"Your Highness Helios?"

Helios Rune Abelavish gasped and froze. Then, the man turned around to look at the owner of the voice, who had just called him as well as Jeremy. Helios blinked and laughed awkwardly at Penelope Askary. The man cleared his throat and looked away while scratching his cheek.

"Oh, hello! What are you doing here, Princess Penelope?"

"Shouldn’t I be the one asking why Your Highness could be in Duke Edmund’s mansion and look like he was eavesdropping?" Penelope asked back.

Actually, the woman still felt feverish and dizzy. However, earlier she overheard that Sebastian De Louis had come to visit this mansion. Penelope had heard those words when she was still half asleep but she was sure of them. And, it’s been more than ten minutes since Edmund has not returned to her room. For some reason, Penelope really wanted to be spoiled by Edmund in her sick state.

"Me? Haha." Helios laughed again and cleared his throat a second time. He looked at Jeremy, who had been looking down since earlier when Penelope Askary came. "Jeremy, what are we doing here?"

Jeremy gasped and groaned inside his heart. Was his master now putting the blame on him? It sucks!

"Greetings to Princess Penelope. May Elleia’s light always be with you," said Jeremy in a polite tone. "We followed His Highness Sebastian De Louis to visit Princess Penelope. His Highness Sebastian received information that Princess Penelope was sick and we insisted on following him to this mansion. However, it seems His Highness Sebastian and Duke Edmund are having a serious conversation inside Duke Edmund’s study."

Penelope frowned and became worried. She looked back toward Sarah, who always faithfully accompanied her. Her maid’s face looked panicked as well as her eyes. Penelope knew she should be resting in her room but the woman kept insisting she wanted to catch up with Edmund because she missed him even though they had only been apart for about ten minutes.

"My Lady, we’d better go back to your room," Sarah suggested. "Duke Edmund will surely come back to see My Lady in the room and look after you immediately when he is done talking with His Highness the Crown Prince. I don’t want you to meet that annoying man, My Lady."

Penelope smiled and rubbed Sarah’s head gently to calm her maid down. Then, she looked at Helios when she heard the man clear his throat.

"Forgive me in advance if I offend you, Princess. But... Do you have a special relationship with His Highness Sebastian?"

Penelope blinked. "Yes?"

"I don’t mean to interfere and want to know your privacy, but..." Helios grimaced and scratched his cheek. He looked at Jeremy, who shook his head at him. A sign that the man disapproved of whatever his master wanted to say. However, Helios didn’t want to listen to Jeremy’s words. "Earlier, Jeremy overheard the conversation between Duke Edmund and His Highness Sebastian. His Highness Sebastian said to Duke Edmund that he loves you very much and will make you his Empress."

Hearing that, Penelope blinked again and her mouth opened wide. Her head suddenly hurt.

"Huh?!" Sarah exclaimed. "That son of a hmph—"

Before Sarah could say any harsh words to Sebastian, Penelope covered her maid’s mouth with her palm. Penelope took a deep breath and massaged her temples with her left hand.

"Princess?" called Helios when he saw Penelope growing pale. "Are you okay? Would you like me to take you to your room? You should rest if you are still very sick."

Penelope shook her head and smiled at Helios. A smile that made Helios’ heart flutter and the man immediately grabbed his chest. He also seemed to be able to hear the sound of ’Kyun’ in his chest as a sign that he was very fascinated by Penelope’s beauty and her elegant smile just now.

"I’m fine, Your Highness. I’ll rest later. But, for now, I have to go in there and tell Sebastian De Louis firmly that I will never be his Empress. I would never want to marry him either. He already had the woman he loved in his life and he wished he could have me too? Isn’t that too greedy?"

"You’re right," nodded Helios. "Then, I will leave now."

"Yes?"

"I... have some business to take care of," Helios said with a laugh. "Then, good luck, Princess. I will support you, always."

Penelope nodded and watched Helios and Jeremy leave with a questioning look. However, the woman decided not to mind it and looked at Sarah with a firm gaze.

"Sarah, I’m going to go in there now. You, wait here."

"Yes, My Lady. If you need anything or anything bad happens inside, even if there is Duke Edmund to protect you, please immediately shout for me."

Penelope smiled and took a deep breath. Then, she opened the door of Edmund’s study in front of her without even knocking. As she had expected, the two men inside, who were sitting opposite and glaring at each other, turned to look at her. Both of them stood with surprised faces but Penelope could see Sebastian’s happy expression. Those green eyes looked at Penelope with adoring eyes, making Penelope swallow hard and feel uncomfortable. She recalled the incident at the boutique back then and her body began to tremble. However, the woman tried to look brave because she knew Edmund was there.

