Chapter 160: #160-Enter The Enemy’s Nest!

After taking Ethan Askary to the guest room, Helios Rune Abelavish and Jeremy intended to take Amy to the guest room used by Isabella Lysander.

However, suddenly, Helios heard Edmund Gerwyn’s scream while calling Penelope Askary. He looked at Jeremy and Jeremy nodded. The man escorted Amy while Helios rushed to the room occupied by the Duke and Duchess Gerwyn. Without knocking on the door because he felt this was quite a serious situation and because he also had authority in his own palace, Helios went straight into the room. He froze when he saw that the stuff in the room had been destroyed because they had been thrown in various directions.

"Duke!" Helios exclaimed. He ran and tried to calm Edmund. However, his efforts were in vain. Edmund continued to struggle and scream the Duchess’ name. "Dammit, Duke! What’s wrong with you?! Calm down!"

Edmund Gerwyn growled and immediately grabbed Helios’s arms. "Where is my wife?! Where did my wife disappear to?! Did she leave me?! I don’t want to lose her, Your Highness!"

Helios grimaced in pain and frowned. "What do you mean the Duchess disappeared? You’re with her in this room!"

"She left me, Your Highness! Because of that damn woman, she left me!" exclaimed Edmund. The Duke let go of Helios and fell to his knees. He growled again and ruffled his own hair. "Penelope Askary has suddenly disappeared, Your Highness!"

Hearing that, Helios froze. He looked around the room and found no sign of Penelope Askary. But, how could that woman disappear? It was impossible for anyone to dare to kidnap the Duchess at the Abelavish palace, especially in front of her own husband. And, there was no way that Edmund Gerwyn couldn’t handle the person who had dared to kidnap Penelope Askary right before his eyes.

"Disappear... How...?" Helios couldn’t even say his sentence properly. The problems that occurred in this palace were too many and happened at the same time, making his head hurt. "Duke, calm down. We can definitely find the Duchess’s whereabouts. I’ll—hm?"

Helios stared at the small magic circle that appeared near his feet, as did Edmund. The Duke stood up and approached Helios. He frowned, then looked at Helios and noticed the look of panic on the Crown Prince’s face.

"Your Highness, what is that?" asked Edmund in a confused tone. "Why did such a small magic circle suddenly appear near your feet?"

Helios swallowed hard and immediately shouted for Jeremy. Not long after, Jeremy appeared and looked confused when he saw the small magic circle his master was pointing at. Then, Helios looked at Edmund.

"The Duchess requests assistance, Duke."

"What?" asked Edmund in a panicked voice. "What do you mean my wife asked for help?"

"It was a signal for help from the magic I taught the Duchess," Helios answered. "I told her to use that signal if she felt like she was in danger and you weren’t by her side."

"Dammit!" Edmund shook Helios’ body. Jeremy had intended to keep the Duke away from his master but Helios forbade it. "Then, where is my wife at the moment, Your Highness?!"

"Calm down." Helios closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Let me concentrate for a moment. I will track her through the signal she sent me."

A few seconds passed and Edmund was getting impatient in his place. He clenched his fists so tightly that his palms were cut and bleeding. But, Edmund didn’t care. Penelope Askary’s safety is the most important thing to him. He shouldn’t have fought with Penelope. He should have listened to Penelope and not shouted at her like before. Because of him, Penelope left and is now in danger.

"She’s in your mansion!" Helios exclaimed as he opened both of his eyes. "I’ll take us there!"

However, when they arrived at the mansion, the woman had disappeared along with Philleo. This made Edmund turn pale and scream for his wife. The Duke continued to hit the ground repeatedly until his fists bled. And, when the aura and black light began to appear around Edmund’s body, Helios was forced to order Jeremy to make Edmund faint. Because, only Penelope Askary had the power to purify Edmund Gerwyn when the Duke was controlled by the darkness within him.

"What should we do, Your Highness?" Jeremy asked. He looked at Helios with a panicked look.

"Bring him inside," Helios said. "I will look for the people Duke Edmund really trusts in the mansion and explain this incident."

Philleo Aaron takes Penelope Askary to his hideout.

The woman looked like she had no soul. Her eyes were blank and she just followed whatever Philleo Aaron said to her. The man smiled happily and kissed Penelope on the cheek, then whistled as he entered the house where he was hiding. After Philleo left, Penelope blinked and breathed a sigh of relief. She wiped her cheek roughly because she was disgusted by Philleo’s treatment of her just now.

