt you speak respectfully?"
"Exactly. I was just trying to talk some sense into him, and heโs always so disrespectful. I feel like I have no dignity at all..." Yvonne Miller began to cry as she spoke.
Annabelle Linton gave her an indifferent glance and scoffed. "If you feel you have no dignity, then go die. No oneโs stopping you."
"Annabelle Linton!" William Chapmanโs face was as black as thunder.
Annabelle Linton shot him a cold look, her lips twitching. "Letโs cut to the chase. Are you going to hand over Ryanโs money or not?"
William Chapman stared at Annabelle Linton sullenly, saying nothing.
His foul expression made his refusal clear.
As if she had expected this all along, Annabelle Linton slowly rose and walked to the stage. She sat in the central chair, lazily propping her head on her hand, and said lightly, "It doesnโt matter if you wonโt give it to us. The money was ours to begin with. You donโt have the right to control it."
William Chapman and Yvonne Miller exchanged a look, and as if the same thought struck them simultaneously, their faces went pale.
William Chapman forced himself to remain calm. "What do you mean by that?
Iโm the companyโs legal representative. I was the one who signed the acquisition contract with Norwing Company. How could the rights not be mine?!"
"Does signing the contract mean you call the shots?" A languid voice seemed to descend from on high. "President Chapman, youโre hilarious."
The nonchalant voice was like a time bomb tossed into the room, and the crowd instantly erupted.
"Who is that?"
"Itโs the president of Norwing Group, Chase Lynch!"
"Really? Now weโve got a real show to watch!"
