Edmund Gerwyn fought with all his strength.
His sword and Gabriel Brown’s sword clashed. Apart from attacking Edmund, Gabriel also used his black magic to attack Ethan Askary, Helios Rune Abelavish, and Claude Sylvester. "Shut your mouth, you bastard!" Edmund growled. His anger was getting the better of him. Edmund just needed to be careful so that his anger didn’t turn into darkness and drown him. He managed to injure Gabriel’s arm with his sword but the wound quickly disappeared. "I will never let Penelope be yours! She’s my wife!"
"You’ll be dead soon," Gabriel mocked. He opened his palm and an arrow made of black light shot towards the Duke. The arrow penetrated Edmund’s stomach, making the man groan and fall to his knees. However, he immediately stuck his sword into the ground. The Duke coughed out blood and grinned towards Gabriel. This made Gabriel Brown frown. "You can still grin when you’re on the verge of death?!"
"I will never die, Gabriel Brown." Edmund threw the spit mixed with blood aside and stood back up. He pulled his sword out of the ground and pointed it at Gabriel Brown. The pink, blue, and black light, a mixture of Penelope’s power and his own, surrounded the Duke’s sword again. "If I really have to die, I will do it after I make sure my wife and children are safe and well!"
"Duke Edmund!" shouted Helios. The man clicked his tongue in annoyance when a monster ran towards him and made him immediately create a bow and arrow from magic. Helios shot the monster with his arrow and the monster immediately disappeared. "Your strength has been greatly drained! I can feel it from here!"
"Edmund!" shouted Ethan. He stabbed a monster and the monster’s blood splashed his handsome face. "Don’t be careless! If you die and my little sister cries, I will kill you!"
"Duke Edmund! I love Duchess Penelope! She is a very beautiful and kind woman. If you let your guard down and die, then I will take the Duchess away from you."
"Hey! I liked the Duchess first," Helios grumbled. He snapped his fingers and the other monsters instantly turned to dust. "Shouldn’t I be the one who can have the Duchess?"
Hearing the commotion between Ethan, Helios, and Claude, especially the topic of conversation between Helios and Claude, Edmund groaned in annoyance. Actually, the three men wanted to encourage him not to lose or make him angry, huh?!
"Did you hear that, Gabriel Brown?" Edmund Gerwyn smiled. "They forbade me to die. Therefore, I will stay alive. You will die by my hand, Gabriel Brown!"
Edmund ran towards Gabriel. His sword clashed again with Gabriel’s sword of darkness. The man who was once the head priest clenched his jaw and held on as hard as he could. However, Edmund’s sword thrust was very strong. Both of Gabriel’s legs pushed back slowly. His left hand opened, preparing to fire an arrow from the light of darkness he created to hurt Edmund again but the Duke didn’t care even though he noticed it. Meanwhile, blood continued to flow from Edmund’s mouth.
"I will win," growled Edmund. "I won’t lose here. I will protect my wife, my children, and everyone in this empire from your dark power and Goddess Oizys’!"
Edmund pushed his sword with all his remaining strength. Then, Gabriel’s sword was thrown. Meanwhile, the Duke immediately cut off Gabriel’s left hand, making the man widen his eyes and scream loudly. Edmund didn’t know whether Gabriel would grow his injured left hand back to normal or not, just like how the wounds on his body always managed to heal by themselves. But, the Duke couldn’t waste this golden opportunity.
"Edmund Gerwyn!" shouted Ethan, Helios, and Claude. They didn’t even use Edmund’s noble title when shouting the man’s name. Edmund smiled. No, he grinned. He would scold them later for daring to call his name like that. But, Edmund knew that it was the support and encouragement that the three men gave him.
"Enjoy your trip to hell, Gabriel Brown," said Edmund in a cold tone. His sword increasingly gave off pink, blue, and black light. It was as if Penelope’s and his powers were getting stronger and uniting in his sword. Then, Edmund swung his sword. He beheaded Gabriel and the man could only freeze. After Gabriel’s head was separated from his body, Edmund immediately stabbed Gabriel in the left chest to shut down the man’s heart function. Even though he knew that cutting off someone’s head was absolute death, in this case, Edmund didn’t want to be careless. He just wanted to make sure Gabriel Brown was truly dead for good.
As Gabriel Brown’s headless body fell to the ground, a pink light shot upwards and penetrated the dark sky. Edmund turned his head and looked up, as did Ethan, Helios, and Claude. The monsters suddenly convulsed and exploded. All of them died and were destroyed. Then, the pink light continued to spread across the sky of the De Louis empire. The pink light felt warm and defeated the darkness in the De Louis empire. Slowly, the darkness disappeared. The sky in the De Louis empire returned to normal. The crescent moon and stars decorated the night sky. All the destroyed buildings stood upright as before. The injured knights and wizards, whether light or heavy injuries, slowly recovered.
"Did we... win...?" asked Ethan Askary in a doubtful tone. His body, which was full of wounds and pain, is now recovered again.
"We won!" exclaimed Edmund. He pointed his sword in the air. His blue eyes stared firmly at the people around him. "Penelope Askary managed to defeat the evil and cruel Goddess Oizys. The Saintess succeeded in defeating the Dark Goddess!"
Everyone looked at each other and immediately clenched their right fists. Then, they lifted it into the air.
"Whoa! Long live Duchess Penelope! Long live Saintess Penelope!" everyone exclaimed excitedly. They laughed, they cried, they hugged each other. Then, the heavy rain began to stop. The night sky was getting brighter and clearer to see. And the strangest thing was, a rainbow appeared in the night sky and could be seen by all of them.
"Duke Edmund."
The call made Edmund, who was talking to Ethan, turn his head around. The serious expression on Helios’ face, especially the look in his eyes, made Edmund freeze. He had a bad feeling about this.
"Actually, the Duchess...."
When Helios told Edmund everything, the man didn’t react. More precisely, he no longer knew how to use all of his bodily functions. Edmund felt like his world was collapsing right before his eyes.
Helios was silent. He bowed before the Duke despite his position as Crown Prince. The man closed his eyes. He let his tears fall. His heart hurts. A lot. His first love and first heartbreak. A brave woman who is willing to sacrifice her happiness for the happiness of everyone, especially the happiness of her husband and children. Helios could hear Ethan Askary shouting ’impossible’ and shouting Penelope Askary’s name. He also knew that Jeremy was running after Ethan who looked as if he had lost his mind.