"I had to act with that disgusting man just to dig up information," Penelope grumbled. She stood up from the chair and looked around her. "But, where is this? I hope that Edmund and His Highness Helios can find my whereabouts soon."

’Are you okay, my child?’ asked a voice inside Penelope’s head. The woman smiled and nodded. Earlier, when Philleo came, suddenly Goddess Elleia spoke to her in her head and told her to act as if she was brainwashed by Philleo Aaron’s words. Penelope Askary will never be successfully brainwashed because the blessing of Goddess Elleia is always with her.

"I’m fine. Are there other bad people in this place besides Philleo Aaron, Goddess?"

’There is,’ said Goddess Elleia. ’That’s why you have to be careful.’

Penelope nodded and walked around quietly to look for any clues that she could use to attack and defeat Philleo Aaron. There wasn’t much for Penelope to find. She doesn’t know if it’s because there’s nothing in this place or because Philleo Aaron is good at hiding everything. Then, Penelope stopped in front of a tightly closed room.

"What room is this?" Penelope muttered. She held the door in front of her with her right hand and her left hand held her chest. "Somehow, I have a bad feeling about this."

When Penelope decided to open the door in front of her, the woman froze. The sight in front of her was very scary. Many corpses were still covered in blood. Penelope took a step back and fell to her knees. The woman started crying. Her body was shaking violently. She immediately covered her mouth with both of her hands, preventing the sound of sobbing from coming out.

"I didn’t know you had a hobby of peeping like this, Duchess Penelope."

The voice made Penelope flinch. The woman turned her head around and looked up. Her golden eyes widened when she saw Gabriel Brown giving her a cold stare. The head priest smiled eerily at Penelope and tilted his head.

"Do you also want to be my guinea pig, Duchess?" Gabriel asked in a happy tone. "I am willing to open your entire body to take all of your divine power, Duchess. After all, that divine power should belong to me!"

When Gabriel Brown intended to catch Penelope, the woman screamed. Her holy power appeared and pink light filled the entire place. A magic circle also appeared under Penelope’s body, making Gabriel Brown growl and cover his eyes with his arms.

"Where are you going, Duchess?!" Gabriel exclaimed. He stretched out his hand, intending to pull Penelope but the pink light shone even stronger. "PENELOPE ASKARY! RETURN MY HOLY POWER!"

Suddenly, Philleo Aaron appeared. The purple-eyed man ran and tried to catch his breath. He widened his eyes and intended to approach Penelope to prevent the woman from leaving but Penelope’s holy power knocked Philleo and Gabriel away.

And, Penelope Askary disappeared from that place.

When Edmund Gerwyn opened his eyes, the Duke immediately got up from his lying position quickly.

The man tried to remember what had happened. Then, he widened his eyes and immediately got out of bed. Edmund ran to find Helios. He was sure that the Crown Prince of the Abelavish empire was still in his mansion.

"Duke?"

The call made Edmund stop running and turn around. He saw his butler, Evan, looking at him with a relieved look and just coming out of one of the rooms. Edmund immediately approached Evan and grabbed both of his shoulders.

"Where is His Highness Helios?!" asked Edmund in a sharp tone.

"Huh? Your Highness—"

"Duke Edmund, are you awake?"

The question made Edmund and Evan turn their heads around. From the room next to Evan, Helios and Jeremy came out. Edmund immediately stood in front of Helios and looked at him with a panicked look.

"Did you manage to find Penny’s location, Your Highness?!" asked Edmund. "Why are you just silent, Your Highness?!"

"With all due respect, Duke Edmund, you—"

Helios immediately stopped Jeremy, who was about to protest to Edmund. Then, the Crown Prince looked at Edmund with a firm gaze.

"I’m sorry, Duke. I still haven’t been able to trace the Duchess’s whereabouts. It seems Philleo Aaron’s magic is preventing me from tracking them."

Edmund growled and slapped himself repeatedly. The man’s lips even started to bleed.

"I’m such a fool! I couldn’t protect Penny. I deserve to die!"

"Duke, stop! You’re hurting yourself!" Helios immediately detained Edmund, as did Jeremy. However, the two men’s strength was no match for Edmund’s. This time, Edmund even hit his forehead against the wall repeatedly. "Duke Edmund!"

Suddenly, the pink light appeared. Everyone was shocked and froze because the pink light was shining so bright. Then, above a pink magic circle, Penelope Askary was seen. The woman was crying and her body was shaking violently. She glanced around and her golden eyes rested on Edmund Gerwyn.

"Ed...?"

Those were the words Penelope said in a relieved tone before the Duchess fell unconscious.
