Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 84 What Kind of Person is Xue Yang?
"Young Miss... Xiao Xi, you’re still young. You shouldn’t be focused on romance. You have the college entrance exam next year, and you’ve already missed half a semester of classes..." Auntie Shen’s voice was filled with concern. "The chairman once said that if you don’t perform well on your exam, you will have to obey his arrangements completely."
"You say that as if my dad would stop arranging my life just because my grades were good. Have I ever lived a single day for myself since I was a child?"
"Xiao Xi, no matter what, for a man to know you ran away from home and still let you stay with him this long—no matter how well he seems to treat you, there’s a limit to his moral character."
"Auntie Shen, you’re wrong. Xue Yang never kept me here. From the beginning, he wanted to call the police and send me home. It was me who threatened him, telling him I’d run off again if he called the police, and that’s why he didn’t do it. Just a few days ago, we agreed that I would go home on New Year’s Day. He’s actually been trying to persuade me to go home this whole time; I’m the one who doesn’t want to go back. Auntie Shen, I’m not a child anymore. I can make my own judgments."
"Xiao Xi, be honest with Auntie Shen. Did you start to like Xue Yang only because you ran away, had no one to rely on, and he just happened to appear and give you a place of refuge?"
If that were the case, things would be much simpler. Once the Young Miss returned home, she would realize that home is still the best place to be. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"That’s not it. I like him just because I like him. Does liking someone need a reason? If I had to give one, it’s that I’m very happy when I’m with him. Isn’t being happy the most important thing in life?"
Auntie Shen looked at Lin Xi, whose face was filled with a blissful smile, and had to admit that she truly did look very happy.
"Xiao Xi, let me ask you one more question."
"Go ahead."
"Have you and Xue Yang already..."
Lin Xi asked, slightly puzzled, "Already what?"
"I mean, have you two already taken the final step?"
The Young Miss is so beautiful, and she was alone with a young man... It was hard for Auntie Shen to believe that they hadn’t taken that final step.
"No, we haven’t."
Auntie Shen’s eyes widened in shock. "You haven’t?"
Lin Xi’s pretty face blushed. "Auntie Shen, what kind of person do you take Xue Yang for? How could he possibly take advantage of someone in a vulnerable situation?"
"Young Miss, that’s not what I meant."
"Xue Yang said I’m still young. He said we have to wait until I go home and introduce him to my family before we can be officially together. He also told me to study hard and get into Yanbei University. He said he would wait for me."
Only then did Auntie Shen notice that besides Lin Xi’s personal belongings, the master bedroom was filled with third-year high school books. There was also a tall stack of completed test papers next to them.
She picked up a stack and looked through them. They were all perfect, with no signs of erasure or correction. Auntie Shen, of course, recognized Lin Xi’s handwriting.
"Xiao Xi, did you do all these papers yourself?"
"Yes. Every day when Xue Yang goes to school, I stay home to study and do practice tests. On weekends, he even takes me out for a walk. I’ve only been working the last two days because I’m about to go home and it’s Christmas. I wanted to earn some money to buy him a present. Look, this is the gift Xue Yang gave me."
Lin Xi happily showed Auntie Shen her bracelet.
"The other half is a key, and Xue Yang has it."
Lin Xi genuinely considered Auntie Shen one of her own people, so she told her everything. Hearing all this, Auntie Shen became genuinely curious about the boy named Xue Yang and found herself looking forward to meeting him.

Today, Xue Yang had left school especially early.
Master Miejue had gone to the library to find him but couldn’t see him anywhere.
"Where is Xue Yang?"
In the library, Cui Hao was packing up his things. He paused when he saw Master Miejue approaching. "Xue Yang said he had something to take care of, so he went home early today."
"What time is it?"
Master Miejue’s expression soured, but she didn’t press the matter. "Tell him to come to my office before class tomorrow."
Cui Hao bowed. "Okay, Teacher Gong. Merry Christmas, Teacher Gong!"
"Merry Christmas!"
Not long after Master Miejue left, Chen Ying walked in, dressed in a long, red fleece coat.
"Cui Hao, where’s Xue Yang?"
It had to be said, Chen Ying looked truly stunning in red. She was like a walking mannequin; it was a real pity the Christmas brands hadn’t hired her as a spokesperson.
"Oh, he went home."
Chen Ying’s lovely brows furrowed slightly. She glanced at the time; it wasn’t even four o’clock yet.
"He went home? Is Xue Yang not feeling well today?"
"I don’t know," Cui Hao said, continuing to pack his things without looking at her.
"You’re his best friend. How could you not know?"
"I’m his best brother, that’s true, but I don’t need to know every single thing about him. He’s my brother, not my prisoner. Senior Sister Chen, I’m sorry, but I have to go celebrate Christmas, too."
Just as Cui Hao was about to leave, Chen Ying called out to him. "Cui Hao, I know you have a problem with me."
"Senior Sister Chen, since you know I have a problem with you, then let’s not talk more than we have to."
"Cui Hao, I just want to tell you that I’m going to win Xue Yang back. His six years of persistence weren’t some joke."
Cui Hao laughed in exasperation. "Senior Sister Chen, isn’t it the biggest joke of all for you to be saying this now? Xue Yang chased you for six years. Even a piece of cold iron would have warmed up by now, but what about you? You’re like a block of eternal ice that could never be thawed, no matter how hard he tried. Thankfully, he finally realized he isn’t your sun and has started living for himself. If you have any conscience left, don’t disturb his life anymore."
Since Xue Yang had moved on, his improvement was obvious to everyone. Two people who truly like each other should support one another and grow together. It shouldn’t be one person endlessly giving while the other simply enjoys it. The worst part is when your devotion eventually becomes nothing but a nuisance in the other person’s eyes. They might even say, "I never asked you to do any of that. You’re the one who chose to do it." Just because you gave, does that mean I’m obligated to give something back? What bullshit!
Not wanting to speak with Chen Ying a moment longer, Cui Hao slung his backpack over his shoulder and left with a flourish.
Chen Ying’s eyes turned red, tears welling up as she staggered back to her dormitory in a daze.
Wu Xiaoya, already dressed up and ready to go out for Christmas, was surprised to see Chen Ying return.
"Xiao Ya, how could Xue Yang treat me like this?" Chen Ying asked as tears began to stream down her cheeks.
"Ying Ying, didn’t you say you were going to focus on the Lin Corporation project and stop thinking about other things?"
"I..."
Chen Ying wanted to, but Xue Yang was just getting more and more outstanding. The day she would have to leave school was drawing closer. She had an internship next year at the latest, and even if she could stay for her master’s degree, Chen Ying still felt uncertain.
She had to face a single truth: she didn’t want to let go of Xue Yang! Not one bit