Edmund remained silent. His blue eyes stared blankly. He was like a soulless shell.
’I will do it,’ Penelope said at that time to Helios. Things that Helios can still remember to this day. ’But, keep this a secret from Edmund Gerwyn. If he finds out, he will ban me and probably lock me in a remote place. I’m doing this for his happiness.’

"You’re making a fuss again."
Ocean and Edgar turned their heads. The handsome Raven Gerwyn appeared. Ocean Gerwyn’s twin older brother. Just like Ocean, his blue and gold eyes can fascinate everyone. His black hair, which was similar to Edmund, was able to beat the darkness of the night sky. Raven also has all the traits of Edmund Gerwyn. However, if Ocean Gerwyn is much more expressive and cheerful, then Raven is very cold and indifferent like Edmund.
"Older brother!" Ocean ran towards Raven and hugged his arm. "Edgar is an old man. He can’t chase me down and catch me."

"Ah!" Ocean chuckled and immediately ran to Marvel Gerwyn’s room, her younger brother. "Marvel! Wait for me! I will come right away and heal you!"

"Penny, our kids are five years old now. And Marvel is four years old," whispered Edmund. He kissed Penelope’s lips and held her hand tightly. That night, when Penelope succeeded in defeating Goddess Oizys and Helios told him everything, Edmund felt his world collapse. He ran to Penelope and immediately hugged her tightly. Edmund shouted. He cries. He called Penelope’s name and begged Goddess Elleia even though Penelope said the Goddess had been killed and died. If he had to lose Penelope forever, then Edmund asked that his life be taken right then and there.
Suddenly, Penelope Askary’s body was surrounded by a pink light. Even when Edmund brought his wife home and laid her on the bed, her tiny body was still surrounded by pink light.
