"Ocean Gerwyn, what are you doing up in a tree?!"
Ocean Gerwyn lowered her head and frowned when she saw Edmund Gerwyn, the cruelest Duke ever recorded in the history of the De Louis empire and her biological Father, scolding her. Behind the Duke, Ocean could see Edgar, the loyal knight of her biological Father and her idol since she was a child.
"I’m enjoying the view! Don’t bother me, Father!" Ocean grumbled.
Edmund Gerwyn really loved his only daughter. But, sometimes, the Duke didn’t know what to do if his daughter was pouting and sulking like this. Ocean Gerwyn’s beauty was very famous in the De Louis empire, making her courted by many men, making the Duke get a headache because he had to think of a way to get rid of all the annoying insects that wanted to get close to his daughter.
"Come down right now before your Mother shows up and gets hysterical when she sees you up in the tree!" grumbled Edmund again. The man couldn’t help but be reminded of his past with Penelope Askary. The wife he loved so much also really liked climbing trees, for some reason. "Do you want to see your Mother have a heart attack because she saw you in the tree?"
Ocean was silent. She knew her Mother was a gentle woman who was very kind. She was the Saintess admired and loved by everyone in the De Louis empire. However, not many people know that Penelope Askary is a woman who worries easily. The woman easily panics and becomes hysterical if something happens to her children or her other family members. And Ocean doesn’t want to see her Mother like that because of her.
"I’ll come down from the tree if Father promises me something."

The voice made Ocean, Edmund, and Edgar turn their heads around. Raven Gerwyn, Ocean Gerwyn’s twin brother, appears with his arms crossed. Beside him, the knight in charge of protecting Raven as well as his childhood friend and son of Edgar and Sarah, Alexander, smiled at Ocean and waved at the woman. This made Ocean hold her breath and lower her head to hide her blushing face. Meanwhile, Marvel Gerwyn ran with a worried face and gaze towards the tree.
"Older sister! What is Sister Ocean doing up there? It’s dangerous over there, Sister!" Marvel exclaimed.
"You’re making a scene again, Ocean Gerwyn," Raven growled. The man stood beside his Father and looked up to meet Ocean’s unique pair of eyes that were the same as his. "What did you do this time?"
"I didn’t do anything, Big Brother!" Ocean grumbled. "Why do you always blame me for things I never did?"
"Because ever since you were little, all you’ve always done is make a fuss and look for trouble," snorted Raven. "Don’t you realize who you are, Ocean Gerwyn? You were born a Princess. Yes, I know you’re not a member of the imperial family but you’re the daughter of a Duke and Duchess. You have to watch your attitude so as not to embarrass Mother and Father."
"Big Brother, stop scolding Sister Ocean," Marvel grumbled. "Don’t you feel sorry for Sister Ocean?"
Ocean Gerwyn looked down. She felt guilty now. She knew what Raven Gerwyn said was true. However, Ocean was annoyed because her twin brother always scolded her. Doesn’t that man love her? Raven Gerwyn only acts like an older brother when dealing with Ruby Askary, their cousin, or Chintya Sylvester, the young witch in Gerwyn’s mansion.
Because she wasn’t focused on herself and the situation around her, Ocean accidentally stepped on a leaf near her. The woman was shocked because she felt she had stepped on something and lost her balance. Ocean swayed forward, making everyone freeze and wide-eyed. At the same time, Penelope Askary appeared in the backyard along with Sarah and Jellal because they received reports that her daughter was throwing another tantrum. The Duchess widened her eyes and screamed in panic.
While everyone looked panicked, only Alexander remained calm. The man who was two years younger than Ocean Gerwyn stood under the tree and raised both of his hands. He was able to catch Ocean’s tiny body easily, making everyone breathe a sigh of relief. Ocean blinked and her face felt hot when Alexander smiled at her.
"Our Princess seems to really enjoy making everyone worry."
Seeing the closeness between his daughter and Alexander, Edmund snorted and looked at Edgar. The knight just smiled awkwardly and scratched his cheek which didn’t itch.
"Err, Your Grace? Why are you looking at me like that? Did I make a mistake?"
Edmund groaned and pointed at Edgar’s face. "I told you a long time ago not to approach my daughter, Edgar! In the past, Ocean really idolized you and was always close to you and now my daughter is closer to your son than I am! Do you, Father and Son, intend to snatch my daughter away from my arms?!"
"Father, stop embarrassing me!" Ocean grumbled. The woman cleared her throat and looked at Alexander who was still carrying her. Ocean fanned her face and said, "Alex, you can put me down now."
"But, I don’t want to."
It wasn’t just Ocean Gerwyn’s mouth that was wide open but also Edmund Gerwyn’s. Penelope Askary, who ran to the scene to check her daughter’s condition, ignored her husband and cupped Ocean’s face.
"Ocean, are you okay?" Penelope asked in a worried tone.
"I’m fine, Mother. I’m sorry for making you scared and worried," Ocean said in a low voice. The regret can be seen on Ocean’s beautiful face and the look in her eyes.
