Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 149 - 148: Who Can Outdo You Guys When It Comes to Being Shameless
Xue Yang was the streetwear brand’s hottest property right now. If he got poached, Si Wen would cry her eyes out.
According to Jennifer, for the final season with Xue Yang as the brand ambassador, the clothes were pre-ordered by major retailers before they were even released. The presales on their Taobao store had sold out long ago, and now, all they could do was rush the factory to produce more.
As the big boss behind the brand, Si Wen certainly didn’t want Xue Yang to be poached by a competitor. Realizing she had almost let something slip, Si Wen quickly said, "What I mean is, you’re the brand ambassador for that streetwear brand. It doesn’t look good for you to be wearing clothes from other brands."
Yes, that’s a good save, she thought.
Si Wen touched her nose, feeling a pang of guilt. After all, I, the big boss, am the one who bought him these clothes.
"The contract I signed with the brand doesn’t prohibit me from wearing clothes from other companies."
"It doesn’t?" We’ll add that clause next time, then, Si Wen thought to herself.
"Mm. Well, lovely ladies, shall we get some breakfast first? Please." Xue Yang made a gentlemanly gesture, inviting them.
Lin Xi naturally looped her arm through Xue Yang’s. Si Wen, having no one’s arm to take, had no choice but to walk on ahead by herself.
After breakfast, the three of them returned to the house. To ensure her plan to sleep with Xue Yang would be foolproof, Lin Xi resolved to study even more diligently.
The two beautiful girls were seriously working on their practice problems.
Xue Yang took some time to handle company matters and update his novel. He had a quick chat with Cui Hao.
"So, you’re with your girlfriend now?"
"That’s right. You guys don’t need to worry about me."
"Good to hear. Have fun, and contact us if anything comes up."
"Okay."
Closing the chat window, Xue Yang opened his writer’s dashboard. He had run out of his stockpiled Chapters for the day, so he had to write and publish a new one on the spot.
With the woman he loved by his side, Xue Yang wrote at incredible speed. In less than an hour, he had finished 4,000 words.
He clicked ’Publish’, and Si Wen’s phone received the update notification almost simultaneously. She quickly pulled out her phone to read the new Chapter. She blazed through it in no time, but it only left her wanting more.
"Xue Yang, can’t you write a little more?"
"I can’t right now."
"Are you going to write more later? Let me read it first."
"I’ll show it to you first after I finish writing."
Satisfied, Si Wen buried her head back in her test papers.
A little while later, Lin Xi came over with a paper in her hand. "Xue Yang, how do you solve this problem?"
"Let me see. This one should be solved like this..." Xue Yang took Lin Xi’s hand, guiding it to underline the key points before walking her through the solution.
His explanation was clear and incredibly detailed, making the problem easy to understand at a glance.
Lin Xi, however, was in a daze. Xue Yang was so close to her that their bodies were nearly overlapping. This intimate proximity made it impossible for her to focus on his lesson.
Seeing that a certain Xiao Naimao was daydreaming, Xue Yang tapped her gently on the head. "Pay attention!"
"Xue Yang, if I finish all these problems, will I get a reward?"
"What kind of reward do you want?"
"I want you to take me out, just the two of us."
It had been a very, very long time since they had gone out together, just the two of them.
"Okay."
Si Wen looked up to see the two of them whispering intimately as if no one else was in the room. She spoke up, "Lin Xi, since you have someone teaching you, can I finally see Xue Yang’s notebooks?"
Ever since she had gotten a glimpse of them last time, Si Wen had been thinking about them nonstop. Of course, she purely wanted to see the notes and had no other intentions.
"Oh, sure," Lin Xi said, handing all the notebooks to Si Wen.
"Huh? Why are you so agreeable this time? You gave them to me as soon as I asked."
Lin Xi looked up at Si Wen and blinked innocently. "Oh, there’s a condition."
"I knew it. Spit it out, what’s the condition?"
"Let me borrow your car."
"What for?"
"To go out."
"Go out where?"
"Just me and Xue Yang."
"...You’re borrowing my car to go out? Then what am I supposed to do?"
"You can stay here and study."
Si Wen was speechless. She suddenly understood why Lin Xi had been so willing to give her the notebooks. They wanted some time alone and were trying to get rid of her, the third wheel.
And to think, I was the one who ran to her house in the middle of the night, begging her to find Xue Yang! Damn them! Could they be any more conniving?
Si Wen furiously flipped open a notebook, as if she could reclaim her dignity from its pages after being outplayed by Xue Yang and Lin Xi. She refused to believe she couldn’t beat Lin Xi in the next exam.
Seeing her reaction, Lin Xi knew she had agreed. "Si Wen, you’re the best."
"Just wait until I score higher than you on the next exam. You’ll see how wrong you were."
"You don’t have to go to all that trouble. I’ll just answer one less multiple-choice question."
Si Wen gritted her teeth. "Thanks so much for being so considerate."
"You’re welcome. What can I say? We’re best friends, aren’t we?"
Si Wen was at a loss for words. This conversation was going nowhere.
With her motivation renewed, Lin Xi flew through her test papers, finishing everything in about three hours.
"Xue Yang, I’m done! Let’s go out!"
Si Wen pouted. "Go on, then. Just leave me here all alone to grow old and die."
"Si Wen, I’ll give you my ’Heaven’s Maiden’ when we get back. Don’t be mad, okay?"
"That’s more like it."
Si Wen snorted, tossing them the car keys before burying her head back in her work. ’Heaven’s Maiden’ was a collectible she had always wanted. Only Lin Xi had managed to get one, and she had missed out. Now it’s mine. I’m so happy.
"Let’s go, Xue Yang." Lin Xi hooked both her arms through Xue Yang’s and skipped cheerfully toward the door.
The two settled into the pink Mercedes-Benz, with Xue Yang in the driver’s seat and Lin Xi in the passenger seat. This was her first time riding shotgun with Xue Yang, and she could barely contain her excitement.
"Xue Yang, where are we going?"
"Where do you want to go?"
"I don’t know." If it were possible, I’d want to leave Yancheng far behind with Xue Yang, go to a new, unfamiliar place where it’s just the two of us.
"Then how about we just drive straight ahead? Wherever we end up, that’s where we’ll be. Okay?"
"Okay!"
"Let’s go."
The pink Mercedes-Benz slowly pulled away. She hadn’t noticed when they arrived last night, but in the daylight, Lin Xi realized the road was extremely secluded, resembling a winding mountain road with countless bends. Every time she thought they were about to reach a flat stretch, a sharp turn would appear out of nowhere.
Fortunately, Xue Yang drove steadily, so Lin Xi didn’t feel much jolting. Otherwise, she would have been terrified.
About half an hour later, after navigating a large curve, the number of cars on the road ahead suddenly increased. It felt like a scene from a poem: "Where mountains and rivers end and the path seems lost, shady willows and bright flowers reveal another village."
On the flat road, the pink Mercedes-Benz drove smoothly, its color making it stand out conspicuously. Like an agile elf declaring its presence to the world, it seemed to move tirelessly forward, never turning, always forging bravely ahead.