"Penny?!" Edmund, who was surprised by Penelope’s appearance, immediately approached the woman with fast and wide steps. Penelope immediately hugged his waist and closed her eyes as Edmund’s scent made her feel comfortable and calm. "Why are you here? You need to rest, Honey."

"I missed you," Penelope said in a spoiled tone and she deliberately raised her voice for Sebastian to hear. She looked up and looked at Edmund’s face with a sad look. "You suddenly disappeared from my room, Ed. Of course, I don’t want to be alone in the room. I feel lonely. So are our children." The woman hugged Edmund again and smiled happily. She also inhaled Edmund’s scent openly for Sebastian to see. Then, Penelope stood on her tiptoes and cupped Edmund’s face. Afterward, Edmund’s eyes widened when Penelope immediately kissed him on the lips.

Seeing how Penelope kissed Edmund, Sebastian froze. The man clenched his fists at his sides and shot Edmund a murderous look. How dare that jerk touch and kiss his woman?!

"Edmund Gerwyn! What do you think you’re doing right now?! You dare to kiss my woman?!"

Edmund rubbed Penelope’s lips with his thumb and licked his own lips. Then, the man looked at Sebastian and grinned mockingly. "Your woman? Am I hearing right, Your Highness? Since when did my Penny become your woman? From the start, Penny was mine. Then, what’s wrong with me kissing my own woman? After all, it was Penny who kissed me, not the other way around. I only received the proof of Penny’s love for me. Isn’t that right, Honey?" asked Edmund, caressing Penelope’s pretty face. In his heart, Edmund still felt anxious and panicked because Penelope’s face still looked pale.

"Of course, Ed," Penelope nodded. She rested her head on Edmund’s athletic chest and looked at Sebastian. "Oh? I didn’t realize you were here, Your Highness. Forgive me for my impudence just now for showing my and Ed’s romance. I miss him so much that I can’t resist kissing him."

"Penelope, open your eyes!" Sebastian exclaimed. He patted his own chest. "I’m better than him, Penelope. I have everything in this world that any woman could want. High noble status, wealth, everything! I can make you happy, Honey. Don’t you love me? You really loved me since long ago and that’s why you always chase me, right? Now, I just realized that I love you too. I want you! So come back to me, Penelope."

Edmund wanted to reply to Sebastian’s words but Penelope immediately held him back. The woman shook her head at Edmund and smiled. Then, she looked back at Sebastian and said, "I don’t love you anymore, Sebastian De Louis. My love for you is only in the past, as I always told you. I only love Ed now and for the rest of my life. So, please stop bothering me. I will never want to marry you, I will never want to be your Empress. If Ed had nothing in this world, I would still choose him and would still love him. I can face anything in this world as long as I’m with Ed."

Sebastian growled and shook his head. "No! I will never let you go. Listen, Penelope. I’ve dumped Isabella. I’m not interested in her anymore. I’m only interested in you. I realized that Isabella wasn’t as attractive as you, Penelope. I will give you everything you want. I will even accept your children even though they are not of my flesh and blood! I don’t care about that as long as I can have you."

Penelope looked at Sebastian with a sharp gaze. Having Edmund by her side made Penelope dare to do it and not be afraid. Together with Edmund, Penelope felt protected.

"I am not an item that you can possess, Your Highness. My life is mine. And I entrusted my life to Ed." Penelope looked up and smiled gently at Edmund while placing her palm on Edmund’s cheek. "I love him so much."

"No!" Sebastian shouted. "No! No! You can’t love him! You can only love me alone!" The man walked with quick, wide steps toward Edmund and Penelope. Then, Sebastian reached out and grabbed Penelope’s arm, then tried to pull her away from Edmund’s embrace. Penelope, who panicked, tried to jerk Sebastian’s hand. However, Sebastian’s grip was so strong that Penelope winced in pain.

"Kyaa! Get off my hand! It hurts!"

Edmund did not remain silent. The man immediately punched Sebastian in the face and pulled Penelope back into his arms. Sebastian was pushed back and held his lip which was bleeding from Edmund’s beating. He shot Edmund with a look full of hatred.

"Edmund Gerwyn!" growled Sebastian. "You dare to punch me?!"