"Mm. The most important thing is that you’re okay." Penelope breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Alexander. "Alex, can you take Princess Ocean to her room?"
"HUH?!"
Ocean, Raven, Marvel, and Edmund all screamed. The four of them looked at each other. If the three men from the Gerwyn family shouted because they did not agree with Penelope Askary’s request, then Ocean Gerwyn shouted because she felt embarrassed. Her heart was beating very fast at the thought of Alexander carrying her to her room.
Since childhood, Ocean has been very close to Alexander. She tries to be a good older sister figure to Alexander. Ocean will take Alexander wherever they go. She will take care of all Alexander’s needs. She would also help Alexander when the man ate. But, as they grew older, Ocean realized that Alexander was getting more handsome by the day. The question made Ocean blink and look at Alexander. Then, the woman realized they were on their way to her room.
"Alex, put me down!" Ocean ordered. The woman struggled in Alexander’s arms but Alexander was not affected at all. There were no signs that Alexander would lose his balance and fall or anything like that. "Hey, are you deaf? Put me down!"
"No can do, Princess," answered Alexander with a smile. "In accordance with the Duchess’s orders, I must escort you safely to your room."
"You can put me down, let me walk on my own two feet, and follow me from behind, right?" Ocean grumbled. "You would rather listen to my Mother’s words than mine, Alex?!"
"I always prioritize you but this time, I have to follow the Duchess’s orders, Princess." Alexander brought his face closer to Ocean’s, making the woman gasp and hold her breath. "You know that the Duchess’ position is higher than yours in this mansion, right? If you want me to obey all of your orders then you must become a Duchess first."
Ocean snorted. She crossed her arms. "Have you lost your mind? You know that won’t happen. Brother Raven will be Father’s successor. He will become the Duke of this empire to replace Father."
"Hm. You are right." Alexander muttered and nodded. "Then, what if you marry a Duke?"
Ocean got goosebumps when he heard Alexander’s suggestion. "You mean marrying my twin brother?"
Alexander laughed and shook his head in amusement. "The Dukes in this empire aren’t just from the Gerwyn family and the Askary family, right?"
"Perhaps it would be better for me to marry His Highness Ixion."
"Ah, the Crown Prince of the Abelavish empire," chuckled Alexander. "Well, I don’t think that’s a bad idea."
Ocean was silent. She glanced at Alexander.
"Alex, if I wanted you to be my husband, what would you do?"
Alexander muttered. The man looked in another direction, making Ocean nervous because she was waiting for an answer from the person she loved. All this time, Ocean has always harbored feelings of love for Alexander. She didn’t want to ruin the friendship they had had for so long. After all, Ocean knew Alexander didn’t see her as a woman. Alexander only saw her as a younger sister and child of his master who he had to protect even though Ocean was clearly two years older than Alexander.
Arriving at Ocean’s room, Alexander immediately sat Ocean on the edge of the bed. Then, suddenly, the man gently pushed Ocean’s shoulders, making the woman blink and realize she was lying on her own bed. She intended to protest but closed her mouth again when she saw Alexander already on top of her.
"I don’t have a problem with that," Alexander said. He stretched out his right hand and caressed Ocean’s smooth and soft cheek. This made Ocean shiver and look away. She was very embarrassed and afraid that Alexander could hear her heartbeat. "But, I don’t think Duke Edmund, Raven, and Marvel will let me be your husband that easily."
"Do you love me?"
"Of course," nodded Alexander. "Can’t you see it? I’ve always loved you, Ocean Gerwyn. Since I was little, you are the only woman I have loved in this world after my Mother."
Ocean was very happy to hear those words. She couldn’t believe her fears about Alexander never seeing her as a woman were unfounded.
"What if we run away?" Ocean suggested. "I’m ready to go anywhere as long as I’m with you, Alex!"
"Hm." Alexander rubbed his chin and glanced at Ocean. The man grinned and immediately kissed Ocean’s lips. A kiss that is soft and full of love. His eyes remained open and stared right into Ocean’s wide, unique eyes. "I think I have a better idea so that I can be acknowledged by your Father, your older brother, and your younger brother."
"Yes...?"
Alexander’s hand suddenly was on Ocean’s thigh and tried to lift the dress the woman was wearing. Ocean’s eyes widened. Her face was hot and flushed.
"Alex?!"
"I had to get you pregnant so I could marry you, Ocean. That way, Duke Edmund, Raven, and Marvel won’t kill me for always approaching you. They don’t want to see you get pregnant and give birth to a child without having a husband, right? That was the advice given by Duke Ethan, your Uncle, when I told him about my feelings for you."
Ocean Gerwyn’s mouth opened wide.
Luckily, Alexander didn’t have sex with Ocean because suddenly, Raven Gerwyn entered his little sister’s room using Chintya Sylvester’s teleportation magic. For three months, Alexander was forbidden from coming to Gerwyn’s mansion and Raven Gerwyn always enjoyed torturing his childhood friend.
In the end, Alexander still carried out his plan to make Ocean Gerwyn pregnant before they got married.
