Reincarnation of The Villainess: She Has The Duke's Baby!-Chapter 48: #-You Are So Childish, Edmund Gerwyn!
Edmund Gerwyn would have no problem if Penelope Askary wanted to buy everything in the world.
The man had a lot of money and Edmund was not shy about showing it off to everyone. All that money will also be owned by Penelope Askary. However, Edmund would prefer that Penelope spend his money buying expensive dresses or jewelry, not buying food on the side of the road that even Edmund doesn’t know whether the food is clean and non-toxic or not.
But, if Edmund had said that to Penelope, she would have been furious with him. Then, Penelope would sulk at him, not talk to him, and maybe even run away from him again. Edmund never thought he would experience these kinds of things. Loving a woman until he is willing to do anything, even if it means kneeling in front of her. He didn’t expect to give his whole life to a woman. In the past, he loved Isabella Lysander and gave up knowing that she and Sebastian De Louis were close and liked each other. However, Edmund did not feel the way he did for Penelope Askary when he still had feelings for Isabella Lysander.
"Why is your face like that?"
Edmund looked down and cleared his throat. The man had just tasted a big red candy just to make sure it was non-toxic and safe for both Penelope and their child to eat. The woman seemed to really enjoy the red candy in her hands, making Edmund snort softly but Penelope could still hear the snort.
"Why are you snorting?" Penelope grumbled with a frown.
"You ask so many questions, my little bunny. Which question do you want me to answer?" Edmund asked back. The man tilted his head, crossed his arms, and raised an eyebrow.
"Answer all of them," Penelope answered in a firm tone. Then, the woman sniffed something, and her eyes lit up. She glanced around, then grabbed Edmund’s arm and pointed toward one of the places that sold food. "Hey, Ed! There, I want to eat that!"
"What’s that?" asked Edmund, frowning. Another strange food that his woman and their children crave. Why did his child want strange foods compared to the expensive ones cooked by high-quality chefs?
Penelope stared at Edmund as if he were an alien from another planet. "You don’t know what a skewer is? You never eat it?"
"Should I eat that?" Edmund asked back, making Penelope squint her eyes and turn to look at Sarah, Rosaline, Edgar, and Philleo, who faithfully followed and protected them from behind. At first, Edmund just wanted to go alone with Penelope. He felt more than enough to protect his woman. However, Rosaline and Sarah begged Penelope to be allowed to come along so they could protect her. Edgar also whined to Edmund because he couldn’t just leave the Duke. Meanwhile, Philleo just kept quiet and would follow whatever orders Penelope gave him. Finally, they were all allowed to come along by Penelope.
"Edgar, doesn’t this Master of yours know how to enjoy life?"
Edgar turned his head away while clutching his chest as if he didn’t know how to answer Penelope’s question, the woman who would soon become Duchess Gerwyn. Edgar was very surprised to learn that Penelope was carrying Edmund’s child and was happy that the Duke would finally have a successor soon.
"Forgive my Master, Princess Penelope. All my Master has done all his life is work."
Edmund snorted. He looked at Penelope with a worried look. "Penny, how about we stop now? Hmm? You’ve bought a lot of food, right? I don’t want you to get a stomachache, Penny."
"So, you won’t buy me the food?" Penelope pouted and went back to sucking on the candy in her hand. Seeing that, Edmund immediately held Penelope’s wrist to stop her from sucking on the candy. "What are you doing, Duke Edmund?"
"You keep sucking and licking this candy," grumbled Edmund. "I don’t like the sight of it!"
Suddenly, Edmund bent down and brought his face closer to Penelope’s. The man immediately kissed Penelope on the lips, making her widen her eyes. Not only kissing her lips, Edmund also licked Penelope’s lips and sucked them a little. Seeing that, Rosaline and Sarah blinked and immediately looked away in embarrassment, while Edgar cleared his throat and looked down. He shook his head and massaged the bridge of his nose, unsure of how to react when he saw his Master’s demeanor. Only Philleo Aaron was silent and looked at Edmund with a cold and flat look. His hands clenched tightly at his sides. His jaw clenched and Philleo really wanted to grab Edmund by the collar and punch him.
"Sweet," muttered Edmund as he broke his kiss on Penelope’s lips. He rubbed his own lips with his thumb, then glanced at Penelope who had turned into a statue, and blushed hard. Edmund grinned in satisfaction. "I don’t really like sweets, but as long as this sweet taste comes from your lips or your body, I’m fine with it."
Hearing that, Penelope flinched and looked up to give Edmund a fierce look.
"Edmund Gerwyn! You really are a pervert! Did you forget that we’re outside right now?! There are lots of people here!" Penelope pointed at Rosaline, Sarah, Edgar, and Philleo. "Didn’t you see their reactions?! They are very embarrassed by your behavior just now, Duke Edmund! Sir Philleo even froze on the spot because of that behavior of yours!"
Edmund shrugged and looked at the four of them. Then, his gaze stopped on Philleo. Edmund grinned mockingly, causing Philleo to give him a hateful look. Penelope might have thought Philleo was too shocked by his actions to make him freeze, but Edmund knew that the man didn’t like seeing him touch and kiss Penelope. Perhaps, only he knew that this lowly knight had special feelings for Penelope Askary.
And I will never let you touch her let alone take her from me, said Edmund inside his heart. The man focused back on Penelope who was still grumbling at him.
"Penny, I have something to confess to you," said Edmund in a serious tone. He hugged Penelope’s waist, making Penelope flinch again, and tried to free herself from Edmund’s tight embrace. "I’m a pervert."
Penelope blinked. "Huh?!"
