Chapter 133: Chapter 133: The Struggle for the Linton Group Acquisition 3

At the thought, a sardonic smile silently curled on Annabelle Linton’s lips.

’So, he’s been scheming against me for all these years.’

’Fine.’

’At least I don’t have to hold back anymore.’

"The situation is this: due to poor market performance this year, the Linton Group incurred a massive financial deficit. That deficit has now been covered.

The Linton Group is, as of today, officially acquired by the Norwing Group. From now on, the Linton Group and the Norwing Group are one family. There is no longer a distinction between the two, and I hope everyone is clear on that."

"So it was acquired by the Norwing Group?"

"Norwing Group? Is that the one whose parent company is in Albion? The branch they set up in Lynton a few months back?"

"Yes, yes, that’s the one! The Norwing Group where Chase Lynch is the president of both the parent company and the branch. I hear President Lynch is young, but he’s already on par with any of the major business tycoons. A truly exceptional talent."

The focus was supposed to be the Linton Group’s acquisition, yet everyone was busy singing Chase Lynch’s praises.

People were so predictable—always ready to see which way the wind was blowing, to flatter and fawn over the powerful.

"Hold on."

Annabelle set down her champagne flute. Her expression was cold, and her voice, though neither loud nor soft, carried clearly to those around her.

She stared unblinkingly at William Chapman on the stage, her face an expressionless mask.

The moment she spoke, everyone in the hall turned in unison to look at Annabelle Linton.

Was the show about to begin?

Her high heels clicked against the floor with controlled elegance as Annabelle Linton walked forward, her pace unhurried and her steps perfectly steady.

Perhaps it was due to the power of her presence, but the entire hall fell silent. Guests in her path instinctively moved aside, creating a path for her as they watched Annabelle Linton walk, step by step, to the foot of the stage.

William Chapman knew Annabelle Linton would come forward.

He had watched her grow up. Though he’d always seen her as a pliant girl, he knew she also had a stubborn, resilient side.

So, he wasn’t surprised in the least to see her come forward now.

William Chapman looked at Annabelle, his expression a mixture of sorrow and regret. "Annabelle, I’ve disappointed you, haven’t I? I’m sorry. I couldn’t protect the last thing your grandfather and mother left behind. I failed to give you a stable home.

"But I will build a new Linton Group in the future. We’ll make a comeback. Believe in your father, alright?"

Annabelle looked at him, her face impassive, showing no trace of emotion. "The Linton Group was operating just fine. Why was it acquired?

"The Linton Group is the last thing Grandfather left to me and Ryan. Why were we the last ones to find out it was sold?"

William Chapman said, his voice full of self-reproach, "Annabelle, the truth is, the Linton Group’s financial troubles aren’t a recent development. The company has been facing all sorts of problems since last year. We simply couldn’t hold on any longer.

"I chose not to tell you because I didn’t want to upset you. I’m so sorry, Annabelle. It’s my fault for being so useless. Please, can you forgive me?"

"Then what about the money from the acquisition?" Annabelle remained completely unmoved by his performance. "The Linton Group is a huge enterprise. The price must have been substantial. Don’t tell me it all went to cover the deficit?"

William Chapman was visibly startled by Annabelle’s composure, but he quickly recovered. "No, not all of it. Of course, the entire sum wasn’t used for that. There’s a little left over, but not much.

"But that money is being set aside for Ryan. I intend to give it to him when he turns twenty. That money belongs to Ryan, and no one can take it from him."

’No one can take it?’

A corner of Annabelle Linton’s mouth twitched into a careless smile.