"So what?" Edmund shrugged. He gave Penelope an innocent facial expression as well as a look in his eyes. "I was being perverted toward the woman I loved. Is it wrong? If I do that to another woman, you have every right to be mad at me. But, I always do it to you, right? You should be happy that I really care about you, Honey."
"Ugh! This man really gives me a headache," Penelope growled.
"This is your fault, Penny."
"Huh?! How come this is my fault? What? Do you mean I’m guilty of turning you into a pervert?!" Penelope pointed at Edmund’s face, making Edmund lean forward and immediately put Penelope’s index finger into his mouth. He bit Penelope’s finger lightly and sucked it. This made Penelope’s face heat up even more and blush even more. Her poor heart pounded hard. Her body suddenly trembled and went limp. If Edmund hadn’t embraced her, Penelope might have fallen to her knees by now.
"Who told you to keep licking and sucking on that candy?" Edmund sulks. Even so, his face still looks handsome.
"What do you mean, Edmund? Candy was meant to be licked and sucked! That’s how to eat candy!"
"But, I don’t like it," grumbled Edmund. "You pay more attention to your candy than me. Your lips are mine. If you want something to lick and suck on your lips, you can use my lips or my neck. Everything in my body is yours."
"I’m sorry," said Edgar suddenly to Rosaline, Sarah, and Philleo while bowing repeatedly. "Really, pardon my Lord’s stupidity. He had turned into a stupid man because he loved Princess Penelope too much. I’ll try to scold him later."
Sarah and Rosaline could only grimace with an awkward smile, while Philleo snorted and looked away. Even so, his eyes always glanced at Edmund and Penelope, and the hatred never left them.
"Are you jealous of candy?!"
Edmund glanced the other way. "Is it wrong if I’m jealous?"
"On candy?!" Penelope shouted in disbelief. At this point, the woman no longer cared if people around her talked about her and Edmund. "I do not believe it. You are so childish, Edmund Gerwyn!"
Edmund snorted. "I have every right to be jealous of anything that catches your eye and anything that makes you like it."
"And you would be jealous of your child if he or she were born just because I liked your child more than you?" 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Of course," nodded Edmund with an innocent look and expression. "Therefore, you must be fair to me and our child later. If my son or daughter was getting more attention from you, then I would sulk every day at you and our child."
Hearing that, Rosaline and Sarah widened their eyes and looked away while lowering their heads to hide their giggles. Edgar could only open his mouth wide when he heard his Master’s words, then looked down while covering his face with both hands. He only hoped in his heart that the Duke would stop the nonsense he had been spouting since earlier or Penelope Askary would run away from him again.
"I don’t even know how to react, Ed." Penelope shook her head and massaged her temples. "You are more childish than a child."
It was then, Penelope heard the sound of approaching footsteps. Likewise with Edmund. The man immediately brought Penelope closer to him and glared at the two men who were approaching them. Edgar, Rosaline, and Philleo immediately stood in front of Edmund and Penelope, while Sarah stood beside Penelope, who was being hugged by Edmund to protect her Lady.
"What honor did I get that I could meet the Crown Prince of the Abelavish empire?" asked Edmund coldly.
"Oh? Do you know me?" asked Helios Rune Abelavish with a big smile on his handsome face. "Have we met before? To be honest, I only know about you regarding the rumors I heard! Rumor has it that a Duke in the De Louis empire was extremely cruel and cold-blooded. You are quite famous in the Abelavish empire, Duke Edmund." Helios’ eyes now turned to Penelope who hid her face in Edmund’s chest. "And I didn’t expect to see that ruthless Duke with a woman."
Jeremy cleared his throat and stepped forward before the Crown Prince he was serving spoke of other strange things. He bowed before Edmund.
"Greetings to Duke Edmund Gerwyn. We are sorry that we disturbed your journey and your people."
Penelope glanced at the people approaching her and Edmund. Her eyes widened when she saw the man’s smiling face. Then, when the man looked at her, Penelope immediately hid her face again in Edmund’s chest.
Dammit! So, the man whom I met in the back alley when I was running away from Edmund was the Crown Prince of the Abelavish empire? Penelope shouted frantically in her heart.
"Hello, cute little bunny! We meet again! Do you still remember me? We met at that time in a small alley when you were separated from your friends. I didn’t expect that you were a friend of Duke Edmund." Helios greeted in a cheerful tone and waved.
Hearing that, Penelope closed her eyes and cursed Helios in her heart. She bravely took a peek and looked up. Edmund’s expression was cold and he gave Helios a murderous glare! Of course, it was for Helios, Penelope could guess it because it was Helios who greeted her just now and called her a cute little bunny!
"You’ve met before?" asked Edmund coldly. He tilted his head and Penelope gulped. "Wait. Just now, did you call her a cute little bunny?"
No, no! If this continues, Penelope believes Edmund will start a war with the Abelavish empire!
"You dare to call my woman a cute little bunny?" Edmund spoke again in a much colder and sharper tone than before.
"Yeah!" Helios nodded vigorously and smiled kindly. He pointed at Penelope. "I’m attracted to that woman. She’s so funny and I’ve never met such a funny woman before. She looks like a bunny and I really like that animal!"
Arrrgh! Penelope groaned loudly inside her heart. Isn’t there someone who can make the Crown Prince of the Abelavish empire shut his mouth?! Doesn’t that man know that his life is on the line?! Couldn’t he feel the killing aura Edmund gave him?
"He has a very high desire to die by my hands," whispered Edmund, looking down to stare at Penelope. The man smiled coldly. "Don’t you think so, Honey?"
Penelope grimaced and swallowed hard.
Apparently, the Crown Prince of the Abelavish empire really wanted to start a war.
